The short list:
Elite, as a word, only begins to describe PC gaming/gamers.
- A lot of unplayed Steam games
- Specs in their sig to show off their hardc0re rig
- Condescending attitude towards non-PC gamers
- Gross sense of self-entitlementThat's it, I think. Feel free to add on!

Bow down peasant!
Personally, anybody who plays PC games. We can further differentiate if we really need to.
It's not like there's a standard Ohsnapitz. Hermits don't all meet up to discuss the exact definitions of things.

We totally do, you just aren't invited.
:P
Anyone who enjoys any kind of gaming on PC is a PC gamer, casual games and all. I own all consoles and PC, I enjoy gaming on PC more, but I don't believe in all the master race nonsense.
I am going to go out on a limb here and say most people here are hardcore gamers. So by default a pc gamer here would also be a hardcore gamer here. Most pc gamers I know personally or online have more games than free time. They are also active in helping each other and giving out infomation on new hardware or games or sales ect. They are usually a very tight knight group and will help new guys with info or free items/money to help newbs get up to speed. We are also most of the time at a very high level from playing said games for a long time.
I personally would like to see more pc gamers but not idiots good guys.
for me a pc gamer qualifies as
a arrogant A-hole
person that links their pc specs
brags about mods all the time
cry about pc games going to consoles
brag graphics over gameplay alot.
am i in the ballpark here? as a pc gamer it saddens me to see alot of fellow pc gamers are A-holes about console gamers
The final rite of passage for a PC gamer in my opinion is when you see people getting butt-hurt, anal devastated, rectum pained, sphincter splinters over you playing PC games. Not bragging about PC games, not stating facts and not asserting your opinion on anyone else but when the mere act of being a PC gamer gets people crying rivers, you know you've made it.

Every faction has a few, and each fanboy is certain someone else started it, and acts waaayyy worse. :P
Don't fret over the console crews. They can give as well as they get!
Great people = Arrogant pricks here wow[QUOTE="waltefmoney"]

I'm not a hater. :(
One who games on their PC, regardless of the kind of gaming, though you can subcatergorize people into casuals, mainstreamers, and hardcore people depending on what they play. Something like Facebook games crosses a line to a degree, since those can be played across many platforms (I would assume they support any web browsing device that meets whatever runtime requirements like Flash or Java).
A person on a Netbook playing Quake II or Half Life could be a PC gamer. Basically PC gamer is the more gloriously vague gaming platform label out there since it's a very ambiguous way to catergorize someone.
A long and unneeded knowledge into the inner workings of computers and the best hardware, despite arguments that the best isn't needed.
A die-hard dependence on steam for the Hard-Core stuff.
A seeming intelligence preceeded by their generic arguments.
A snootiness that should only be in the possesion of the 5 richest Kings and Queens of Europe.
