What game impressed you with its graphics more than any other, ever?

We al know Crysis is currently king, and next year it will be Operation Flashpoint 2 (hopefully), or Uncharted 2, but what game left you most awestruck the first time you saw it in motion? I have to say Metal Gear Solid 2, simply because it was the only game ever to make me wet myself. Half-Life 2 comes in at close second because at the time physics like that weren't even conceivable to me. I remember showing my friends and saying "it looks just like real life." Crysis and some other recent lookers haven't blown me away like those games did during that time.

...and a few others.

All the games this gen impress me. I can even find some nice things in the lesser demanding games.

I have to go with God of War. When your looking for pandoras box and your walking on a Atlas back. You can see the screen move with every movement the Titan made. Oh my......that right there made God Of War my favorite Series ALLLLLLL TIME right there. Thats coming from an ole skool gamer since atari. Thats saying something. IIJuggaNottII

The blitzball Scene at the start of Final Fantasy 10...really..what would blow you away more than that.. Most games this gen don't really impress...Going from Ps1 to Ps2 was more impressive than going from the Ps2 gen to this generation. I'm not saying that the games this gen aren't impressive..they're fantastic...just not mind blowing like how i used to see the graphics of last generation.

Some GOW, Most Final fantasies, especially 9, First time i played Tekken Tag tournament, when you walk out of the water and the water was still dripping off you in windwaker..when i first saw that...man. The tiles in the burger shot where OG lock worked in San andreas on Ps2..that was pretty impressive for a ps2 game. Gran turismo 3...

Donkey Kong Country on Snes...i'm still impressed by those graphics today.

Halo 3 the ark basically puts that game on the top of my best graphics list this gen.

Half life 2 is also worth mentioning especially in episode 2 when you get out of the caves and see the combine army moving towards the resistance's base is justjaw dropping.

And I cant forget the GRAW series of games both of them took shading and explosions to a whole other level IMO.

Games that made me stop and go wow?

Final Fantasy XII, God of War, Oblivion, Gears, and the animations for Uncharted.

Games that impress me graphically? Pretty much all games this generation impress me. From Metal Gear Solid 4 to Overlord and plenty others. All look great.

...Yeah, 90% of the games released after the late 90's just can't seem to graphically "wow" me. They just aren't as impressive for their respective era.

P.S.O. for GC's graphics were awesome first time i saw them because i liked the slightly cartoony style

Battlefield 2 because it was so huge and at the time had awesome graphics

Gears of War 2, the underground lake level just had me:shock:

Oblivion, when it came out it was just amazing looking

The last ones to impress me are MGS 4 and Gears 2.
