Been playing REmake *Resident evil 1 incase you didn't know*on my Wii haven't played it since 2002 and this game just feels like a totally differ net franchise with the characters having the same names. Here is hoping Leon's campaign in RE6 is like classic RE.

It's just going through an evolution. I loved the old ones myself, but I can appreciate the new ones because they are a blast to play with friends/family.

Oh know I had a blast with RE Rev and 4, 5 was okay. But it doesn't feel like the same franchise I understand capcom kept the name so it would sell.

And if it isn't, that would make it a bad game? :|

And people wonder why Call of Duty games sell so many copies. People seem to like playing the latest rehashes, instead of NEW games.

Didn't I say I enoyed RE Rev and 4, I'm just saying would be fun to go back not like COD same game every year we haven't had a Classic RE game since 2002 with zero that's 10 years now.

Meh I don't mind too much (then again I gotten into RE not too long ago and pretty much been into the newer games more). I love Revelations even through it could have had more puzzles at least.

I played RE0 not long ago and there are some things I'm glad got left behind, like the fixed cameras, gimped controls, bad inventory system, etc.

to the posts above me I agree REmake is my favorite RE game and zero was good but hard and 4 was plan fun, as for the other poster agreed fixed camera's are bad but I feel the bad inventory is what made the game harder.

The problem is there's hardly any decent horror adventure games anymore. It would be nice if Capcom would make more games in line with Revelations.

Inconveniencing the player doesn't necessarily make the game "harder".

yes and no as i see it capcom is the one that is changing they are focusing to hard on what they believe well sell better and not what the players want, just look at 4 its debated as the greatest resident evil game ever made but then 5 is debated as one of the worst resident evil game's ever made and now revelations is out and so far everyone is loving it because it went back to the old style and isn't like 4 or 5 but yet they added in the 4 and 5 gun aiming.

I think it's both the idea that you have to sacrifice green herb slots or ammo for key items added to the difficulty, but it is also annoying as well.

I just glad that they aren't doing the save system that the old ones had anymore. That what kinda kills me from playing the old RE games alot.

but they are nowhere near the old ones, evolution should be get better, not change for the sake of changing, and i enjoyed re 5 in coop, but re remake was pure awesome.

I'm not sure the audience entirely changed. A lot of people played Resident Evil for simply being the high quality game that it was, with a fun scenario that let you shoot zombies and all sorts of other monsters. These people were always frustrated with the gameplay design choices that made RE what it was (backtracking, limited resources, lots of puzzles, etc). RE4 gave these people what they always wanted: a high quality monster shooter.

The ink ribbons in the old games are usually 3 right next to any given typewriter and are plentiful enough to save the game 20 times over.

After beating RE2 with 3 saves and RE3 in hard mode with 1 save, I don't even really feel as if I have to conserve.

Maybe it not a big deal on today's handheld systems that has sleep mode and such but it pretty much why I just couldn't into REmake much.

She's more of a burden than anything else.

She constantly needs saving, she steals all your damn ammo, and she just generally can't keep up with you. Plus, if she dies you die. You spend the majority of the game babysitting.

It's best to play co-op with a person instead.

Resident Evil 4 and later may as well be called a new IP. The only similarity to the old games is its characters.

She's all right if you can get past that voice while she's screaming for help. She always manages to get grabbed even if you leave her behind to hide in a corner.

And she calls you a pervert if you look at a certain thing. :x

The A.I. partner in RE5 wastes so much ammo. You'll have to babysit it on your first playthrough.

The A.I. doesn't move if you're in its line of sight, so it'll just keep shooting and hit nothing. There's no friendly fire, but still...

The A.I. uses the worst possible weapon sometimes. A shotgun to shoot snipers, a handgun for mini-bosses with high resistance.

Shinji Mikami left Capcom in 2004.

Then the series became Action-Adventure with RE5.

Capcom learned their lesson and did a bang up job with Resident Evil: Revelations.

Resident Evil 6 is being Directed by Eiichiro Sasaki(he directed the RE:Outbreak series), so there's hope.

I really enjoyed that game too, and I've been playing Resident Evil games since before the franchise even existed. :P

RE5 was one of the best co-op shooters I've ever played, and a rock-solid, highly entertaining survival-action game in singleplayer. Heaps of features, heaps of replayability, solid controls...it was an all-round great package, in my mind.

Anyway guys, remember that point in RE5 when the evil science labs you're in are about to explode, and walking-gorilla-soldier Chris had to evacuate onto a passing helicopter, only to fight off a huge mutant boss with only a magnum, acid rounds and a rocket launcher to defend him?

Oh wait...no, that was the first game in the series. Hm. :/

Or that time where you're armed to the teeth, and through a series of quick-time events, you have to fight off a massive bazooka-weilding super-soldier?

Ah, hang on, that was Resident Evil 3. Weird.

Sometimes it's easy to get the new games confused with the old ones. Possibly because the old ones were full of action, huge monsters, terrible dialogue, overpowered weapons, and cheesey action-movie tropes.

RE5 is RE4 with co-op (which tends to always increase fun), and a stomp button.

Therefore it's greater than RE4.
