That's not an argument. That's a fact, a way of life, reality, whatever you wanna call it. I have a pretty decent sized game collection, and I got many of my retail console games for as cheap or cheaper than steam offers them at summer and winter sales. That said, Steam's summer sale this year sucked.

Where?
You stated that you regularly buy new releases at $5-$15. Where would you do that? Other than trading in older games for that price.
Also, you may want to prove you bought them for that price, otherwise the statement falls flat.
CheapAssGamer, Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Craigslist are pretty much what I alternate between.
I've literally bought around 100 or so console games for way cheaper than I should have gotten them for.
Here are just some examples, just from 2012. All brand new, sealed, original factory V shape seal.
Kingdoms of Amalur $5 bucks for both the PS3 and PC versions.
Dragon's Dogma for 360 $15 bucks
The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition for 360 $10 bucks
Starhawk $15
Resident Evil Revelations $20
SSX on PS3 for $10
SoulCalibur V on PS3 for $10
Street Fighter X Tekken on PS3 for $15
Twisted Metal for $20
And actually a lot more games. I'm not going to list them all, I'd be here all day.
BTW, I don't give a damn if people believe me or not about this. What do I have to gain or lose if people think I pay full price for those games or I don't? It's not that big of a deal. It's just that everytime my friends talk about how they get cheap games on Steam, it seems like every single time I got the same exact game for cheaper at retail.
