Any moron can get a job at gamespot, plus i got my high school diploma thank you very much, so i guess i'm qualified enough.

Really? I honestly would have guessed that you are 13-14 years old considering your Pokemon fetish
nahh mate 18
an 18 year old who acts like he's 12?
well this is system wars, at this point it's not too unexpected
also: if any moron can get a job at gamespot, then why don't you?
I'm not sure who exactly would fit the bill and who they would replace, but I would want someone who could easily inform the reader/viewer with as much information about the game as possible in the review; from a gameplay standpoint, not story or spoiler standpoint. Sometimes the intricacies of a game are nice to read up on.
I also want someone who is entertaining and is having fun with his job. Sometimes it seems like it's too much of a hassle, and honestly if there's one reason I do enjoy IGN it is that they seem to have a lot of fun with their job.
With japanese games scoring well below what they deserve and well below Meta critics, I'd suggest getting someone to review japanese games, especially JRPGs. There are a lot around to fit into this position perfectly

Yangire would be a very good candidate since he has the knowledge and love for the games to determine good qulaity vs not. Finalstar2007 has the knoledge but his level of love for them makes me think the quality of his actual ratings would be bloated.
That's actually a really good point. The game industry does this a lot. They will just randomly assign who's ever on staff to review what ever game is next to review. If you get someone who hates a type of game, that he's assigned to that very same type of game, then obviously his scores wont be all that fair. The game wont get a fair shake. The bias is already there. It would be like getting someone who only has experience as a basketball coach to go grade an NFL summer combine ect. You at least have to get someone who is knowledgable, and doesn't have any heavy preferences one way or another . Just my opinionWith japanese games scoring well below what they deserve and well below Meta critics, I'd suggest getting someone to review japanese games, especially JRPGs. You at least have to get someone who is knowledgable, and doesn't have any heavy preferences one way or another . Just my opinion I think it would be hard to do in reality, as popularity of genres are varies. For example, there're way more shooter fans compared to sim fans, so it would be difficult to find a reviewer who only review sim games. 2nd point: games in different genre are different in number, in a year you can have 10 shooters and maybe 0 sim game, what would the sim reviewer do? Tell him to review other games? But what if he only like sim game and dislike every other genre? 3rd point: bias is always there, when you find a reviewer that is particularly a fan of a genre (or franchise), he'll rate it more highly than it deserve (Eg: Greg Miller and his lol 10 for UC3). You wouldn't want it if Gears or Halo are given to a gears fan and get 10s right? 4rd point: It will be harder for company to manage different games, different genre to different staffs, that will cause more time > decrease work efficiency. With japanese games scoring well below what they deserve and well below Meta critics, I'd suggest getting someone to review japanese games, especially JRPGs. If I could nominate ANYONE, it would be me... but I can't.
So I'd just have ispeakfact review 360 games and WilliamRLBaker review PS3 games. It would be funny.
ispeakfact.
They could even give him his own show every week called Sony Domination Continuation. He doesn't have to review 360 games, just PS3 ones. And he could go around on his show laughing at people who troll him and just say "you jelly" with some funny pics.

I think you need at least have a High School Diploma to be a game reviewer. Maybe GS will have a job opening in 5 years when you're done

Well you said "to" instead of "too" so that makes me think you haven't made it passed middle school English.
DLC on the other hand...I think Wasdie would be a good reviewer. From what I've seen, he approaches games very well.

I have literally dozens of reviews and none of you recommend me? :x

Who are you? :?
I've been posting here for years. :(
Then again, I have a relatively low post count. :P
maybe because you scored the like of KZ3 9.0 but >> rated UC2 among theives 8.5?
casharmy
At least KZ3 had a good MP.
DLC on the other hand...What? Because he thinks it's okay to charge for maps? I kind of agree with him, as long as the maps are good. And yeah it takes way longer to make a map now. There's so many maps for games like Quake 3 because they were very easy to make.I think Wasdie would be a good reviewer. From what I've seen, he approaches games very well.

If anoymous, I would be dropping 5s and 4s and be done with it. I would never be a sycophant like mosts of gamespot employees. The day when gears of war/god of war gets the 4/10 they truly deserve is when I would actually have faith. They love to s*** on b-tier and japanese games but if it is an artsy independent/triple A franchise game. Constructive criticism/any criticism is thrown out of the window. Heck, I haven't heard incoherent plot for uncharted 3 as a criticism. When during one part you literally destory a cruise ship and spend a couple days in the water. After all of that pain you take a 3 hour nap and poof you are suddenly back to yourself. Reviewers are joke. They can't understand basic emotional beats and how awful they are truly deplorable in bioware games. Instead, fawning articles and calling gamers out that didn't like the game as entitled. I think they should be required to take criticism course on literary, and a bunch of journalism classes to get the job. But, I feel like highschool diploma is all you need to get this job.
Yeah, swap those two. McShea is better at trolling and Stevo is better at reviewingreplace tom mcshea with stevo

Darklink77 or jgxchamp I prefer reading reviews that are overly critical than those that praise everything. At least with the former, I know I am getting an actual opinion tempered by reason and not some fanboy drivel. I don't know if Gamespot needs a "replacement" so much as they need more, better reviewers. When they have to outsource a review, and constantly miss numerous titles, they need to bring in more staff. And they need to lose the scoring system entirely.ZevianderReview scores are broken since game reviewers don't do aynthign consistent. There has been no critiquing of triple A or independent games. And insane critiquing of B tier games it is revolting. I have never seen an industry that is so null of any constructive criticism except video game journalism. They need to understand that I don't have any ability to trust their opinions after all the stuff they pulled this generation.
