Isometric view? You don't need that, over the shoulder is better. You can't see how cool the fight looks from that far.

lol this is actually how console players will play the game.:D

from Neogaf, funny thread

.

.

.

.

What about the dialog tree. Now that's fun.

Baldur's Gate, exclusive pc game from Bioware

.

.

DA:O. Multiplatform with heavy pc influence

.

.

DA2. The game players are considering buying for consoles over pc because it plays "better".

It is ultimately the developers fault, but they are doing it for a more simplistic audience on the consoles.

Sigh....if you don't get what you want, blame console gamers - seems to be a ridiculously popular trend over here now. Blame Bioware, enough people enjoyed DA:O on consoles. Also that Baldurs Gate dialogue tree is ridiculous :P

So is DA2 if the demo is any indication... just in the other direction.

Sad thing is, I could probably read all of that before a character in DA2 finishes his/her lines.

Wouldn't have changed if it wasn't for console gamers complaining, so it literally is their fault. You can look at the surface of the problem, or you can look at the root, and console gamers who need more simplistic combat are to blame.

That ain't the combat though, by that i mean it does not represent the full game's combat. That's from that dudes story in the first segment, it's supposed to be like that because you're playing in that particular story the dude is telling, and he's lying and overreacting. It's supposed to be that way. Combat will be more normal, in standard gameplay.

C'mon, man.. i ain't even planning to buy DA2, i don't care about that game. I still have to finish DA:O, and i have plenty of mods for it.. And even i can know what's going on.

As for the rest of your points.. well..

Bioware is tryin to make some money off console gamers. Just because they severely dumbed down the complex dialogs to a laughable point, doesn't mean it ain't gonna be fun..

I guess...

Either way, i don't really care, hundreats of mods for DA:O awaits me.

On Bioware forums. This is actually pure fact. Official forums were swarmed with complaints on the combat.

I heard they said changes were based off some fan reactions, I don't blame fans really, moving DA from PC to multiplatform without many changes resulted in a game mostly built for PC, that console games could not enjoy as much. They just should not have made everyone suffer for it.

Cute. The combat is pretty much the same damn thing except you gotta press the A(or whatever button it is for the PC/PS3) more. I like it that way. It keep me focus on the game. The original just put me to sleep.

For me DA2 >>>>>>>>>>> DA origins.

Indeed. Mass effect was supposed to be the dumbed down rpg while DA is like their past pc games.

BioWare said that even though Origins was more of a PC game it still ended up selling better on consoles. It seems logical that they would put more of a focus on the console versions. I'm getting it for PC just like Origins and I really like all the changes they made.

Well, I'll be playing it on the PC.

1. I pre-ordered it, cancelling is a non-starter.:P

2. It's a BioWare game, and it beats the heck out of Activision.

3. Perhaps with enough threads on the BioWare forums, some good tweaks will be coded into patches for PC gamers.

On PC it could get pretty rough and require a decent amount of strategy for certain fights, pausing between attacks and such. There was nothing really to mash.

That's a shame, I never personally liked baulder's gate style games, got the original when it first came out and never got more than a few hours into it. I can definitely see the appeal for people who enjoy that style of rpg though.

Anyone know the sales figures for the original? I thought the pc version sold more.

I am sure the feedback was from both PC and console gamers. Although developers do take feedback from the community, they do what they feel is best for the franchise. There is no one to blame BUT the develepors.

I don't think it makes sense to blame console gamers because the new game sucks. Console gamers wanted change, they dind't want a crappy game, if developers can't take fan feedback and use it to IMPROVE their title then they are to blame, not the players.

From what I understand, there were less enemies in the console versions, as well as combat being made easier/more mashable.

D&D system in the Infinity engine? I like it, a bit more strategic, and it adds to my variety of play st.yles. I feel that if i play to much of the same thing, i get bored of gaming fast. Playing something different always fixes that up for me. That's why i play a lil' bit of all st.yles. I don't particulary dislike anything, i love almost every genre & st.yle of gameplay out there.

Except racing games.

There are differences, from a lot of discussions I've heard that the game was obviously made harder on PC by a number of factors. I haven't played the console ones, cause gross. But that was what I understood, when I saw some people complaining about the game being too easy, and I remembered my party getting itself killed quite quickly, I searched around, and it seems to be consensus that because its easier to control on PC, it was toned down on consoles.

I only know of a couple factually, but the rest makes sense i guess.

If they do release mods, it's possible the camera can be modified. Mods don't replace the game's original coding, it's a simple override.

Yes because reading hours of dialogue before you choose one to be read aloud is MUCH better then an actual good dialogue system that gets the point across. Apparently consoles can't do that, except for in Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Oblivion and all those other games on consoles that do just that and are no better off for it.

From what I understand, there were less enemies in the console versions, as well as combat being made easier/more mashable.

if you can provide a link i will agree till then i honestly doubt the console had less enemies then the pc versions and i played it on the pc and console and the combat was exactly the same, le click, le press button to attack and press it repeatedly till enemy is dead. same thing.
