That time old question we always love to ask. Mine is Metal Gear Solid (PS1). It's my all time favorite and I still consider it better than any other MGS. The later ones got all crazy. So what about you, SW? What game gets your vote?

Oh man only one game?! Ummm ok... Silent Hill 2!... No wait..., Super Smash bros Melee,,... Nah... Eternal Darkness..... Bioshock... Damn... Donkey Kong Kountry 2? Left 4 dead 2.... Gears of War 3.... Way too hard to just pick one.
This is an impossible question to answer.
A game that blew me away at the time? MGS2. It was 1. 60fps 2. had massively improved gameplay from 1 3. what the game did can never be done again
I have more hours on other games though, like Street Fighter III third strike.
Age of Empires II
It's the only game I've consistently loved since first laying hands upon it in 2000. The history in the game and it's inspiring me to learn more about history pretty much put me on the path that lead to where I am in life now. No other game can make that claim.
That, and it's the one game I've spent a good portion of my time playing it playing cooperatively with my sister, which has helped us bond over the years.
And finally, it's still a blast to play even to this day and is still receiving official support and new content (The Forgotten/African Kingdoms).
The Ninja-Sega Master System. Zillion is a c*nts hair behind. Pac Man is third.
Nothing compares to those that started my love.
It's way too hard to pick one but I always narrow it down to these five:
1. Super Mario 64
2. Xenoblade Chronicles
3. Super Smash Brothers Melee
4. F-Zero GX
5. Metroid Prime
My honorable contender is Castlevania Symphony of the Night.
@bowserjr123: Xenoblade is amazing, and not enough people appreciate its story and worldbuilding, even if it does go slightly off the rails near the end
On topic, still Majora's Mask, but my favorite recent game is LISA The Painful. Amazingly written game. I was afraid replaying Majora on the 3DS that it wouldn't hold up, but it is still as mesmerizing, engaging, and atmospheric as the day it came out.

Agreed, it's seriously the best JRPG I've ever played, and that's coming from someone that loves Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI. It was the whole package: addictive gameplay, tons of quests, beautiful setting, amazing soundtrack, and a good level of challenge. I loved the characters, especially Reyn, with his alleyoops every time he jumped.
Alot of favorites to choose from such as
Crash Bandicoot
Sly Cooper
Batman Arkham Series
Outlast
And I really can't wait for Horizon: Zero Dawn

That's another thing that doesn't get enough love. The characters are pretty cliche on paper, but the execution makes them really loveable. Xenoblade is one of the only JRPGs I've played where the animal sidekick (in this case Ricki) is actually endearing versus annoying.
I really need to do another play through of that... Shame it took me 75 hours to beat the first time around.

I wasn't too big on Riki but Reyn has the best lines..."What a bunch of jokas!" "Good thing I'm here? No, anyone?" "Now it's Reyn time!" Definitely one of my favorite JRPG characters.
It took me 100 hours to finish my first play through, I really want to play it again but I have too many other games I want to play...I recently finished Persona 3 which was awesome too but not quite on Xenoblade's level.

I hear you. I made the mistake of buying Dragon Quest VII and not have about a 100 hour commitment... The game is notorious for its length. Enjoying it so far despite the fact that this remake doesn't get rid of some of the series small but significant annoyances.
@turtlethetaffer: Yeah I'm kinda cautious about picking that one up, I loved Dragon Quest V and IX though. Persona 3 took me over 80 hours to complete but it was really worth it. I'm finally getting around to playing Terranigma now which should be awesome since I'm a Super Nintendo enthusiast.
Today it's MM X4, tomorrow it could be FF: Tactics, the next day SF III: Third Strike and next week it might be Genma Onimusha...so, yeah.
Impossible question to answer:P
GTA San Andreas is probably the one. Played that game through multiple times and can easily go back to it today.
Probably GW1. Have not played a single game that is better ever since i quit it. Sure i could've said something like Perfect Dark or Demon's Souls but the truth is, these don't even come close.
Grand Theft Auto 3 I didn't have PS2 and went to my friends house everyday after school to play it I was addicted. I was always a fan of the series and played it on PS1 before that. GTA3 was just amazing and groundbreaking. When it came out for XBOX I bought it right away.
The SW game. Nothing like expressing an opinion here and getting stupid people that haven't realized taste/preference doesn't mean shit, especially fact.
But they sure think it does hahahahahahaha
God, i love alot of games, from multiple genres...XCom, Freespace, Freelancer, Farcry, Starbound/Terraria, Assassin's Creed believe it or not, Baldur's Gate, Company of Heroes, Need For Speed, Valkyria Chronicles...but if i really have to pick one...
Mechwarrior. Anything to do with Mechwarrior. Or Stompy pew pew Robots, like Heavy Gear, Earthsiege...ARGH.
Something died inside me when i've to say that. Its like I betrayed all the other games and spitted on their graves.
This is a very very tough question and its cruel to ask this of gamers!!! :(
