Amazing games that return series to former glory (in my eyes)

I want to see Zelda ditch the SKyward Sword setup and go back to a more exploration based world, and take some leaps in areas we have yet to see from Zelda. I want that truely next gen, mind blowing, oldschool yet fresh and unique Zelda.

I want to see this same thing happen for Metroid as well as other IP's, in addition to new IP's.

Shinobishyguy

oldschool yet fresh?

thats a very very thin line to cross. I think something that just harkens back to oldschool zelda but modernized with all the stuff thats been introduced since then would be good.

I agree with you, though I thnk you may be misinterpreting what I define as fresh :P.

Well Wind Waker definitely had a better, more rich world to explore and a lot more to do outside the main story which, by the way, is the best Zelda story ever told and one of the most well constructed stories in gaming period. It's use of metaphor that extends beyond mere plot and enters into setting and every single NPC and sidequest is just masterful.

GreekGameManiac

Areyouf*ckingserious

The Wind Waker DID have the best story, but only just a little better than the others.

IMO it was vastly superior because it's the only Zelda story that went beyond just being a plot. It was a tale that had a purpose. It meant something.

Yes I am completely dead serious. It's hard to refute what I just said.

It's actually not, but you're so wrong I don't know where to start.

WW didn't have the best layout for the world, but it still has more to explore and do than TP. TP felt like a wasteland compared to other Zelda's, with little to do in it and not many interesting sidequest stuff. TP indeed has the best dungeons, bosses and possibly story/presentation, but its emptiness and boring towns are killer. Not to mention the drawn out opening, just like SS. If TP had more in it's world, more to do, and better towns it may be the best Zelda yet, but that is not the case :P.

The world in TP still felt more alive than it did in SS. Everything except Clocktown 0.5 felt dead and like a streched, dull dungeon. It never felt like a real Zelda game to me and the crappy controlls didn't help it either.

Oh well I fully agree there. TP had better exploration than SS no doubt.

All I want is a zelda game as massive as Skyrim, with a huge overworld, plenty of NPC's, lots of weapons magic, upgrades, armor and alot of towns and villages. Also non story related dungeons for sidequests or loot would be great. Just please nothing even remotely close to SS the absolute worst Zelda game of all times.

Starfox Adventures 2 would be nice and I'd love to see some more Travis Touchdown...

xath2305

Hell no, I would rather see a smaller but more well made world. A world that is large for the sake of being large is just a bore to travel through.

Skyrim world was large, but the world was so unfocused, soulless and repetitive so it was just bland all around. Quality>Quantity, and Zelda should focus on just that.

I ment massive in content and you do have plenty of that in skyrim. I agree an overworld as big as Skyrim wouldn't fit a Zelda game but I'd still like to see a huge overworld, maybe double the size of TP but FILLED with towns and other stuff to do. I would like to see more sidequests the scale of some of the bigger ones in MM and alot of collectibles. I really want to see a Zelda game that will give us 80-150 hours of play time, ever since MM I dreamed of a Zelda like that..

New IPs. I don't see Nintendo as the leading software creators like I used to. Even if you knew their new system would have no third party support, it was a guarantee that the games you did get would be some of the best games of all time. Recently, that's hardly been the case. Galaxy 2 was truly the last great Nintendo game. Skyward Sword was a disappointment, Other M was Other M, and the NSMB series is an ironic joke. The franchises are stale, and I think if they gave it enough time and money, they could create another truly spectacular franchise.

A true spiritual successor to Mario 64... with the castle (renovated) returning as the hub world.

Zelda HD - Larger Open World with more NPC's going about their business (ala. Skyrim style).... more focus on combat perhaps, something more to the likeness of Darksiders. ALSO - ONLY MOTION CONTROLS FOR AIMING BOW AND OTHER WEAPONS as an option. I don't want to be forced to use motion controls in any more Zelda games.

A Metroid Prime - Reboot..... Heck Metroid Prime HD REMAKE would be awesome too... but I'd prefer a new game.

I'd like to see another attempt at Donkey Kong Country in 3D.... basically take what made Banjo & Kazooie so great, and apply it to Donkey Kong COuntry.

AND for something new ---- I'd love to see Nintendo create their own huge Sci-Fi world as a FPS. Something deep with a rich backstory full of Lore. LIke a Space Opera.

For them to suddenly die off. Stop ruining the gaming world with all their gimmicky hardware and shovelware games.

You'll be in for a RUDE awakening when that time comes.

I don't think they'll do it, but that is what I want. It is the season of miracles. Beyond that I'm over Nintendo. Got an NES about 30 years ago, had every system since... but the luster wore off with the N64 and has diminished with each system since.

Miracles... until stuff like this, this, this, and this happens. (I know I'm being a bit of a broken record here, but still, the mess around the Sonic franchise should have taught us something about what would happen if Nintendo stopped making consoles and moved Mario/Zelda/Pokemon/etc to PlayStation/XBOX/PC would just make things worse, be it their own faults or the gaming community, once again, refusing to accept something Nintendo does, even if it's positive).

You claim to be over Nintendo and yet, you bring them up begging them to be a third party company? Yeah, that's not being exactly "over it".

As a Nintendo fan willing to try whatever they do (if I like it at least), I'd only have that just to shut everyone up and for them to save whatever dignity they have.

Pray and hope Bayonetta 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge sell well and you might see them. The last time Nintendo published "mature-oriented" games (by other developers such as Rare, Silicon Knights, and n-Space) didn't turn out so well. One game passed, while the rest bit them in the ass so hard, they REFUSED to publish their own M rated games for a while until Capcom (Resident Evil: Revelations), Tecmo/Team Ninja (Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge), and SEGA/Platinum (Bayonetta 2) let them publish their games.

What makes it even worse for Nintendo, even though third parties generally complain about their stuff not selling on those systems, most of whatever M rated games on there sell much better than ED ever did.

Sega had issues long before those games came into existence. Why do fanboys react so strongly? "BEGGING"? I'm not even strongly against, let alone strongly enough for to beg. Reactions like that always make people look desperate, any positive notion towards Nintendo and I'm on my knees praying they'll shine their light on me. To re-iterate: if Nintendo goes third party (Arcade, or Live) I think I could gain some interest in them, but only as DLC/Arcade titles. The average Nintendo game isn't long enough or deep enough to warrant $60.

A new IP that can be considered in the same vein of quality as their trinity games.

More good Ninty IPs in general.

More unique third party games like No More Heroes and such. Don't care too much about ports but ninty should try to hold onto more of those for the most part.

A new Pokemon game that utilizes the 3DSes potential. In other words, real 3D figures and so forth.

To actually deliver on their promises to cater more to the core audience, which includes a lot of what I said above.

A lot.

Mainly because of how great their games were in the past and the new generations deserve the great games too.

I would like to see stellar sequels to their all-time favourite franchises like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, F-Zero, Star Fox, Kirby, Donkey Kong, ect. but also new explorations and 3rd party support.

Ideally, the 3rd parties would make unique and interesting games for the Wii U rather than giving it what is already on other systems.

Of course, the 3DS should not be left out either.

Basically they should go by the motto "let the games do the talking".

All they need to do is have Retro make another Metroid Prime (in the style of the original, not that MP3 sh*t) and I would actually consider buying a Wii U. A Metroid Prime game with modern day visuals and physics would be epic.
