It did, yet it's still very underappreciated by PC gamers, and is rarely, if ever, mentioned in "best of" discussions with this gen.what? this game won so many accolades

SEGA and Sonic Racing (with Banjo/Kazooie)
Not exactly a "gem" but a great alternative in the kart racing genre.

It's a pity Ubisoft sucked the life out of that company. Their multiplayer games were one of a kind, I'm just glad BGT got released at all.
Yeah :( It's a real shame, I preordered it and got it at launch and enjoyed the hell out of the game. But then day after day the servers got smaller and smaller. Last time I played it (about 3 weeks ago) there were only two servers left, one was full and the other had two people :/Messed about with the free multiplayer version of that and it's pretty unique and enjoyable. Didn't have the patience to get used to the controls and zero gravity of it tho.Shattered Horizon
Extremely underrated, and amazing

Nice opinion. My opinion is that it was quite good (although far from perfect obviously) and overlooked.
I agree with the "darksiders blew" opinionwhy? the beginning was one of the best parts of the game. It was very action packed and it set the pacing very high for the rest of the game...which unfortunately was nothing like the introduction. the introduction was too action-packed for the rest of the game. When the you started in the first dungeon the game slowed down considerably. I really thought it was going to be constantly chaotic.
the jump button. I was able to adjust to the timing of the jump button, but it was annoying that the jump button had input lag. you would hit the jump button, and it wasn't 1:1 with war. When everything else in the game felt fluid, the jump button made scaling walls, wall running/jumping very clunky. As you can see from my first 2 points, the game wasn't very consistent.
the voice acting was very cheesy (yet it appeared that it was trying to be serious). At the same time, I tried to keep in mind that it was inspired by a comic book.
After the last dungeon, the end-game gathering threw off the pacing EVEN more that the introduction sequence.
On apocalyptic mode the difficulty was extremely easy. I was expecting my frustration to stem from difficult combat sequences (that's what I like and have come to expect in an action/hack-n-slash), but everything listed above frustrated me twice as much.

Good thing I live in Scotland and am studying game development then :D I had no idea that Outerlight were Scotland based though. Where about were they? I live near the BP in Grangemouth well i can see it from my landing window xD cause im just down the road in Bo'ness all we have is a bloody steam railway :(
Its a shame RTW shut down in Dundee there was a lot of potential, and im actually glad the SNP's in power again since they seem to be fostering the industry a bit.

I came in here to say this, so well played. Also, the story is easily one of the best in video games to date.
Easily this. The game was amazing. Not only did it have an awesome soundstrac of over 100 metal/hard rock songs, but it also had voice talents of Ozzy, Lemmy killmister, Lita Ford, Jack Black, and Rob Halford! Hell, alll of the voice wor was great. It had an epic stroy, uniique setting and gameplay. Taking place in the land of Heavy Metal (basically) the actal world was open, so you can drive your hotrod around, from mission to mission, or just loo for hidden stuff. The actual missions in the game slowly introduced the concpets to play the game. Because at first, it can be a bit overwhelming Its an Action/RTS, so while yo umake trops from your stage, you also have to fight with them, and play solos on your guitar to buff your army. The only other structures you build are fan geysers you tae, that become a merch booth to attract fans, which are currency in battle for you to buy more units. Really this is an amazing game, and my only complaint is that the actual campagin is way too short on its own, but since Double Fine had to swap publishers to EA, because Actvison dropped them, its kinda of expected. It sucks that a third of the stuff had to be cut, but Im glad it got picked up and at lest made i through the door. Had the other content been in ther (I'm assuming more campaign, and factions to play as in the muliplayer, as well as posssible campagin for other factions) then it wouldhave easily ben a 10/10, but as is, its a 9.5/10.
I'm a CoH fan. Is it kind of a spiritual successor of Company of Heroes or is it different in some essential ways? It's rather unforgiving and strenuous, but it's the type of RTS that WWII buffs have waited a long time for. It's usually overlooked for Company of Heroes.

yes! talk about an amazing revolutionary game. this game utterly destroyed all tony hawk games with just the controls.
Condemned 2 for sure. The plot took a huge turn for the stupid halfway through, but up until then it was a thrilling and fun mystery/brawler.
I'm a CoH fan. Is it kind of a spiritual successor of Company of Heroes or is it different in some essential ways? It's an entirely different game. It has the usual attention to tiny details that characterizes Russian dev studios, and it makes the user much more involved (for instance, you can change the loadout of individual soldiers and take manual control of every unit, ranging from said soldiers to a KV tank).[QUOTE="Verge_6"]

Storytelling is amazing, but the story they were trying to tell was nonsense. That said, it's my answer as well. Please Log In to post.
