I played UC3 though and didn't like it. It ends with the water being a hallucenogen and causing Nathan Drake to stumble around as you hold forward on the analog stick.

It's obvious you have never played Uncharted before, because if you did you wouldn't say that. For starters it is NOT a TPS like Gears, there is so much more to it than that, there is platforming, melee hand to hand fisticuffs, puzzel solving ect...a bunch of different things.

tagyhag

Ehh, I never understood this about UC's praise. They're there, and they add to the variety, but they're not anything good. The platforming is way too easy, the melee is clunky at best, and the puzzles could be done by an 8 year old. :P They're just very weak aspects when compared to the actual meat of the game.

If you don't understand is either because you haven't played it or because you don't want to understand.

That is only when you fight the Brutes. >ShadowMoses900

:? I'm pretty sure it's also applied to average run of the mill guys too, you smack them around a couple of times and the QTE! And hes out for the count. It's been a while since i played UC3 campaign but I'm pretty sure that's the case. But the melee QTE system is complete f*cking sh*t. The ending boss fight, the stupid brute fights as you say which popped up FAR MORE THAN THEY NEEDED to be. :|

Yeh. They are so far ahead of the pack in every aspect of game design its not even funny. No one comes close. I expect The Last of Us to single-handedly attain the respect this medium deserves and gaming will finally be taken seriously as an artistic medium. It will no doubt change the face of gaming forever. Then again, The Last of Us won't really be just a "game", it will be more than a game, it'll be an experience. AAllxxjjnn

Offf the top of my head? A big thank you to Naughty Dog For not only given us 3 of the best games of this generation but for making them exclusive to Sony and the PS3. You guys knew right away back in 2001 that Sony was the console to call home and you have been delivering the good ever since. With Uncharted 3 you have given us the pinnacle of gaming and another monster hit sure to sell millions. A special mention should go to Key people

Evan Wells Christophe Balestra-Co-presidents Amy Hennig, Creative director and Bruce Straley Game director, Thank you.

Oh ya I forgot about the fight with Talbot at the end, and I think too many devs rely on quick time events. Only God of War is the only series I played that seemed to get it right. Heavy Rain did it well too but that's mostly what that game was lol.

But it's not every enemy you fight with, others you can dodge attacks but it's not really a quick time event like it is when you fight the brutes (the big guys who grab you). I don't mind it too much, and if you play on the harder settings like Crushing the melee system is kind of different and QTE arn't as prevelant.

But I do agree that devs shouldn't rely on them as much as they do. Still Uncharted is still a fantastic game either way and one you don't want to miss.

I try to forget about it too. :( I'm not sure what's up with naughty dog, they can create a decent to awesome singleplayer and then they decide to sh*t on everything with a crap ending boss fight. Granted it ain't no bioware level of fail mind you (ROFL ME3), but the ending boss fights in uncharted have always sucked major balls. It's like they purposely do it to piss us all off. :x

The original Uncharted and uncharted 3 are good rents, but uncharted 2 is a must own. :)

Well I thought UC 3 was the best in the series, but we all have our opinions I guess. I thought UC 1 boss fight was silly, just hiding from a guy with a cheap one shot kill magnum. UC 2 boss was just running away and shooting him. UC 3 though I thought had more variety and cinematic experience with the boss.

But it was disappointing how the villian dies (Marlow) you don't even get to fight her, just falls into some quick sand lol. What the hell is that? But the fight with Talbot at the end was pretty solid I thought. Though I think it's funny how at the end of EVERY game the buildings start to collapse. Literally happens in all the UC games.

To me the entire UC series is a must own.

Well everyone has their own opinion, I disagree with you. Except on the puzzels, I agree with you there, some of them are too easy and the journal just is a cheat sheet. UC3 however had pretty good puzzels overall.

ShadowMoses900

Ah I have yet to play UC3, once I do I hope the puzzles will be good then. :)

If you don't understand is either because you haven't played it or because you don't want to understand.

Gue1

You seriously believe the platforming/puzzles/melee combat are as good as the other parts of the entire game? :?

Uncharted is a homage to campy action movies of the past and nails it perfectly. As a whole, the games are a great package. The presentation is near perfect. The only thing people like to complain about is the gameplay Personally, the only one in the series where I have problems with the gameplay are the first one. It was just a little wonky. UC2 and UC3 I have no problems doing exactly what I wanted, whenever I wanted, including very precise aiming. People complain about the gunplay in this game, when nobody has ever really explained: WHY the game has bad gunplay or what that even means. I personally think it has great gunplay. All the guns have a decent amount of recoil which I find refreshing. Getting use to the recoil is a skill. For me: Uncharted 1 = A new Hope = Temple of Doom Uncharted 2 = Empire Strikes Back = Raiders of the Lost Ark Uncharted 3 = Return of the Jedi = Last Crusade This is how I'd rate them in how good they are, as in, they are all great, but which one is my favorite kinda depends what day of the week it is

It looks great. The setpieces are awesome. Overall good production values.

It just lacks in the gunplay, platforming and puzzle department.

freedomfreak

while I agree about the gunplay the other 2 couldn't be farther from the truth. The platforming in Uncharted opens up a window for more creative level design. And the puzzles bad? No.

No. The platforming is simplistic and unchallenging. There's nothing wrong with that but I don't like it when I don't have to put any effort in climbing and platforming my way through certain sections.

The puzles are boring and uninspired. Granted,3 had better puzzles.
Prick.

But you can't criticize its components that way, you need to see it all as one. If you nitpick GTA's gameplay piece by piece you'll end up with the same opinion you have about Uncharted but when you see all at the same time then you understand.

The purpose of Uncharted's platforming wasn't to be challenging, its purpose was to create verticality and that's what it did. Uncharted is not Mario Bros and it's not trying to be either. Uncharted's gunplay is weak but the game is not trying to be GeoW. Uncharted's puzzles aren't as clever as Portal but that wasn't its point. Uncharted's point is to deliver a cinematic experience full of action were it puts you on amazing movie-like situations but while still being a game. And is thanks to all these different gameplay elements that Uncharted feels so complete and satisfying compared to other games that try to go for a more cinematic approach.

I mean, didn't you fing the collapsing building and the Train on UC2 to be exciting? And what about UC3's and the burning house, the airplane, the boat, the horse riding to be exciting too? Because for me it sure was mind-blowing, specialy when you consider how well put together the set-pieces are with gameplay and transitions to cut-scenes.

Huh well that's funny, the search came up with ZERO results on the PlayStation Blog (which is where EVERY PSN Gamertag is stored). I even did a google search and found nothing.

http://us.playstation.com/search/index.htm?id=So4pySh1p

So....what's up with that? Is your gamertag invisible? Or is it SO secret that it has to remain hidden? Are you James Bond?

There is nothing spectacular about the game. It's popular because of its set pieces.

And what about UC3's and the burning house, the airplane, the boat, the horse riding to be exciting too? Because for me it sure was mind-blowing, specialy when you consider how well put together the set-pieces are with gameplay and transitions to cut-scenes.

house and boat were decent, and the airplane good. :) The leading up to the sequences, especially the boat, was overly long and drawn out. :? That broke up the pacing and made it feel dull. The horse riding though wasn't exciting, that was just stupid as sh*t. Not sure what ND was thinking with respect to that scenario. :?

Google won't find it unless I post on the forums. I have never posted with my account and haven't been on for months. Try SoapyShip instead, maybe I used that ID. If it holds every ID, it should be in there.

Lol I doubt that you have even played it before. Espeically because you think Gears and Uncharted are comparable, anyone that has played both knows they are nothing alike.

What is your PS3/PSN Gamer Tag?

ShadowMoses900

So4pySh1p

Huh well that's funny, the search came up with ZERO results on the PlayStation Blog (which is where EVERY PSN Gamertag is stored). I even did a google search and found nothing.

So....what's up with that? Is your gamertag invisible? Or is it SO secret that it has to remain hidden? Are you James Bond?

http://us.playstation.com/search/index.htm?id=ShadowMoses33

:o :| Looks like we have two James Bonds. ROFL.

To search a PSN tag, go to your friends list, click on trophies, and then you will see a place to search people on PSN website.

Just get on your PS3 and add So4pySh1p, has to be the easiest way to find it.

The platforming is probably to give you a sense of verticality, but that doesn't change the fact that it was simplistic. I never said it was bad. It's just not for me. I find it to be boring.
The gun mechanics are weak. I don't see the point of the geow comparison. The gun mechanics are just mediocre. If they're in there,I expect them to be good. I'm not gonna excuse them because "it wasn't meant to be like GeoW".
Again, with the puzzles. Yes,it's not Portal but that doesn't change the fact they're too easy and uninspired.

I'm not comparing any of these things with other games. I just see them as they are. Simplistic, uninspired and boring.

As for the last part. Of course I found those things to be exciting. That's the best thing about Uncharted. I merely commented on the other things Uncharted has going for itself, besides these setpieces, dumbass.

The link goes no where, just to a page that says the "user you are looking for does not exist".

Okay since you don't have a gamer tag I will give you another shot mr MS, tell me what the plot twist is in Uncharted 1, Uncharted 2, OR Uncharted 3. You only have to do ONE game, not all. You need to tell the names of the charecters and what happens in the beginning, the middle, and the end. Not a huge synopsis mind you, just a quick one that like "Nate searches for X treasure based on X reason and encouters X enemy".

And you need to do it pretty quick too, I will know if you used Youtube or Google to find this out.

If you've watched an Indiana Jones movie you should know the answer, since the Uncharted games lack originality in storytelling and have to rip off from swashbuckler movies.

Ok, mabey that is yours. I don't know. So I take back what I said. Still I have suspicions, and it seems like something you just made on a friends PS3 or something.

You couldn't even remember your gamer tag name.

Maybe some people don't care for Sony's crappy online service and just want to play their games.
