I've never played a Metroid game, but have played Meteoidvania games..Metroid Dread will be my first in the franchise. How about you, SW? What popular franchises have you never played?

Played the OG (8 bit) Ninja Gaiden titles but none of the modern ones.
Stuff like Forza probably never play.
Honestly can’t really think of any popular franchises where I haven’t played at least one game in it. There’s popular games that I haven’t played such as Fortnite and PUBG but those aren’t franchises.
Destiny, The Division... probably a lot of shit I can't think of.
You'll probably enjoy Metroid. Dreads as good an entry point as any, but plenty of good games to check out.
@ConanTheStoner: I think I will too, especially on my new Switch OLED 😎
What's the best metroid game in your opinion?
I don't know about franchises, but i never played Fartnite and PUBG as individual games. Fartnite being especially disgusting and i wouldn't play it even somebody paid me to do so.
The Sims, World of (Tanks, Planes, Warships), Minecraft, DOTA, League of Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch, Borderlands, Civilization, Total War, Football Manager, Just Dance, Pokemon, Dragon Ball, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Naruto, Dragonquest, Monster Hunter, Persona, Animal Crossing, Tales, and most weeaboo trash.

Pretty standard answer, my favs have always been a tossup between Prime and Super. Only on my second run of Dread, but it's shaping up nicely.
Lots of good games tho. Would for sure try Super, Fusion, and the entire Prime trilogy if possible.
I suspect you might even prefer the Prime games. Think giant Zelda dungeons, only much better, and that's the entire game lol.
Oh yeah, apparently AMR2 is top notch. I played just a bit before being side tracked, need to knock that one off the list.
@uninspiredcup: gotta play NG 1&2 man they are top tier. Back in the day I got the OG Xbox only because of that game. Honestly worth trying the sigma collection. Not quite as good as the originals but you can't go wrong with it if you never played em.
Ye, see nothing but praise and not just from "how the **** do you beat Spongbob" game journos but from people who actually know how to play games.
Was gonna get the Steam collection but apparently the ports abysmal. Maybe just pick it up at the Christmas sale if it's heavily discounted.
Never played a Pokémon game, with exception of Pokémon characters being in Super Smash Bros games, but I have played a good bit of SMT and SMT subseries, so kind of samey.
Let's see...
-Forza (Driving sims not for me)
-Total War (I have Shogun 2 on Steam though)
-Command and Conquer (I have one of them on Origin though)
-Metro (I have 2033 on Steam though)
-Worms (and I got a lot of those on Steam)
Final Fantasy. And a lot of Japanese games in general.
I've dabbled with JRPG's and even a wee bit of Final Fantasy but as I've said before I'm just not the biggest fan of Japanese games, their overall aesthetic, gaudiness, etc..
I'll keep trying, though, people really seem to like them.

Oh ya. Never touched a Pokémon game before. Literally never.
Not sure why lol. Roommate even offered once like 'Hey check this out' and I'm just like 'nah bro I'll take your word for it'
@mrbojangles25: I'm with you on FF. Aside from Realm Reborn, which not really sure counts, tried a few, and it's always resulted in "eh", 8 being, "no, stop".
Know don't hate JRPGS cause played Nihon Falcom titles and those are universally dope.
Nioh, demon souls and Metroid is the first 3 that comes to mind! Kind of want to play the new Metroid game, so yeah that might be gone from the list soon:)

Is TLOU considered a franchise now? Life is Strange ?
Never have played The Elder Scrolls ... i want to try Skyrim since is on every platform known to man but i fear i will never get close to finish it.
Also i haven't played a single GTA since San Andreas ... and i don't intend to change that anytime soon.
Hmm. I'd say pretty much every PlayStation first party franchise except Horizon Zero Dawn. Might change in the coming years, though.
Nintendo... ...that's a bit different. I've actually played quite decent variety of Nintendo first party stuff, including Mario, Zelda and Metroid, all of them GameCube and older. No, I will not elaborate on how and where I played them.
I've also never played exclusively multiplayer games like Overwatch and PUBG, and MMOs like World of WarCraft and EVE Online. As far as I'm concerned, anything can be fun with other people; the true test of a game is single player.
Actually pretty difficult question for me to answer, because I'm such a dabbler. "Hmm... ...maybe Battlefield? Oh nope, played Bad Company 2. What about FIFA? Oh yeah, FIFA 13 is in my Origin library. How about Rainbow Six? Wait a minute, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, so nope." And so on.
i have never played any of sony exclusives. also never played any of the Metroids. none of the fifa, madden, or nba2k hmmm basically any sport game but i have tried racing. never played flight sim. pubg, overwatch, hell any pvp only game. damn if i really think about it this list could get really really long
- Devil May Cry (I don't know why. I thought it was just trying to be too edgy when I was a kid lol)
- Fortnite (Not sure if this counts but haven't played it and don't really want to)
- Gears of War (Never really played much on Xbox. Halo made for some fun split screen couch co-op back in the day, though)
- Kirby (Never played a Kirby game)
- Mario Party
- Fifa (Not that big on sports games and will probably lean towards American Football like Madden when I do feel like playing a sports game)
- Bayonetta
- Okami (Not sure if this counts since it's only one game but haven't played this one either. I want to, though)
