As for "PS3 out selling"... does it matter to consumers and developers in NA/EU that the PS3 had a remarkable 12:1 advantage in Japan, which allowed it to "catch" the 360? Is a western developer, who makes games for western audiences, suddenly going to start making games for a console that only dominated in Japan?
The answer, of course, was "no", which is why there was a whole new category of games for that gen: "PC360" - games that just skipped the PS3.
Oh, the other ownage I remember is when a "Hello Kitty" game for the game cube was reviewed at the same time as Killzone, and Hello Kitty scored higher.
I think Forza4..Triple AAA on lock only to AA FLOP. Took special mod intervention to moderate the use of the word flop as lems were reeling from the ownage and the word FLOP actually hurt their feelings.
I got suspended for saying FLOP...lol, good times.

Wasn't around when TP, but i was here when Skyward Sword ... i do remember some pretty funny things and the worst part was that i knew McShea was right about the game, but as a sheep, i had to defend the game.
Anyways ... even with all that, i have to choose the Xbox One reveal.
My favorite was when I came in and owned this thread.
(Honestly, though, I kind of miss Tom McShea's killjoy reviews. He was a good writer. Also, an 8.9 is a good score for Twilight Princess. It got an 8.9 on Gamecube. I like the game a little bit more than that, but it was still a good score.)

Lol I remember one time I got a cow banned and he made an alt-account named "Jaydanlemming" or something like that to pose as me but in the same mannerisms of the individual that just got banned. That honestly gave me a good laugh and that alt account lasted maybe 5 minutes before getting banned again.
Oh yeah, and that time when flag bombing was a thing, and I was constantly getting locked out of my account because cows were flag bombing me. I think the Gamespot mods/staff quickly learned that giving regular users the ability to basically suspend other users through flagging their posts was a bad idea.
Those were just a couple instances I've been personally affected from butthurt cows on this site.
I wasn't posting much in 2006 (not that I have ever) but I do remember TP getting the 8.8 even though I was only in middle school at the time. As well as Skyward Sword and Last of Us low reviews.
Reading this thread I feel like I missed several things.
I believe it was IPDaily- the car guy that super loved Xbox. I think at one point he posted the link to his actual wife's work profile to prove her existence. Hilarious.
Another thread I remember NathanDrakeSwag created admitting about how he bought an Xbox One just to play Forza Horizon 3 and was even calling it the superior console for a month or so there. The guy posted shit about Xbox in every thread possible most of the time.
I remember a lot of rage and banter from E3 days. Arguments about who won. Of course the PS3 and Xbox One. The E3 before the WiiU launched had a lot of people laughing when Nintendo's big finale was Nintendoland- of course much to my dismay because at that point I was a bonfaide sheep.
There was another poster who wouldn't stop posting about how essential the Xbox One was for him because of something FIFA related LIke Fifa Legends or Ultimate Team or something he was putting hundreds of dollars into annually. I don't think it ever made big waves but I thought that was so funny.

I had a chain of it like 5 flag bombings in a row. Davillain would unlock my account and then I would get flag bombed again. It was going on like that for a decent while until they removed that ability altogether.

That reminds me when I was in a cock fight with another user, and I don't even remember what it was all about, but I just remember how obnoxious he was and he was trying hard to prove himself to me, I think trying to prove he was manlier than me or something like that.
He posted a picture of himself and his wife and told me to post a picture of myself too. And I was like "you just doxxed yourself and your wife before asking if I'd even agree to that?"

Would get way upset over the dumbest shit. Towards the end he got ultra butthurt that the mods wouldn't sticky his KoF14 hype thread. The whole point of stickies was lost on him, not like it's some badge of honor. When I tried explaining it to him, said I'm a KoF hater and maybe even a fighting game hater. 😂
It’s funny to think that The Last of Us been reviewed on here three times and has received an 8/10 every time. Then the sequel got an 8 as well. Lol.

I think most posters have caught the big events. 2013 X1 reveal was really the last episode. Nothing's topping that and the mass exodus that it caused, not even zelda:TP.
If we're getting into individual posters, there was this poster named ownage_god i believe (with zeros I recall) and another extreme playstation fanboy (forgot their username) who both used solid snake avatars. Ownage_god and this poster would do drive-by posts in threads writing some of the most vile shit in the PS2 days. It shocked me everytime but it was hilarious. I think he got banned before the next gen started. Anyone remember what caused it?

They had a short fuse for real. They also would painstakingly try to take credit for 'discovering' demon's souls or whatever because he and bioshockownz I believe imported the game from japan before the western release or something. Correct me if I'm wrong. I didn't give him credit or something and he started pming me. I may have cash mixed up with someone else here.
I enjoyed the 360 trouncing the ps3 in that generation. Sony grew arrogant with quips like, "the generation doesn't start until we say it does...." then they threw turds against the wall for like 2 years before their bloated, poorly designed cell processing ps3 finally started moving. In that time, Xbox established the entire tone of the generation and ps3 played the reactionary role for years to follow. Those times were fun.

All I remember of him being upset with Stevo and it got him banned which was way before my time as a mod.
Also, I'm kinda surprised anyone here hardly remembers StrongBlackVine as that guy gets super upset whenever someone talks down on Sony's PS4. I too forgot how he got banned in the first place?
One user that I remember was that Arbiter guy (I think that was his name) who was a massive Sony fanboy and the meltdowns that he was causing was always great. He tried to prove to everyone here that he gets laid so posted a picture of himself kissing a girl and everyone was mocking it until he ragequit Gamespot.
He was also a Youtuber and yeah I remember how how hateful he was in his stupid videos. Don't know if he also left Youtube now but anyways he was a total joke.

8.8 was the single biggest piece of ownage. No doubt. People got enraged over that. But The love story between a man and his PS3 made me laugh. People taking the review score too far, made the 8.8 a lot less funny however.
