Lack of RPGs and Qualtiy RPGs (theres a few good ones but the rest pretty much bombed)
Lack of exclusives
The Witcher rise of the white wolf, being canned (/cry)
Games that we've been waiting for 3 years ish and it takes 8 hours to fully beat it...
DLC is especially bad when, even before the game is released, the developers give out detailed information about future DLC packs. See for example Infinity Ward announcing map packs for MW2 before it's even relased.
That's a huge ripoff IMO. If they know what content they are going to have, why not add it to the freaking game before releasing??
"600 American dollars..."GodofBigMacs
lol, yeah that was a good move by sony.
dlc definitely is up there, it's good sometimes, but it's also turning into a joke. like sims 3 lets take out furniture and objects from the game and sell them on an online store.
map packs too, the original game ships with like 5 maps, then every couple of months they release 4 more for 800 points.
1. RROD. 2. Lair. 3. Motion Control. 4. TEH PC gaming is dead!. (every gen tbh). 5. Sony arrogance. 6. Excited kid playing that drum game for the Wii I think during last year's E3. (LOL!) 7. Lack of inspring creative games. 8. This gen has been so weak compared to the last one.expandedLittle Big Planet, Flower.............i tink thats it :D

..and? You're not even getting shafted. Most of you cry about how developers knew they were gonna make DLC and should've included it into the game but this is nothing. It's just for the lazy people who don't feel like playing through the game.
most games are generic FPS games or sports games this gen, hence why I have less games for my current gen system

Your sig is dumb.
Of course Halo 2 was going to get rated poorly, it changed nothing in the PC port and it was released 3 years later, in the same year where games like Crysis and STALKER came out.
too many first person shooters
not enought rpgs
natal
dlc
rrod
sony original 500 and 600 price
the wii having major sucess
thats pretty much my answergamers complaining more and moreMeowmixxviwe have good reasons, especially after paying for our consoles and games.....
[QUOTE="xbox360isgr8t"] What do you think is the worst thing that has happened during this gen?
My house being broken into and my 80GB PS3 with BC and all ten games I had for it being stolen.Dude that's the 2nd time I've read you post that, and it makes me cringe. My sincerest condolences, bro.Clover Studios getting ShutDown. I know they didnt make any current gen games but it happened in 2007 and i think we could have had even more amazing titles had they still been around. Luckily we have platinum games now as they're pretty good.
shutdown_202
one of the sadest moments this gen D:
other then that.

bland gray and brown games short games that are all about graphics extreme focus on multiplayershadow_hosiAgreed. + the usual paying for DLC.
1. DLC
2. RROD
3. Developers thinking that making prettier versions of what we've beenplaying for the las 20 is enough.
4.Sony removing BC from PS3
5. Fanboys saying that company A is destroying the industry because more people are insterested in what company A has to offer than what companies B or C offer. There are some out there (and you know who you are) that think that if you don't like the same things as them you're not a real gamer, you're some sort of imaginary gamer that's gonna force companies at gunpoint to stop making hardcore games.
6. Over saturation of the FPS market.
7. Developers that think the only colors M rated games come in are Gray, Brown and Bloom.
I think the best thing to happen this gen besides realizing that there's more to improving our interactions with games besides just making them prettier, is the rise of game rankings and meta critc. The review for GTA4, Zelda TP, Ratchet& Clank and Lost Winds on Gamespot more or less was a wake up call that the age of 1 game1 reviewer is over. A game in a genre you love may be reviewed by someone that hates that genre or vice versa. Looking at average review scores just makes more sense than blindly following the opinions of one person that doesn't know your tastes.

In order-
1. Motion controls
2. RROD
3. Shovelware and minigame collections
4. That a game has to have good graphics to be good:roll:
5. Generic FPSs
6. Sony's original $600 price point
Agreed also charging so much for stupid stuff that could've been free like Horse Armor (That should be free because nobody is stupid enough to pay for that.)DLC, its ruining gaming imo. Companies release halfmade games, only to release the rest of the content to make more money, Resident Evil and Street Fighter IV being the worse cases here.
Oakfront
Sony's fall from the top. The PS3 was the system I was looking forward to most, but its first couple of years were a drag. The high price forced me to buy a gimped version, and there were only a handful of games that really delivered, and many of them were multiplat. Although it's clawing its way back with some solid exclusive games, it's too late for me to care as I sold my PS3 months ago.
1. RROD
2. The fact my X-box had a banned Serial number when I bought it of E-bay
3. Fps oversaturation of the market
4.Bad DLC (Im looking at you Little Big plannet with your costumes, Home costumes, Map packs for WAW/KZ2/Gears etc. infact the only games that have done DLC right Imho are Fallout 3, Oblivion shivering isles ,Burnout and motorstorm:pacific Rift) I don't however mind the Classics of the Psn store or either PSn games ob XBLA.
5.The fact Sony and Microsoft is tacking on Motion Controls as a last minute job because it was sucsesful on a diffrent platform (I have a Wii it's good but im dissapointed in Ms and Sony for there lack of inovation)
6.Games costing 5 GBP more to buy (For some reason the pound button on my keyboards broke)
7.The fact Rare is slowly stagnating into a shadow of it's formy glory and hasn't produced a good gameinthe last 7/8 years.
8. Microsoft paying for exclusivity instead of investing in 1st party dev teams
9.Microsoft paying for exclusive DLC. (Just seems a bit anti competitive, I mean no-ones going to change stance in a console war over small pieces of DLC. it seems a big waste of money to me that could be spent well making a game, I mean 40 million for dlc exclusity would make a very very good game.)
10. The death of single player gaming
