What if God Of War 3 scores less then a 9 here on gamespot?

I like the God of war series. Infact, when I got my ps3 (mgs 4 bundle) the other game I purchased for it was God Of War 2. (mine unit is backwards compatible)

God of War series is also plagued with some problems:

1. The game is short. The Campaign on god of war 1 and 2 is far less then 20 hours. Infact both single player experiences are less then 15 hours

2. No replay value. Sure if you care about the useless extra's in the games, there are no branching paths and the only change you can do to the campaign is increase the difficulty.

It is simply not a value when compared to a game like mass effect 2. (25-40) hour campaing, branching paths, importing your own characters, the worry of what you do in Mass Effect 2 effects what happens in Mass effect 3, etc.

ME2 with all of that only scored a 9.0 here. It's a good chance that God of War 3 could score less then AAA here.

I really can't see God of war 3 NOT scoring AAA. Honestly.

It would be the biggest flop since Twilight Princess.

Game wise, NOTHING will ever come close to touching TP damage contrl.

Then the bomb shelters will get some use.

If the PSP version of God of War can get AAA ratings, i don't doubt GoW 3 will from the majority of publications. Though, to be honest, i'm expecting gamespot to give it a 8.5. I do think it'll be a fun, well polished game, though. Got the ultimate edition on preorder.

Then it will be the greatest 8.5 game ever I guess.

I miss the old scoring system so that it could be given an 8.9

But in reality, What if? It won't lol. It could be a 9.0 or a 9.5 (I think 9.0), but its hard to see it dropping below that.

Or it could be like when gt gave mgsiv 9.3 AND Halo 3 9.8. And It will be like the "The day gamespot lost all respect". And then they would go to youtube and rant about gamespot giving gow3 a low score.And then like 65% will leave gamespot and to ign or gametrailers. Though it might never happen. But it could.

That will happen regardless if the game doesn't score 9.5, and to a small degree, 10. I can't imagine the outrage that would occur if it scored 8.5. Especially if later in the year Halo: Reach were to manage a 10 or 9.5. The amount of moderations taking place would be EPIC.

Heavy Rain's 8.5 is quite a bit lower than its current 90% gamerankings score.

Even Mass Effect 2's 9.0 is much lower than its 95% gamerankings score.

At this point, I feel only God of War 3, Halo Reach and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are in the "definite" AAA category. It's hard to root against the established big-hitters; they seem to do pretty consistently well here.

It probably won't score less than AAAE. Unless the reviewer marks it down for being more of the same. Which GS has done many times before with other games.

Altho I dont think it will be the case, I think we will hear the Cows "Mooh" way into next decade.

If it would score that low, something would have gone horribly wrong in the production of that game O.o Even tho I do not like the GoW series, I can see the good points of it just fine.

I'm betting SMG 2 will score an 8.5

It'll be a great game regardless, but I feel GS will complain about it being too close to SMG1 or something else.

People won't care, because even an it getting AA score won't dampen hopes of fans of it being an awesome game.

I am renting the game regardless. I will have a blast regardless of what it scores. It will be an epic day if it does score below 8.0

Heavy Rain at 8.5 is a flop in lemmings' heads but in reality it's not so unexpected. GoW3 at 8.5 or less will be a big flop IMO. It won't happen though :D

The games is AAA quality based on the content we've already seen and tried with the demo, if they review the game and rate it below 9.0, it will still average over 90% on metacritic and gamerankings im 95% sure of it and in reality the Ps3 library only gets bigger and better with exclusives the system has in its own right, not slightly better versions of multiplats for petty little grapjical details caused by some issues during the porting job or games the system is bound to share with another system by default, whether its another console or not.

People who were anticipating God of War 3 will play and enjoy the game anyways, and the haters who want to see it fail just because it's an exclusive will get so full of themselves acting like they're kings of SW.
