Game length in general is fine, the problem is that gamers are pussies and play everything in easy mode, blast through the game and say it's not long enough.

Try playing fucking Horizon:ZD on hard mode and see how long it takes your ass to complete the main SP story and a decent amount of the extra content.

Bought and played Metro: Last Light recently. Completed it in 7 hours, I think. I bought it for 5 bucks. Had I payed full price for it I would've been really dissapointed with it. But for 5 bucks it was a fun little ride.

So you play a game in pussy mode and then complain it's not long enough?

I think it's really hard to put a "perfect length" on any game, genre, or franchise. I prefer things the way they are. I have really enjoyed very short and very long games.

@scatteh316: If normal mode is pussy mode, yeah. But ghost says he completed it in 10 hours on ranger mode. That's also short.

@Litchie: no no. 10 hour is great length. Its all depens on quality.

6 hours of max payne is much worthy than 100 hours of any RPG.

Not in my opinon. About 3 times as long would've been nice for a game like Metro. Hopefully, Exodus is.

Like when people called Portal an amazing game and a masterpiece.. I thought it was a pretty cool demo. It was over in like 3 hours for **** sake.

portal 2 was longer. portal 1 was just a part of orange box and not full fledge game.

neither are masterpiece but pretty good games.

also Exodus is longer than 2033, last light and all dlc combine. thats what 4A said. so maybe 25 hour long this time around. STALKER was almost same length.

Yeah I heard. Sounds great. 20-25 hours is a good lenght for a SP FPS game.

It may turn out greatest FPS ever made if it even be 50 percent of good as STALKER because that game is by far best FPS ever made.

My perfect length is, "engaging throughout with minimal boredom"

Perfect length - Portal 2, the Messanger

Worst length - uncharted 4

For me quality means more I would rather an enjoyable 5 hour game than a boring 10 hour drag. It all depends on quality for me.

@mclarenmaster18: Agreed. I think 12 - 20 hours is a good sweet spot.

really depends on the game.

I was happy to spend like 150+ hours in the Witcher 3 + its DLC because it felt worthwhile.

however, I tend to get bored of typical Ubisoft-style open world games in 10-15 hours, usually well before they end, because often by that point I've seen most of what these games have to offer and finishing them is just a matter of doing the same shit over and over.

I feel like in general, SP-focused games are getting kinda bloated lately.

Likewise on Witcher 3 ( 400 hours on 3 playthroughs so far )

Also it doesnt take me more than 3-4 hours ( and that is generous ) to get bored the next open world ubisoft game.

I'm the opposite. I love Far Cry 5's world. But, I eventually got bored of TW3's.

Open world games could be beaten within a 10-15 hour. I like many find that they now seem to try to make you grind unnecessarily or use micro transactions to progress in the story. The average I'd say for a story single player 10 hour story extended to 15-20 with side missions.

The "perfect length" depends on the game, but my general rule is that a good game is always too short, and a bad game is always too long.
