:P
So, what's wrong with it? ;)
This topic is locked from further discussion.
The system itself? very low storage space/hard drive and weaker online compared to the competition, and currently not much of a library supporting it.
Outside of that, Nintendo's handling of the Wii U has been terrible. Practically non-existant marketing + terrible name choice = nobody knows WTF the Wii U is. Waiting so damn long to release some interesting games on the system and thus wasting their advantage (maybe NIntendo shouldn't have released the system so early). A pointless basic model (finally discontinued) and bad pricing, and no price cut or bundle announced yet to make up for this. And overall just an lack of effort from Nintendo it seems.
Its laughably weak. Everyone is so tired of current gen that you rarely even see "X game looks miles better than Y game" (on current gen, not ps4 games vs x1's) and that's what you get from wiiu. its what you get from wiiu for the next 5 years, uninterested things no one cares about and want to move on already. You won't see any revolutions on a such weak hardware because its limited as hell so you're pretty much stuck with a 360 for ~13 years lol enjoy
1) name: the system doesn't seem like a new system to the casuals.
2) Its hardware. Its simply still a part of the current gen. Time to compete with sony and ms in terms of hardware. Low HD space, relatively weak gpu compared to next gen consoles.
3) its gimmick touch screen incorporated into the controller. Fine have that as a separate buy. BUT just give the consumers a normal controller.
4) lack of multiplat support. (kinda as a result of the hardware).
5) games. None of the system sellers are out.
6) price is just too damn high
Aww, I love you Sony fanboys too. :oops:it's fanboys are the number 1 thing wrong with the Wii-U.

It's system sellers aren't coming until 2014.bbkkristianThis. They should have waited a year and come out $100 cheaper than X1 and PS4 and have all the games out now and all the games announced all for launch and with one SKU with a 120-250GB HDD then it would be selling like hot cakes.
Nintendo made a current-gen system at the end of the current-gen; that's what's wrong. princeofshapeirThe lack of a graphical jump wasn't such a big problem with the Wii
The lack of a graphical jump wasn't such a big problem with the Wii also tablets and smartphones wasn't a big deal either back in 2006. The lack of a graphical jump wasn't such a big problem with the Wii Because the sixth gen wasn't nearly as long as seventh gen and the Wii was MUCH cheaper than the 360 and PS3, and motion controls were a big deal (or at least a bigger deal than the tablet controller gimmick).[QUOTE="princeofshapeir"]Nintendo made a current-gen system at the end of the current-gen; that's what's wrong. conkertheking1

Which shows that the Wii U's problem has more to do with pricing or choice of controller than the Wii U's weaker hardware. The only real problem the weaker hardware could bring is weaker third party support, but even then Nintendo has always had bad luck with third parties, even when their consoles were graphically on par with its competition, or even when Nintendo had a successful console (the Wii), so I believe that Nintendo's third party problems are more of a result of Nintendo's history and the Wii U's terrible sales than weaker hardware.
If anything I'd sat its the fact that the Wii U's hardware is different that makes it difficult for companies to utilize it or want to work with it moreso than the fact that it is weaker. This could explain the Wii's weak third party support as well despite being successful.

The Wii U has one big title each month starting in two days.
Pikmin 3 (August 4th)
Wonderful 101 (September 15th)
Wind Waker HD (October)
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (November)
Super Mario 3D World (December)
I think it would be okay starting the end of the year when it gets a steady stream of titles from Nintendo.

If Nintendo could actually keep up with that pattern of having a big titles for each month for the rest of its life cycle that would be pretty cool. Not going to hold my breath on that and don't see Nintendo going that crazy with the development but would hypothetically be cool.

You think those are system sellers? The prequels of all four games combined(excluded w 101 of course) failed to outsell NSMBW last gen. The weaker hardware is a big factor because people are sick of current-gen and want next-gen. They don't want a console that offers the same technical capabilities that we've been experiencing for eight years.
I agree the pricing is the biggest detriment, as pitting a deluxe edition $350 console against a $399 Playstation 4 is going to be suicidal this holiday season.

We'll see a small holiday bump just like every other console, but the true test comes next spring 2014 with mk8. Wii-u will be done if sales don't consistently pickup in the following months after it releases. Those smartphones and tablets aren't stopping the 3ds from selling like gangbusters 3DS is selling significantly less than ds did in the same time frame and ps vita is selling even worse than its precursor.
