What game this gen has the best visual design? POLL

These are some massive games there with big production values and plenty of polish but which has the best visual design out of these?

for me Uncharted 2 still has it but all of them look fantastic

(was close to putting Metal Gear Solid 4 in there but didnt quite make it for me)

im sure The Last Guardian, Skyrim, UC3, ME3 and The Witcher 2 would be options if I did this poll a year in the future

although I think TLG would win it

Uncharted 2 uses a lot of saturation effectively, combined with a wide palette of colours it looks fantastic.

I'm only past the helicopter part in UC2 & haven't yet played DS2, but my vote goes to GoW 3. But I personally think Fable 2 (haven't played three) & Braid have the best visual designs of the games I have played this gen.

am playing uncharted 2 as i type this (about to kill lazaravich!) and man is this game stunning no copy paste areas anywhere..campzor

exactly and the amount of time gone into the different enivonments is insane

like the huge statues they have in this game, everything is so well designed and carefully made

but what about RDR with the amazing lighting and stunning vista's, they are also really impressive

what in the hell is thedefinition for 'visual design' and why in the hell would you make a poll that limits it to 5 options when asking about a whole gen of gaming?

yeah still not seeing it, why are you posting pics of it?

my PC can run it on full but its a tech demo for the 2nd time, so resolution and FPS counters (you know who you are) would lap it up

but people with real artistic integrity the games in the poll have better visual design and crysis wouldnt even be mentioned

so for instance one guy in this thread said there werent any copy and paste sections in UC2,

it doesnt have these cause alot of thought has gone into its visual design,

look at DS2 for example, the the soft hues of colour from every light soruce is fantastic

the gothic design of the Unitology church is also worth a special mention

things like that

Mass effect with the turians and krogans designed the way they are, alot of concepts were obviously drawn up before the models were created, visual design

i thought it was a familiar term

sure it does I agree, but in the majority of the 3D Artist community (well all the peers I work with) Uncharted 2 is what we all tend to strive for

its the closest thing gaming has come to the quality of a PIXAR movie, so no it isnt a joke topic

sure it does, but in the vast majority of the 3D artist community (well all my 20/30 peers I work with) Uncharted 2 is what we all strive for,

its the closest thing gaming has come to the quality of a PIXAR movie, so no it isnt a joke topic

I believe Ratchet and Clank Future a Crack in Time is closer to being a PIXAR movie, but I do like the look of Uncharted 2 more than than Crysis even if it destroys U2 technically.

SMG 1 or 2

Eternal Sonata and Prince of Persia (2008) have the best visual design. While all those games you mentioned have great graphics and even good-looking visual designs, they're not even near these two and a few more.

God of War 3 and mass effect i can agree with.

Team fortress 2 and mirror's edge.

The average pc game looks better than all of this games you listed. The sooner you realize this the better.

Mass Effect 2 has a bunch of nice environments, like Omega and [spoiler] that-planet-where-you-find-Liara [/spoiler] , as well. The longer I think about it, the more games fit my concept of great visual designs.

Definitely none in the poll... but quite a fair margin.

Mirror's Edge, Prince of Persia 2008 and Batman: Arkham Asylum definitely are among the best. Since you know, they are about more than just technical graphics.
