Half Life 2 stayed pretty much on the mysterious side all the way through episode 2.General_X
eh, not really. I didn't find half life 2 that suspenseful.

There are a ton of unanswered question left in the HL2 series: -Who/what is the G-man -What's going on at the Borealis -What are the Advisor's and what are they planning -When's Freeman gonna hook up with Alyx :P -etc .etc.I would rather see a "Family Matters" or "Charles in Charge" video game,if they're gonna make games based off of TV shows.
[QUOTE="SpinoRaptor24"][QUOTE="GrilledCharlie"] Uhhh...Lost was a complete story before they ever shot a single scene. That is why it is so good. JJ Abrams wanted to end it in season 5, and ABC asked him to stretchit out into a sixth season.5 seasons is already too much. A short, well told story with a satisfying closure>>>>>Long, dragged out stories with unnecessary cliffhangers as a poor reason to keep you watching. Lost is the equivalent to a good book, just not a children's book. A good book is tough to put down, just like Lost is tough to stop watching. I find that a certain intelligence level tends to enjoy Lost. Lost takes effort that people with narrow minds and short attention spans just aren't willing to put into it. I don't blame them...I mean Spongebob is probably on around the same time.GrilledCharlie
What?
Lost takes effort for the intelligent?
You really think some muddled, absurd plot with cheesy/annoying characters is good challenge for the great minds?
Were you satisfied when you found out that some mechanism deep underground was altering time, explaining the island's strange behavior? Or when some of the crews disappearance was due to a giant smoke monster eating them?
Did your brain get a good workout when some characters were killed and came to life with little to no explanation?[QUOTE="ujjval16"] See thats what i mean. Even someone with a low IQ keeps up with video games stories pretty easy. Im not talking about you ujjival16, just giving an example. And yeah Lost can be confusing sometimes, but thats what makes it so good. Drakes_Fortunethe quality of storytelling does not depend on someones iq :| anyone can keep up with any old robert louis stevenson book but it doesent mean they arent great storys.
[QUOTE="lawlessx"]You know nothing about lost.so you want developers to include meaningless plot elements in the game to help boost how mysterious it is?
Drakes_Fortune
A game with a lot of plot twists that make you go WTF and that not everybody gets to understand?? Try MGS2 ;)
Plot twists isnt really the word. Its more suspense, and the way it creates many theories on all the mysteries. Thers no game like that. i call BS , silent hill 2 man, you dont KNOW how many years i spent theorizing over that game, if you havent played it already , do it nowLost is the equivalent to a good book . . .I find that a certain intelligence level tends to enjoy Lost. You people always seem to assume that convoluted story elements equates to something deep and epic.Thank you for confirming my point. :)
Also, read more books. Seriously.

Lost has so many literary references and elements that most people aren't well-read enough to catch them. Lost is extremely deep, and you are apparently one of those people who got confused, which made you mad, and so you just try to cover your frustration with Lost bashing. My mom, who has a PHD in english, and is also a literature professor can't stop watching Lost. I myself have a degree in electrical engineering, and would consider myself very well-read. My brother has a degree in creative writing, and has been creative editor for several documentaries, and he is addicted as well. It's ok if you just don't get it. The world needs ditch diggers too. At least you can continue watching Jersey Shore, huh?Lol, pretentious much?Way to further confirm his point.

That's right, nothing is good enough for the masters of narrative that are.....the gamers. Except blue aliens. Also the game, you just lost it.[QUOTE="Dystopian-X"][QUOTE="Drakes_Fortune"]Jeez alright whatever. Go save the galaxy with your bald space marine then.psn8214
Lulz.

Convoluted story telling makes it good? jk jk ( I do not feel that way about the overall story). Then MGS4 should be the pinnacle of great story telling. As for good stories in a video game TC obviously never played PlaneScape Torment, XenoGears and Final Fantasy Tactics (PSP version).Lol I'm probably gonna get made fun of for this but, does anyone else find it really hard to keep up with LOST's plot?

At least you can continue watching Jersey Shore, huh? Love all the fine examples you're presenting and the total lack of self-praising insults. Keep digging that hole you've already gotten yourself into, champ. And I thought Lost was already buried and forgotten... I don't know how the series are stacking up at this point, but I didn't enjoy much of the little I saw from it. Then again I didn't saw enough for the characters to develop properly.
The reason why it didn't interest me so much, was because the series pretty much felt like another, less interesting version of the Lord of the Flies.
