What does the 360 have that the PS3 doesn't?

For me the PS3 wins but not for the games. It simply has more in the hardware department. It has everything the 360 has and more. On launch it had wireless and bluetooth while the 360 didn't. The PS3 can play all manner of DVD's along with Blu-Ray's and all the 360 can do is play DVD formats. PS3 has free and a payable online service, giving gamers a choice. PS3 has more compatibility with plug in devices such as webcams etc. The PS3 also gives you more choice and options when connecting Surround sound systems. And more options to optimise picture quality for movies. There are many things like this that makes the PS3 the clear winner. I am not a fanboy by any means as I own both systems and actually really want a gaming PC because that platform is shining these days. I just only ever heard people complain about graphics and framerates but never that much about the hardware and which one offers more.

Same reasonwhy the PSP destroys the DS.

This. Definatly agree about the game updates and installs. I could download about 10 GB from XBL in the time it takes to download 1GB from PSN.

in 2005 2006 2007 and 2008 it had quite alot that the ps3 didn't.

i am glad that the ps3 has made such a stellar comeback against the 360 but come-on you can't seriously expect me to just forget what a joke of a generation this has been for sony just because after a long trudge through mediocrity the ps3 has finally managed to catch up.

congrats to sony on making up for lost time and all but lost time is lost forever.

i was playing stellar games on 360 FOR YEARS (literally FOR...YEARS...)before the ps3 even began to make headway back into this gen.

I will agree that the PS3 can be painfully slow with downloads and updates.

On a different note I said not games. I am talking about the hardware. The graphics/exclusive/multiplat arguements go on way too long and are just fanboys venting their opinions as fact. I am specifically talking about the PS3 has everything the 360 has and more too. Not to mention we got "Lovefilm" streaming to the PS3 recently and region oriented players for different countries like "4oD" in the UK.

What do you mean 360 has no games? A single platform owner won't care if a high quality game is on different platforms . So the 360 has had plenty of great games this year. Multiplat owners will go by preference. Most of the multiplats I own and will get go to the 360 (Portal 2 being the big exception) wuith Child of Eden,Deus Ex HumanRevolution,Gears of War 3 and Forza 4 on reserve, I have inFAMOUS, Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2 for PS3 with Twisted Metal, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3 and inFAMOUS 2 on reserve.

Actually when my old 360 scratched my game discs I'd have to install to my HDD so I could play the game.

Also had to install to minimize the risk of the disc tray overheating the console and getting the RROD

All I want to say is that the only reason I still possess an Xbox 360 is GeoW3. If I don't like the beta, I might not even get it and just sell the console on.

Microsoft have unfairly gotten a sizeable portion of the marketshare in the last six years which I don't believe they wholly deserve.

They were excellent last gen with the original Xbox which I absolutely adored despite it hideousness. But they've let me down majorly this gen.

Thank god for Bungie anyway, or I wouldn't own an Xbox now.

Thats completely subjective. I personally find the 360's counterparts to some big PS3 games to be better, i.e Forza > GT, Halo > KZ/Resistance Alan Wake > HR (though they're not that similar).
