Doom II on PC (my friend's PC, i couldn't afford one back then) in the mid-1990s and Doom on Sega32x (yeah I actually got one). During this time, it was during the 16-Bit era.

Goldeneye really, really broaden my FPS addiction.

Doom, but what really got me into it was Goldeneye, nothing beats 4 players with friends at the time, always had friends over playing that with me.

Goldeneye was the first one i got into, though Perfect dark was the first one i became addicted to. I would have friends over everyday and we'd play it for hours.

Probably playing Halo 1 back in 2001 at Christmas. Probably the most fun i've had playing FPS's have been from system link with a bunch of friends.

I'm not addicted to FPSs but the first FPS I played was Heretic on the PC I also played Doom II. PS1 I played Medal of Honor. On the N64 I played Goldeneye 007, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Turok 3: Shadows of Oblivion, and Turok: Rage Wars. On the Dreamcast I played Hidden and Dangerous (not that good). On PS2 I only played Medal of Honor: Frontline. On the GCN I played Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. On Xbox I played Halo: Combat Evolved, Counterstrike, and Halo 2. On Wii I played Red Steel (horrible) and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. On 360 I played Bioshock, Halo 3, Call of Duty 3, Call of Duty 4, and The Orange Box. Those are all the FPSs that I remember playing. I'm not addicted it is just that the bolded were my brothers games. Green are rented games. Blue are ones that my friends had.

Quake (Quakeworld) was the first game that really got me interested in the genre (you can probably guess why, seeing as how Quake is basically where online multiplayer gaming in general originated.)

As I think I've said before, I play FPS games almost exclusively for their multiplayer components. Singleplayer FPS games are, for the most part, extremely boring imo..but every now and then an exception comes along (S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was the last instance of this.) I'd have little interest in the genre without multiplayer.

I liked shooters since I played the original Doom and Marathon, but I didn't get addicted until Counter-Strike, then I played that for years until I made it over to Unreal Tournament 2004.

Goldeneye got me playing more than I normally did. CS started me on the although I didn't play anyothers then. I still don't due to the fact that my pc won't even run CS. Halo got me playing FPS's more than anything else at the time. Cause everyone I knew was playng as well. So it was easy to play with people I knew.

Halo. Before Halo i had played a lot of Goldeneye, but it was Halo that really got me into the FPS genre, and Halo 2 that got me into online gaming.

Goldeneye, but at that time I didnt know there was a such thing as FPS and stuff like that.

After Goldeneye it was Halo:Combat Evolved, then Half Life 2 (which is still king to this day imo)

Wolfenstein 3d. Loved the game, but never liked Doom. The space station scenario from Duke nukem, is one of my other early FPS favourites. But my absolute favourite is Dark Forces. Imagine. An FPS with a story. How revolutionary.

hard to say really. i was into the early days of FPS gaming such as Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, but throughout the rest of the 90's i didn't really cling to one particular genre because there were not quite as many FPS games. i think it really started at the beginning of the decade with the new generation of systems. but i can't really say that any single game is what did it for me. yeah i played and enjoyed halo but i have many other favorites including darkwatch, farcry, and call of duty.

Wasn't big on FPSs until I played Killzone. From there, I started playing more FPSs such as the Halo series, Medal of Honor (1st one, I believe), HL2 and Episode 1, and Republic Commando.

Counter-Strike in the year 2000.
I was primarily an RTS guy back then (StarCraft addict), but after playing Counter-Strike, I was hooked. I did play first-person shooters before Counter-Strike, such as Doom, Quake, and Half-Life, but Counter-Strike was the first game to get me addicted. Those were good days...

I lost lots of sleep because of that game.

Rise of the Triad. First in my book to put episodic content in a game with characters. Sure there was Wolf 3D, but this game was truly awesome. You could shoot guys and then they would beg for their lives. If you have never seen it, please youtube it.

Golden Eye was the first FPS game i have played. I was only 6 or 7 so i don't really remember it. What really got me hooked was Resistance Fall of Man
