Welp, the Xbox One is the best built and best looking console this gen!

All those VCR jokes I made pre PS4Xone launch? Well I should have been fucking quiet.

I have no interest in the Xone but lets give credit where credit is due, Microsoft has completely outclassed its competition when it comes to build quality and design language across their entire Xone brand line-up.

They are officially the only current company that gives a shit about offering mid to high end materias and finish in their products. Sony being dead last even next to nintendo. Who would have thought?...

Remember when Sony had quality control and even their low end products felt solid and visually well thought out? Yeah well that department has apparently been fired because the PS4 is a cheap fealing, cheap looking, flimsy machine built from fast degrading materials. It hums when its turned off. Sound insulation practically doesnt exist. Interior materials are thin, cheap looking and easy to break...

And the latest redesign now has even more of that horrible matte plastic and loose Kinder Egg plastic buttons instead of touch sensitive ones that at least pretend to be fancy. I like the system but fucking hell the build quality is some chinese knock-off type shit. Horrible.

So props to MS for caring about people who value good taste and quality build in their electronics. I wish Sony cared half as much instead of ordering flea market components for a goddamn multi-use, "media center" device.

I'm a casual gamer these days and my DS4's battery is already next to dead. The plastic shells dont align, the back sticker is faded, the triggers squeak and the rubbers are polished off and slippery. I play like 10 hours a weak at the most ffs. My PSone Dual Shock is in better shape, I shit you not.

The white console and controller looks far better than the black version's of the Xbone.

The gloss black X1 is a magnet for dust and finger prints. That white is much more appealing as would quite a few other shades.

I will say that I would gladly trade my PS4 in for a "fat" version using a case design similar to the Xbox One. The Xbox One is the quietest modern disc based console I've owned. Large quiet fans > small loud blowers.

The white Xbox One is a thing of beauty, and that Elite controller makes me hard.

Agreed. I just upgraded from my 500 GB blackie to the limited edition 1 TB Forza 6 system and think it is pure sexy.

The white X1 looks so much better than the original. That controller is awesome, but I wouldn't pay $150.00 for it. I won't buy a second PS4 or X1 controller for $60, as I think that is a ridiculous price for a controller.

I agree 100%....the PS4 looks cheap and my damn pads on the thumbsticks on the controller are ripping off already.

My day one X1 controller survived a 1 year old dropping it on the hard floors so many times....it was amazing the punishment it was able to endure ( I hide them now though )

Even the packaging of the Xbox One is premium as hell. And the system itself? A tank and is quiet as a mouse.

What I don't understand is the criticism that it looks like the VCR, and then those exact same people turning around to praise the PS2, which looks more like a VCR than an Xbox One ever will.

I wanted to do that, but I just got a 2tbhdd for it, and I already bought forza at launch so nothing was playing in my favor. Only limited edition console I ever wanted as well.

Not sure about looks, but in terms of build quality the Xbone is better than PS4 imo... including the controller.

It looks like a dvd player whereas the xbone looks like a VCR.

I always thought the ps2 looked like a dvd player as well, probably because they included one at launch and at the time it was a big selling point.

Yeah, I don't know about "rock solid". Neither the PS4 nor the Xbox One look like they could take much of a beating.

I love the Lunar white controller it's one of my favorites and it is nice they have that grip material in the back like the Forza 6 controllers they should make that standard on the other ones.

The PS4 is well built and pretty thick despite being plastic. The Xbox One feels hollow, like they wasted a lot of space in the box for some reason.

I have the Lunar White controller for my PC gaming. And it is sexy as hell, and the rubberized grips are a real nice feature :)

I'm more concerned with what's on the inside than how it looks on the outside. I'll be the first cow to admit that I'd take the white Xbone behind the middle school and get it pregnant (bonus points to anyone that can recognize the reference).

I agree! Lunar White does look sexy as hell, plus I have do like how my Xbox One looks when combine to my home theater system!

The hollow space (and large low rpm fan) is about cooling. It's a good thing the PS4 is nice n' thick though, wouldn't want that blower fan to cause it to take off and fly out of my entertainment cabinet!

Still, I doubt either one would fare well in drop tests.

When I first saw the topic I thought what the hell was this guy smoking but now I actually agree with TC, he makes very valid points. The xbox one has a much better build quality than ps4 but it doesn't look as good from afar.
