Was the dual shock designed for Non-humans?

The thing is so awkward, like sleeping on rocks covered with nails.

Its unnatural and doesn't fit your hands correctly.

It only feels decent if you use the 1 and 1 buttons, if triggers are used...thats where things feel bad, expecially shooters that use the triggers for fire.

I guess the blame should be the small handles.

for the majority of other titles its works well, with the 2 and 2 buttons only used for certain things. those things need to be placed higher about the same hight as the 1 1, buttons...to feel better.

Sony should have redesigned it for the PS3 and not use the same controller for 3 generations.

I actually think the boomarang design would have felt great, too bad sony was forced to change it..due to the MANY complaints.

Like the xbox 360 controller much better though.

Dualshock is still the best controller ever, imo. The 360 controller takes a close second, but for me, the Dualshock remains more comfortable.

I just got the Dualshock 3 today. The only problem w/ it is that it uses the Sixaxis' L2 and R2 buttons, which are inferior to the PS2 Dualshock's ones.

What size are your hands? Fits mine perfectly, I prefer the DS3 to the 360 controller.

Same could be easily said for the ps1-ps2 upgrade, which again, begs to ask why one of the points of insult towards the ps3 is they didn't change the controller enough, which is a very odd insult, the answer is of course "why fix what ain't broken, they were going to, people wanted what's comfortable, so, they went with it, Sony listens to their fanbase"

the controller for the 360 is way better than the xbox one. its smaller and the black/white button change is very well done. the black/white buttons were in a crap position. and the simple small changes are there for a reason: why change a great concept?

ps3 DS controllers arent that bad btw, but I prefer the 360 for sure. the analog sticks are in a better position imo and it fits my hands perfectly.

No the difference was that they made the wrong changes, they knew that they had to fix the controller especially for FPS's, but they couldn't so they came back to point A.

No the difference was that they made the wrong changes, they knew that they had to fix the controller especially for FPS's, but they couldn't so they came back to point A.

I still don't know who's hands are too big for the ps3 controller, I'm 6'4, and it fits mine fine, not sure about the FPS issues, I don't like the FPS genre.

TBH!.... in my opinion the xbox and ps controlers are VERY Similar any way, four face buttons, two analogue sticks, (xbox has an ofset one) and now the xbox has the same shoulder buttons as the P.S pretty much, just implimented better triggers realy,

I personally have found both of the Xbox controllers difficult to use. I never had a problem with any of Nintendo or Sony's controllers. I've always felt the most comfortable with a Dual Shock, just feels right.

Probably one of the rare few, I suppose...

any controler sux for any shooter, mouse owns them anyday in anygame. really the only significant difference between the dual shock and x360 controller is the 360 has better triggers and some people prefer the stick placement while other like the dual shock stick arangement better

Well yeah but most of us dont want to spend $3000 on PC's so the 360 is by far the next best option for FPS games.

Anyway the only controller that I can ever remember having a hard time getting used to was the original Xbox controller. The big duke or whatever it was called.

It is kind of interesting though that what the dualshock is right now was made mid generation on the original PlayStation after the Nintendo 64's joystick was standard. I'm sure everyone remembers this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Playstation_Controller.jpg

I personally prefer the Dual Shock over the original Xbox mini and especially the 360 controllers. I prefer the Xbox mini controllers over the 360 ones, there is something about them. They just don't feel right. Stick placement is fine on the Dual Shock, I don't see why people winge about it.

Xbox fanboys and fans of the controller are pretty quick to have a go at Sony fans about the boomerang and how shoddy they all think the Dual Shock is, but are pretty quick to forget this abomination.
