What do you think of the new 360 dashboard?*updated*

It's a lot faster (in some areas) and clean looking, I think they ruined the guide button a little bit, but other than that I am happy. I can't believe some people still say they prefer the blades... so ugly compared to the NXE. I hope the next update has less dumb apps and more useful features (like party chat/install games) .

The new Netflix is fantastic, the new dashboard aesthetic is nice and clean, but there is less information presented at once. That's bad.musicalmac

Downloaded the UK version and not much has really changed to be honest. Its a lot quicker scrolling and it seems a bit sharper. I cant see what all the fuss is about?

Haven't used it yet, but looks like it runs smoother. And that everything is organized a bit better. Still looks pretty similar, not as huge of a new dashboard layout as the first new Xbox Experience (going from the old disc like layout to the new one). Will have to try it

I was able to download the update but can't sign on to XBL ... anyone else having the same problem?

I've been there from the start launch day I've owned 3 360s now a pro launch system that still works, an elite that died from e74 and was replaced in a week and 2 days by Microsoft and now a halo reach 360 slim.

I've been in every dashboard preview that Microsoft has offered to the public and Suffice to say your wrong the first major overhaul was slow, it lagged it wasn't fast from the start it was slow from the beginning the incremental update till now have improved it quite alot but did not get rid of the lag problems when it came to downloading masses of information constantly from xbox live. This update does not lag it does not chug.

Also I'm confused here I really am. What are you even talking about what am I defending? I'm defending the 360 with all my might by saying the updates were slow from the beginning...against you whom are saying they are fast out of the gate but then bog down under some false assumption of OS similarities with windows? Windows hasn't fallen to speed issues such as choked up registry since ME with proper care XP and later OS's did not fall under that flaw I had installs of XP that I kept running for months at a time without slowdown or shutdown the same with Vista and Windows 7 my current Windows 7 install on my laptop has been running since Windows 7 launched with no shutdown unless it was accidental or an update required restart...

If I understand correctly since this is sytem wars the discussion of other systems should be included, so you can't exclude the other systems. Otherwise it should be in the Xbox 360 board. although I agree that ArchoNils2 didn't answer your question, could have gave an opinion of the new dashboard instead of just saying "I'll still like the XMB more..."

Slightly annoyed that there's no ESPN in UK, we have ESPN HD/America here on Sky. I probably wouldn't watch it too often, but it'd be good for boredom.

For the most part, Im not really phased either way. I didnt know it improves the wireless connection though. I'll definitely take that.

It's okay, it gives a more "structural" feel if that makes any sense. :P

What the hell is ESPN anyway? And they wonder why the 360 is far less popular in (mainland) Europe...
They should offer these things abroad, otherwise this just a sore kick in the nuts for those required to update but unable to use those features.
And Kinect here (Europe) releases without voice-recognition with the exception of English, Spanish (?), and Japanese(?). No netflix also.
So what are 360 users in Europe paying for anyway?

I hate it. Looks like crap, stuff is loading VERY slow (game marketplace, for example) console has already frozen up twice since installing the update. :| Yeah, I don't like it at all.

Im not into it just yet, it feels like the loading times are longer.

I went to download a video and i had to wait like 30 seconds just to get to the page that lets me click the download button.

It wasnt like that before, hopefully it was a fluke, Im loving the ESPN thing though.

It looks nicer, but not spectacular. I like that it is faster though. I was in the beta so I had the new dashboard for the last few weeks :P
