What do you think is the worst thing that has happened during this gen?

Or progressed into being a bad thing this gen is more or less what i am saying.

I say dlc. Some times its done nicely or correct like burnout paradise. they gave a lot of good free content and are putting out good packs as well that cost money. but it seems like this the ridicious amount of map packs that are usually about 10 bucks a pack for 3 or 4 maps and there end up being like 2 or 3 of these during many games life spans like cod waw, gears, gears 2, halo 3, im sure modern warefare 2 will have it. i mean compared to the pc where much of the dlc that are maps can usually end up being free i think it sucks for console gamers. but its not just this but charging for gamerpics, themes, clothes, also who can forgot the horse armor. obviously none of this we are forced to buy but i still think its defiantly something that hurts on the consoles especially on the 360.

What do you think is a bad thing about this gen?

Crap DLC(not the good ones), the loss of emphasis on SP games, Sony pricing thier console at 600, 8 HOURS GAMES WOW and that's about it for me.

GS overrating every FPS

Clover Studios getting ShutDown. I know they didnt make any current gen games but it happened in 2007 and i think we could have had even more amazing titles had they still been around. Luckily we have platinum games now as they're pretty good.

The Wii.

DLC, its ruining gaming imo. Companies release halfmade games, only to release the rest of the content to make more money, Resident Evil and Street Fighter IV being the worse cases here.

The announcement that there would be ANOTHER MGS game. They should have just left the series end with 4. Then again, maybe 5 will revolve around a different character. Maybe... LIQUID!?!

RROD, Sony initially selling the PS3 at $600 dollars, Games being priced at $60 dollars rather then $50, Rabid Fanboys the likes we haven't seen since Nintendo vs Sega. Pricing seems to be a real problem for the consoles this generation.

I don't think DLC, Digital Distribution, or Motion Controls are a bad thing. sure there have been a lot of FPS's on the market, but i remember in the past when all we had were platformers, then RPG's, now it is FPS and Casual games. there always seems to be a genre that dominates. I frimly believe that if Motion Controllers were properly executed, it can encompass more then just the casual markets.

the one really good thing.... the 360 and PS3 are here to stay for the long haul.
