metroid prime 3, it lost what i loved about the first, that feeling of desolation and being the only human, they just had to include that damn space station with all those people >.>linkin_guy109
But that was just the beginning. And you didn't have to go back there that much. The entire rest of the game was isolated and creepy. Remember that ruined space station thingy?? Remember Elysia with all its melancholy robots going on and on, far above the clouds? YA!!!
The legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
A big disappointment if you ask me. I was also one of those idiots who were bashing gamespot for the 8.8... then I played it.

Explain yourself!!!
Please?
Definitely Oblivion. Morrowind is my favorite game of all time, and Oblivion is one of the worst RPG's I've ever played. Anf they're from the same series...TaCoDuDe
I love Morrowind and I love Oblivion. I still play both.
Assassins Creed for me. I was really, really excited for that game. Everything felt tacked on to me. Like, they make this huge hub world (The Kingdom) and then there is not one single mission in it and you can bypass it after the first three kills and never see the place again. The guards are not threats at all. The audio drove me nuts. All I could hear were the same three pedestrians over and over.
MGS4 and Halo 3. Both were snoozefests.BioShockOwnz
Halo 3 didn't disappoint me because I lost faith after two. It's a decent game.
I hate every MGS but four. The only reason I even rented the game was because I needed something, anything, to play on my ps3. Four days later I purchased it. A nice surprise.
Also, just about every RTS this generation has disappointed me big time save for Company of Heroes, one of my all time favorites now.

I expected little from both, but ended up getting less than what I expected...:(

After the first Halo I was a huge fan. I still love the first Halo but the game never evolved, not even a little, after that. The MP had so much potential that has never been realized. I despise the MP now and I despise how so many games I loved (original CoD) chased after it's example. I am looking at you CoD4!
On a side note, I hate Oblivion and Bioshock hate. I basically lose all respect for gamers who bag on those two games.
Edit: The Bethesda haters are some of the loudest cry baby's in all of gaming even though I try and sympathize with Fallout fans. Action alone is not the anti-RPG, people.
All the games that I get super hyped for seriously. Thats why I dont hype games anymore because my expectations go to high and I end up not enjoying them, ironically I end up enjoying games that I almost always fail to notice
EX: GTA IV, Gears of War, Halo 3, etc

Get a hold on your brain, man. It seems you have learned your lesson though. I am sick of people bagging on advanced AI that is not perfect. As though the AI should actually be intelligent.
Like, people expected Oblivions AI to be omnipresent.
dead rising and not for the reason you might think, its because I don't have an HDTV so the reading stuff I can't read on a SDTV so I just give up and not play it. That will soon change though when I get an HDTV this coming weekend.
Pure game play wise I would have to go with Lost Odyssey
jliebel
Oh god I had to play Dead Rising on my 19" TV, I had to lean foreward and really focus to read the words, my only qualm with the game
[QUOTE="helium_flash"]So what exactly made GTAIV so disappointing? Wasn't it just like the previous three, except better?SpinoRaptor
A lot of stuff was removed in GTAIV. Crazy weapons,Tanks, Parachutes,Planes. Missions were also boring and dull.
really!? dang....goes to show that every one is different....i happened to think the missions were very entertaining and the fire fire proved to be exciting

halo 3 definitly dissappointed me too.....but definitly cant agree with you on MGS4....games incredible
MGS4. I guess I shouldn't have expected much since I didn't like the past games all that much, but it just sucked. No replay value and the game is a couple of hours long if you take away the ridiculous cutscenes.
I only bought because of all the "OMG ITS SO BEAUTIFUL" 10/10 reviews.
Also Mass Effect. Bioware made Baldurs Gate and KOTOR,some of my favorite games, but this was just a kick in the nuts. The game was very short including side quests even. The planets were awful, the only place in the game worth exploring was the Citadel. Also the 'moral' choices were never hard to make like people said and they had no long term impacts on the game.
Also Halo 3. Just crap.
LOL!The legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

sorry, i have superior taste in games so i dont get disappointed by my purchases 8)
I'm not sure I could choose just ONE majorly disappointing game so I'll go with 3.
1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Man, when Melee first came out in 2001 I was hooked on that game for MONTHS. I played it for horus, even though none of my friends had a GameCube or had any interest in playing Melee with me. The AI and gameplay alone was enough to have me hooked. It changed SO much from the original Smash Bros. Mid-air dodging, MUCH faster gameplay, grabbing items that are thrown at you, the trophies, everything felt fresh. Brawl essentially felt like Melee with a facelift, and that's what really disappointed me. I loved Brawl for a week before realising it was exactly the same game I had played 7 years ago.
2. Halo 3 - The original Halo stands out in my mind as one of the best games I ever played. Honestly, the campaign in that game smoked every other FPS campaign (with the exception of maybe Half-Life). I loved it. Halo 2 came out and I could honestly go on for pages about what I didn't like about it. Many of my friends told me that Halo 3 was a return to form, but it felt EXACTLY like Halo 2 and for that reason it was one of my most disappointing game purchases.
3. Ninja Gaiden 2 - I honestly don't know what happened to the creative talent behind the original game. Ninja Gaiden was incredible. The bosses were awesome and the enemies were a lot of fun to fight. These 2 crucial elements are strangely absent in Ninja Gaiden 2. Also, when you died in the original Ninja Gaiden you always knew it was cause you needed to be a better ninja. I honestly cannot say this about Ninja Gaiden 2. The camera is horrendous and really works against you in combat.
I would choose two.
First, Mass Effect, people make this game out to be a serious and engrossing experience, and consider it one of the best games of the generation. I consider it mediocre, (I beat it BTW, check gamertag, first game this generation I forced myself to beat.). The story was not original like many claim it to be, the gameplay sucked, it was a glitchfest and had terrible framerate. Its probably one of the most boring games ive ever played.
Second, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I will say this, the game is excellent, it is incredibly fun as always has been, however, I expected much more from Nintendo. The gameplay was identical to Melee with the addition of new items and characters. I was just so hyped for this game, I expected the kind of upgrade that happened from the original to Melee. I still play it regularly though, as I said, the game is still awesome, but I was dissapointed by the lack of changes. Well, maybe Melee was perfect to start with, and since Melee is a game that never gets old, why change that?

This too.
[QUOTE="VendettaRed07"][QUOTE="yellowandmushy"]Okami is much better than every Zelda game except for 5 of them.yellowandmushy
fixed
The only that is better is A Link to the Past.THAT OOT AND BOTH NES GAMES
PROB SOME GAMEBOY ONES TO BUT I HAVE NEVER PLAYED THOSE
Definitely Oblivion. Morrowind is my favorite game of all time, and Oblivion is one of the worst RPG's I've ever played. Anf they're from the same series...TaCoDuDeI agree, but mods fixed the Oblivion problem for me.
I'd say Assassin's Creed, game just got too repetitive to enjoy :?
and good thing I rented GTA IV first cause that got real old, real quick too.
