no idea we have to play it first.maybe the game is justnot perfect?

It wasn't CG, everything was done real-time it just wasn't gameplay.. Kinda like an MGS cut-scene per say, same kind of idea. Its all done using the PS3. I've seen Dirt do it, I've seen motorstorm do it, Polyphony digital can't; c'mon now.
Adrian_Cloud
For the record, I didn't say Polyphony Digital couldn't do it and I still think that particular scene was CG. They never said the video was entirely real time and even on GT5 Prologue, the video is listed as a "concept video".
As far as any of us knows, it could be CG. Whether or not it actually is, remains to be seen.
I hope that the gt damage is more than just the rumored rally and nascar. It's the modeling stuff that doesn't matter, it's all about the proformance changing stuff.
Edit* spelling, I suck at it today.
its had performance changing, just no modelingmaybe GT5 might have it, they took notes on forza 3. in case anyone is curious: instead we know GT5 have for sure that forza 3 doesnt: 16 cars instead of 8 Nascar Rally F1 Cars Dynamic Weather Real Time Dirt kicking up to make cars dirty Damage and Landing Damage and some other things i dont remember at the moment.stylesPS3
You seem to have an interesting definition of "know". The only things from that list that have actually been confirmed and/or demonstrated are:
16 cars on track
Nascar license (no information on how it will be implemented)
WRC license (no information on how it will be implemented)
The Ferrari F2007 F1 car (no information regarding the actual F1 license, nevermind the fact F1 as we know it probably won't exist by the time GT5 hits shelves).
The other points are either rumours, based solely on a non-gameplay trailer, or have not been demonstrated whatsoever (and considering Polyphony Digital's history of over-promising and under-delivering, I'm not putting much faith in their word). GT5 looks like it will be a great game regardless of whether or not it has "minor feature X" or "pointless extra Y", so why bother with the speculation and hearsay?

learn your games first, or read the entire thread. either way dont just jump in with the same thing that got shut down before you. There's a hardcore Racing game over at ******* that makes Forza and GT look like child's play, literally. It's the most in depth racing game to ever exist.

It's not even debatable that PC SIM'd are the genre definition...but just stop...The topic is on car customization
Your advertising a site/service that comprises of a mouthy fee and nickel and dimes yea to death..In my 6 month membership...It cost a shy under 500 bucks..While the experience was fun. IMO it simply is not worth it.

What's up with this error for using ceartain words? such as someones username?

No..
]Yep, the topic is car customization, and although it used to be amusing I'm getting tired of people comparing GT5 to Forza 3, when we know very little about GT5. Agree? It's not even debatable that PC SIM'd are the genre definition...but just stop...The topic is on car customization

Yeah that's why he's leading the points right? Doesn't matter though, he could win every race of the year but he'd still act like a jerk so most people would still hate the guy.Kyle busch is the best, just so you know.

Thanks Tobin...
And I agree the photo threads are boring as hell now...Anytime we fans get technical about the two games the thread shuts down..
It's funny because yea never see the same cast of characters that notoriously post in the photo threads even touch the technical side...You can tell who are the fans of the genre and the tourists that just occupy space..

yeah most of the time these guys don't care at all about any racing games. And once they start talking about them they magically forget all the other racing games out there. WHICH, btw, I think Formula 1 Championship Edition was an awesome game for the PS3's early days. I wish codemasters would release some new info on their 2010 F1 game.Kyle busch is the best, just so you know.
Yeah that's why he's leading the points right? Doesn't matter though, he could win every race of the year but he'd still act like a jerk so most people would still hate the guy. Ironically stewart is my other favorite =P Yea, hes a character, but hes just kinda fun to watch. hes definately got the talent. I mean what's funner to watch, jimmi jhonson win get out and say "ohh man my car was great I wanna thanks my sponsors and the team" Or kyle win by doing something crazy/completely ballsy, go park the car with 75 thousand people booing him, Bow, with the lil occky grin, Get out and do something else that will piss everyone off? OR Jr try to find his pit? Funny thing is, the world partly hates kyle becouse he got loose and took out earnhardt last lear, earnhardt did the same thing to mark martin this year, same track and corner.I don't like customizations (putting a girlfriend's portrait in your hood, putting flowers in your car exterior), I find it a bit... Tacky. I prefer the originals more. Oh just my two cents, I just have this feeling GT will outsell Forza a lot. GT has good marketing strategies. :Pdouble_heist
Most people don't do weird stuff like that, it's mainly race style liverys:

Not even other games.....they cant even discuss the technical factors of the game they are defending so heavily......I can think of only a few guys (GT fans/True fans of the genre) that are Tech/gear heads that actually bring something to the threads......I just find it comical is all...
F1 Champ is not bad at all......But for my F1 fix Rfactor is really the way to go IMO...
I think we will hear a lot more about what Codies will do with F1 after Dirt 2 is released. ...I REALY REALLY hope they do something more with the license than what Sony did..While F1 Champ was fun it did not truly capture the intensity and pinnacle of motorsports that F1 is synonymous for..
Yeah I am interested to see how well they can portray the sport. Thank god FOTA decided not to break off from F1 and do another series or the new game could have been in serious jeopardy. Not even other games.....they cant even discuss the technical factors of the game they are defending so heavily......I can think of only a few guys (GT fans/True fans of the genre) that are Tech/gear heads that actually bring something to the threads......I just find it comical is all...

That was a freaking nightmare.....
I am glad Mosley is out ..He did some good for the sport.....but is a d-bag....Next up Bernie..get that greedy SOB out and I think A LOT of the political crap will end(At least for awhile);)
I'm not sure about Forza but with NASCAR 09 you actually had to create the skin in photoshop or another editor and then apply it into a 3D software thing to save it in the right format. The interesting thing about it all is I am surprised that the game makers don't get in trouble from businesses that don't want to be represented in the game or want to be paid licensing fees. I mean there's many places now that want you to pay to use their logos or anything reflective of their business, even if that happens to be on fan made art.How the hell do people do that?
Wasdie
Yeah I agree. Hopefully they will bring some racing back to the states, I really liked the Indy race (minus tire issues of course). I am interested to see how the new American team will do as well. That was a freaking nightmare.....

I know right!!..Hell even NA..Canada was cancelled...
There seems to be a push in the US media...Fox sports is airing 4 races this year.....Speed has always done a great job...but it needs to branch off "cable" for it to go mainstream....
USF1 team owner and principal Peter Winsor is a great guy....He should bring some fight and make it fun to watch....So with more media coverage and a US F1 team..A race should not be too far off
Modnation Racers kills Forza in terms of customization.
wackapacka
that is also a kart racer, this is a racing simulator/ they are way different games. Thats like comparing the games to Mario Kart :P
Id say that from the racing games Ive experienced not many have matched Forza 3 but I also rarely play any racing games :P
Forza2 won in the custimization department... so i guess Forza3 will improve the forumla and retain the crown for best custimization features in a racing game :)
[QUOTE="The_Game21x"][QUOTE="CwlHeddwyn"] SHOCK HORROR dirt based on LAPS but nof Real-time = HUGE FAILSeeing as he's wrong anyway, double fail. :P either show us the footage of what GT5 showed or stop trying to decieve ppl into thinking they are the same. like i said to tobin, you guys really like to make people think something even though its not true. lets see it. Show us footage of a car landing into dirt road, kicking up all the dirt and making the car dirty in real time. Why not show us this? if im the one whos wrong, go ahead, prove it. Show us the video. lets see them being the same. but if you cant, then we know your real agenda. Smoke and Mirrors.stylesPS3
This hole joke of 'real-time' dirt is stupid. It's only going to be during the rally races for crying out loud! Your not going to come across mud patches on the race track where most of this game will be played! And if you want real-time mud flying onto cars go and play the original Colin McRae Rally on PS1 or this gen Sega Rally!
Oh! and about F1 on GT.....NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! There will be ONE CAR....but Forza now has the whole Le Mans licensed.
they need a video tutorial on FM3 on how the hell to make anything close to these designskingcobrasoccerSeriously. When I took a a peek at Forza 2 I just went "whaaaa...?". It's basically like the first time you start up Photoshop or whatever. What is going on? Ended up just slapping on a bunch of stickers.

lol, well tbh that makes me wanna et forza 2 even more then, cuz I love learning art programs like PS.
but at E3 they said that Forza 3 is suppsed to be a lot more user friendly.
I sure hope so, GT needs to improve to outdo Forza. what else did anyone think they were taking notes on?to change the whole driving mechanic of their own game and start over again?lol. you do realize that if PD were to all of a sudden want to add in the customization options that Forza 3 allows, that you wouldn't be seeing GT5 for another 2-3 years, right?[QUOTE="mitu123"][QUOTE="stylesPS3"] well polyphany was taking notes on the game, probably checking what different kinds of designs they had for customization colors so they can add those and make it better for GT5. stylesPS3
Forza has that too :DI prefer the look of the cars without custom paint. I care more about customizing under the hood.
Kahuna_1
With all the features jammed into Forza it blows my mind that T10 has time to actually add things like this, and now with F3, video editing. These guys don't sleep.
