GTA V will win it easily.

As much as I liked the previews of Watch Dogs, I couldn't help but notice that everything seemed very scripted. I doubt it will be nearly as open and free as GTA V.

I will buy them both, but I expect to still play GTA V in 4-5 years, can't say the same about Watch Dogs.

If GTAV is like GTAIV then the missions will be f*cking scripted as hell. GTA gameplay is same ol' chasing some guy and then kill/beat the crap out him, whereas WD is much more fresh.

I mean the presentation seemed very scripted, and everything unfolded too perfectly. Seems a bit fishy, like the bullsh*t FC3 or Alien CM gameplay.

I don't care if the missions in GTA V are pretty scripted as well, the freeroam gameplay itself is just the best in GTA, no game comes close

AC series was pretty suck, but Far cry 3 surprised a lot of people and managed to win GOTY over the popular ME series.

I expect the same results this year

Well they are pretty well made champ even if you have a personal dislike for some parts  well... except GTA IV. That had sh!tty mission design

seanmcloughlin

...ans shitty camera angles when driving cars :(

Watch Dogs>>> GTA5 imo

Why were they sh!tty? just hit select a few times and drag it back out from the car and it was perfect

No it was not perfect, i wanted an angle to be somewhere between 2 "select hitting"-modes...you could change camera with (right?)analog stick to get it perfect but you had to hold it there which i could not do whole time..

Both look great, but if I had to pick one it'd be GTAV.

I think Watch dogs will flop, the last gameplay trailer looked gimped graphics wise than the other showings for it. Gta5 looks like its gone half cell shaded or something, looks really good, really huge world.

I really liked Assassin's Creed II...I think that is the only Ubisoft game I've bought though.

GTA IV has the perfect camera for an open world game :| it's never blocked by anything, you have many options to choose from, the fov automatically adjusts when you look up. I've yet to see another open world game with a camera as good as this

Watch Dogs looks much fresher. The main character will probably be much better too.

Plus a lot more silly videos from you with GTA V which should be fun to watch. ;)

Camera is only bad when driving cars m8, other times it is just fine.

More interested in Watch Dogs since it's not set in a retro theme. Also the graphics in WD spanks GTAV hard.

Yep, because GTA V is too superior to be compared to it's own clones.

Psh the Saints Row devs are super lazy, recycling the same city, same assets. SR 1 & 2 had the same city, in SR2 they just increased the size, SR 3 & 4 have the same one again. At least Ubisoft creates new cities with their yearly milkage of Assassin's Creed.

To think that this lazy milkage can even come close to GTA IV lol

If you like being milked by lazy devs thats up to you of course...

SR is trying way too hard to be crazy and over the top. It has become just stupid and gets boring very quickly. I'd take any of the 3D GTAs over Saints Row any day.

GTA V will have a realistic shot at being GOTG

Lazy devs? GTA has been the same since GTA 3..at least Saints Row changes elements of the game while all Rockstar can do is provide "improved" cel shaded graphics discovered many years ago

No it hasn't, GTA has evolved far more than Saints Row in many other ways than just graphics.

And to insinuate that Rockstar is as lazy as Volition  while they're among the few devs that actually release complete games with hundreds of hours of content... Even Ballad of Gay Tony and The Lost and the Damned, which were only expansions had so much new content; New weapons, new vehicles, new 10 hour story line, new minigames, new locations, new multiplayer modes, completely new radio stations and all that for a couple of bucks.

On the other hand you have Volition who makes an expansion, reuses the same city, adds a couple of stupid vehicles and weapons and aliens and sells it for 60$.

Whatever floats your boat. I've had hundreds of hours of fun in multiplayer freeroam mode alone. For me it's much more fun to mess around in a somewhat realistic city, play around with the physics etc. than to have try hard whacky stuff shoved into my face every other second.

Volition has no clue how to make a fun world to explore. As soon as i finished the story in SR3 that was it. GTA games give me years of replay because of how fun the world is to run or drive around and destroy shit. There is nothing else as good as GTA.

SR3 had awful mission design. Over-the-top doesn't equal good. I'm sick and tired of this recent trend. The GTA games is like gourmet food while Saints Row is a ham burger from McD.

I found GTA IV. WAY, no wait, WAY MORE enjoyable than any of the SR games, the game looks like as if it was targeted at swearing spoiled 10 year old's, everything is so immature.
