What is so new and refreshing about BF3?

Relative to previous games in the series, nothing really. So far just minor additions like bipods, flashlights and suppression. A "big thing" is yet to be introduced.

Compared to the competition, the usual. Scale, vehicles, support roles, destruction etc. The dynamics all those things bring.

I love how the BF fanboys trash MW, yet BF3 plays nearly EXACTLY the same as BF2 with a coat of nice graphics. HOW INNOVATIVE!!!! Hypocrites really

Well, it is the true successor to the original BF2; bringing back to us many core Battlefield experiences like 64 players, jets, huge open maps which was absence in the Bad Company spin-offs.

Well BF3 isn't a Bad Company game and hopefully the maps won't be so huge and boring this time.

Have you played Arma II? Not even their maps are boring, size has nothing to do with it just the people you play with.

The people who think BF is the same every game probably only played the console spin offs, which in that case, yes....they do play the same. Except BF3 isnt a spin-off and is a direct sequel to PC exclusive BF games, which your average CoD fanboy on system wars hasn't ever touched.

Comparing to CoD, at least the same game has'nt been reskinned for the sake of 3, soon 4, sequels.

With improvements in sound quality, graphical output, destructible enviornments, along with better design and feel of the weapons, the game will have more atmosphere than BF2 ever did and while it will resemble BF2 in some ways, it will be different enough so it'll feel like a radically different game.

Because COD is being milked to death like Halo and they don't add enough features to make it fresh. ShadowNinja87

Eh? Tell me seriously that BC2 is like BF2. BC2 is smaller and more restrictive, but it beats playing a chaotic arcade shooter named Call of Duty (which hasn't seen any more variety past Call of Duty 4). Tell me sriously that it's like BF 1942. Hell, tell me seriously that BF3 is going to be like BC2 and not more like the original Battlefield games.

Besides, what new Battlefield games have you played "every year"? BC and BC2 are the only recent BF games, and they're not exactly what I'd call one in the same. BC 1 was mediocre in both the SP and MP departments. TBH, it doesn't sound like you've played many Battlefield games.
