2012's recent StarHawk was a big surprise for me, along with 2012's Twisted Metal.
I have yet to play Journey and Max Payne 3. I'm looking forward to nabbing Journey on sale at some point (I own the spiritual prequels).
Max I just have to make time for, I'm still finishing my 2011 backlog, so Max is on the bottom of my pile. I made an exception for MP titles...we'll see if Max gets a play this month. :P Diablo III is also on my list when I have the time. I need to retire from Star Wars : TOR to get some Diablo III action (along with Torchlight 2 when that drops).
Max Payne 3 came out of nowhere and is AWESOME, and i also was shocked that i liked Kingdoms of Amalur, considering how much i hate Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dead Island, etc etc.
Easily Journey. Then again, I've only played perhaps 3 games released in 2012, but I'm certain it'll still be one of the highlights of the year come award season.
Max Payne 3 -- one of the best single player shooters I've played this gen. Other than that, I've pretty much been playing nothing but games for years past, though Mass Effect 3 was far better than I expected it to be.
Guess it would be The Witcher 2 EE. Mass Effect 3 ended up being a huge disappointment and Super Monday Night Combat is free so I don't really count it.
i have yet to play a 2012 game other than masseffect 3 , there just so damned expensive i have to carefully ration out money to buy one, and right now im torn between diablo 3 and skyrim for pc as well as max payne 3
Only games I played that came out this year are ME3 and Kid Icarus. And ME3 had very disappointing ending, while I haven't played Kid Icarus more than 20 minutes to judge whether it is truly impressive or not. but since rest of ME3 has met my expectations, I'd say ME3.
Probably D3; I'm just having so much fun with it. Kid Icarus Uprising was a phenomenal game as well, and my favorite shooter in a while. I have to go with D3 just because of how much time I've been spending on it.
None really... well I guess in a way Journey, it impressed a half decent PSN exclusive released.

God it looked so sh*t. Especially that end boss fight...f*cking wheelchair man :lol:
You can't say how bad it is until you've played it yourself. It's one of those games. And it's also incredibly freaky...and I love horror titles. Almost as scary as SH2.

Wait so only 2012 games? ...Lame. I've been catching up on last gen games with SMT Persona 3 FES. It has impressed me so much I even bought the PSP version as well and I have no regrets.

Yes I do. I main Painwheel/Parasoul in case you were wondering that too. :P
It is quite active, but you're better off making unranked lobbies. Playing Ranked can be quite a pain because there are 8 different skill tiers and everybody is split up, so you end up waiting a little longer for matches.
Honestly so far this year has been terrible. Mass Effect 3 was good (but that ending sucked hard). Nothing else really. Currently playing Max Payne 3, but need to play it more before I can make a decision on it.
Mass Effect 3, or Fall of the Samurai. I hope Future Soldier can impress. Slightly irritated the PC version comes out a couple weeks later than the console version.
