Was Resident Evil 2 the best resident evil game an survival horror game?

On replays he's a little too scripted, and the scenarios playing out the same kind of bug me. Though I guess that's fine for a game that came out in what, 99?That sh1t annoyed me though with Bioshock 2 and the Big Sister. She was far too scripted, and borderline predictable. That said I never bought into Resident Evil's horror. jg4xchamp

98, rushed out after they scrapped a nearly complete separate ver. the year before. What they were able to accomplish was pretty impressive.

Fatal Frame 2 is one of the least scary horror games I've played. Horror is different for everyone.

I actually really enjoyed the little bits of Siren on PS3 that I've played. For once a survival horror with some good acting lol.

It also doesn't feel so archaic and old. It actually has way less meaningless wondering around for one thing, there's always a new objective and the UI is pretty good. Quite an under-rated game

I was huge oldschool RE fan. I bought RE 1 day 1 and i have all RE games except 5 ( i sold it after i finished chap 3. what a CRAP ) Top 3 considering their time of release. 1. Resident Evil Code Veronica ( Dreamcast - 2000 ) --> When this released it was on another level than RE:nemesis. Best RE by far. 2. Resident Evil 2 ( playstation - 1998 ) ---> Nuff said. Tremendous game 3). Resident Evil remake ( Gamecube - 2002 ) ---> Re1 was epic . Remake was x2. Whats better than the original with x100 better graphics and new additions ? Resident evil 4 was the start of the downfall. RE4 was ok , RE5 was bad... and RE6... will be Gears of war go zombie mode. No thnx.AzatiS

that game was awful but i remember getting it because i was in full fanboy mode.

It's definately between RE2 and REmake, love them both soooo much...

Res 1 2 3 were classics

anything past that was good

now its just made to invite more people to play them though

When people say they ran out of ammo in RE2 it makes me laugh out loud. Must be noobs playing it. I was playing those games when they released and knew how to play - don't shoot everything.

Best RE yes but the best survival game is Silent Hill and I'm not alone in this.

oh man game is utter trash. I remember renting it. Though if I had own it I dont think I would have sold cause I doubt someone would buy it off me:P and the fact its sometimes interesting to have something like this in your collection. No matter how bad it is.

What i dont understand is why Capcom doesnt remake RE2 and RE3? They are the ultimate milk factory, but they dont remake them? They can charge 60 bucks and people will pay for it. It really is strange considering how much Capcom loves to steal money from its customers.
