I played UC3 though and didn't like it. It ends with the water being a hallucenogen and causing Nathan Drake to stumble around as you hold forward on the analog stick.

Ehh, I never understood this about UC's praise. They're there, and they add to the variety, but they're not anything good. The platforming is way too easy, the melee is clunky at best, and the puzzles could be done by an 8 year old. :P They're just very weak aspects when compared to the actual meat of the game.[QUOTE="ShadowMoses900"]
It's obvious you have never played Uncharted before, because if you did you wouldn't say that. For starters it is NOT a TPS like Gears, there is so much more to it than that, there is platforming, melee hand to hand fisticuffs, puzzel solving ect...a bunch of different things.

If you don't understand is either because you haven't played it or because you don't want to understand.

Yeh. They are so far ahead of the pack in every aspect of game design its not even funny. No one comes close. I expect The Last of Us to single-handedly attain the respect this medium deserves and gaming will finally be taken seriously as an artistic medium. It will no doubt change the face of gaming forever. Then again, The Last of Us won't really be just a "game", it will be more than a game, it'll be an experience. AAllxxjjnn

Oh ya I forgot about the fight with Talbot at the end, and I think too many devs rely on quick time events. Only God of War is the only series I played that seemed to get it right. Heavy Rain did it well too but that's mostly what that game was lol.
But it's not every enemy you fight with, others you can dodge attacks but it's not really a quick time event like it is when you fight the brutes (the big guys who grab you). I don't mind it too much, and if you play on the harder settings like Crushing the melee system is kind of different and QTE arn't as prevelant.
But I do agree that devs shouldn't rely on them as much as they do. Still Uncharted is still a fantastic game either way and one you don't want to miss.

Well I thought UC 3 was the best in the series, but we all have our opinions I guess. I thought UC 1 boss fight was silly, just hiding from a guy with a cheap one shot kill magnum. UC 2 boss was just running away and shooting him. UC 3 though I thought had more variety and cinematic experience with the boss.
But it was disappointing how the villian dies (Marlow) you don't even get to fight her, just falls into some quick sand lol. What the hell is that? But the fight with Talbot at the end was pretty solid I thought. Though I think it's funny how at the end of EVERY game the buildings start to collapse. Literally happens in all the UC games.
To me the entire UC series is a must own.

What is your PS3/PSN Gamer Tag?
Ah I have yet to play UC3, once I do I hope the puzzles will be good then. :)Well everyone has their own opinion, I disagree with you. Except on the puzzels, I agree with you there, some of them are too easy and the journal just is a cheat sheet. UC3 however had pretty good puzzels overall.

Its a solid TPS with great set pieces and voice acting. If you don't like it, don't get it. Simple as that.[QUOTE="Gue1"]
[QUOTE="freedomfreak"]
It looks great. The setpieces are awesome. Overall good production values.
It just lacks in the gunplay, platforming and puzzle department.freedomfreak
while I agree about the gunplay the other 2 couldn't be farther from the truth. The platforming in Uncharted opens up a window for more creative level design. And the puzzles bad? No.
But you can't criticize its components that way, you need to see it all as one. If you nitpick GTA's gameplay piece by piece you'll end up with the same opinion you have about Uncharted but when you see all at the same time then you understand.
The purpose of Uncharted's platforming wasn't to be challenging, its purpose was to create verticality and that's what it did. Uncharted is not Mario Bros and it's not trying to be either. Uncharted's gunplay is weak but the game is not trying to be GeoW. Uncharted's puzzles aren't as clever as Portal but that wasn't its point. Uncharted's point is to deliver a cinematic experience full of action were it puts you on amazing movie-like situations but while still being a game. And is thanks to all these different gameplay elements that Uncharted feels so complete and satisfying compared to other games that try to go for a more cinematic approach.
I mean, didn't you fing the collapsing building and the Train on UC2 to be exciting? And what about UC3's and the burning house, the airplane, the boat, the horse riding to be exciting too? Because for me it sure was mind-blowing, specialy when you consider how well put together the set-pieces are with gameplay and transitions to cut-scenes.

house and boat were decent, and the airplane good. :) The leading up to the sequences, especially the boat, was overly long and drawn out. :? That broke up the pacing and made it feel dull. The horse riding though wasn't exciting, that was just stupid as sh*t. Not sure what ND was thinking with respect to that scenario. :? :lol:And what about UC3's and the burning house, the airplane, the boat, the horse riding to be exciting too? Okay since you don't have a gamer tag I will give you another shot mr MS, tell me what the plot twist is in Uncharted 1, Uncharted 2, OR Uncharted 3. You only have to do ONE game, not all. You need to tell the names of the charecters and what happens in the beginning, the middle, and the end. Not a huge synopsis mind you, just a quick one that like "Nate searches for X treasure based on X reason and encouters X enemy".
And you need to do it pretty quick too, I will know if you used Youtube or Google to find this out.
If you've watched an Indiana Jones movie you should know the answer, since the Uncharted games lack originality in storytelling and have to rip off from swashbuckler movies.[QUOTE="MicrosoftRules"]
