[QUOTE="GamingVengeance"][QUOTE="CanYouDiglt"]I do not care much for using mods also. I have used them for games but it is rare. WoW was the only game i used a bunch of mods for but other games if I actually used them it was only one or two at most.

wis3boi

but you actually know how to use them atleast, i dont care if some people find value in them or not. for every person that loves modding their game, there's someone who doesnt mod at all. when i asked him if hes used them before he just avoided the question by replying, they usually dont work, which everyone knows is bullsh!t.

it's the common remark of someone who used one or two mods and didnt install them corectly or got some junk mod. I fail to see how someone could not enjoy new armors, weapons, houses, questlines, and spells. Stuff like that

I have around 52 mods for Skyrim atm (Steam Workshop and Skyrim Nexus), a lot of mods can conflict with other mods making those errors show up or make the game buggy where those mods are installed. Also a lot of times mods aren't patched in and can get out of date very quickly which can also lead to those dang errors/bad mods.

Putting in mods for Skyrim is as easy as it gets when it comes down to installing mods. With Steam Workshop and Skyrim Nexus mod management downloader all the installing the mods is automatically done for you. I know it's a pain in the arse to manually DL/install mods on other games, getting mods for Skyrim is so easy even people who lack computer skills like myself should do it with ease.

All I have to say is: Why does anyone need graphics to be that realistic? It's nice and all...But look at PS2 graphics:

FFXII

Why do people need MORE detail than this?

I'm still impressed by PS2 graphics today. There's no need for any more detail. You really can't ask for much more.

Gamers sure are over-demanding.

Off topic but FF12 is such an underrated FF game.

Sort of on topic not every gamer drools over high resolution graphics, art style can be just as great.

Is that running on a Nasa Super Computer if you want to run at 60@fps.

I bet on a high end PC using a GTX690 you are getting 20@fps using that many mods.

because some of us are willing to move on in life and not stick with the past forever. I'm sure bac in '85 people like you sat there and said the same thing about super mario. I for one am glad the boundaries keep getting pushed, because it's more than just eye candy. Without advancement, gameplay cannot advance either

Yeah, that looks like garbage. It has a decent artstyle, but the textures and lighting is bleh. We're already spoiled, so going to back to this is too much to ask.

Yeah, this article makes is sound like it's some crazy impesssive feat. On my Skyrim, I'm also using roughly 100 mods, ranging from minor gameplay fixes to texture replacements (many which were mentioned on that blog), and everything works fine. I don't use any mods that mess with the overall feel of the game, though, I'm just aiming for the improved vanilla version...

100 mods isn't much at all, no idea why are some people surprised :? Those graphics are the result of a handful of filters and HD textures mod, sheer number means jacksh!t.

Ermm well it is a ps2 game, still go look at some original screens its a massive improvement for 5 mins work and i was just showing that mods can even improve games that are not even made for the system it runs on.

That's a shot from an emulator with AA and its running at a higher resolution than PS2 can output.

If you want to praise PS2s graphics at least use an actual PS2 screenshot ...

If you know what you're doing you can run the max number of mods, 250, with minimal or irrelevant conflicts.

It's not rocket science, if a mod changes something, then don't download another mod that changes the same thing.

Most mods also come with a compatibility list.

But the PS2 looks NO WHERE NEAR that good. I have FFXII on PS2, and when I tried playing it 4 years ago, it looked ABYSMAL. By today's standard I think I'd puke. the PS2 version is 640x480p with no AA which looks eye bleedingly TERRIBLE. plus, there's no high dynamic range, the textures are low res and so on. It looks awful. Your screenshot other hand, does NOT look that bad because it simply isn't the PS2 version. its the PC version. Thats what FFXII looks like in 1920x1080p (8 times PS2s native resolution), added anti aliasing, HDR on and possibly re done textures / character model mods. Even if Square Enix made a "Final Fantasy Collection" with FFX and FFXII remastered on the PS3, it wouldn't looks as good as in your screenshot. 720p resolution and 2 X AA is surely MUCH better than the PS2 version, but not quite on par witjh the PC emulated version. So nice try, but PS2 graphics are garbage.

Are you kidding me? Final Fantasy XII has some of the most impressive graphics of its generation. When I first saw it, I thought it was a PS3 game.

Try playing a PS1 game and then you'll realize just how good PS2 graphics are.

The PS2 can provide us with enough detail. Even a game like Wild Arms 3 impresses me. The graphics are so smooth. No more shaky textures, I can see detail in people's faces and clothing, smooth framerates and realistic terrain with detailed textures.

What more can you ask for? PS2 graphics are really freaking good. Look at Killzone 1:

Killzone

But no...Everything has to be viewable in 1080p with not even the SLIGHTEST blurry texture. -_-

Yes, it should run properly with no conflicts and crashes, but due to that unreleased WIP grass mod, your frame rate would suffer a lot, you'd need a beastly PC to maintain a playable frame rate...

Low graphics doesn't mean it won't be fun. I still have old DOOM classics in my PC and some other old PC games, I still play them.

If you can't stand crap graphics, you have weird standards.

Gamers like this are the reason the industry is going down the toilet. Gamers today are becoming so spoiled and over-demanding.

You're call this abysmal?:

FFXII

I won't bother saying anything else. It's not worth my time.

Its outright disgusting

But the PS2 looks NO WHERE NEAR that good. I have FFXII on PS2, and when I tried playing it 4 years ago, it looked ABYSMAL. By today's standard I think I'd puke. the PS2 version is 640x480p with no AA which looks eye bleedingly TERRIBLE. plus, there's no high dynamic range, the textures are low res and so on. It looks awful.

I'm sorry, but I don' play my games on a tiny post card, I play them on a 100" inch screen which is 4 times the size of a 50" HDTV. That game would make me puke at a hundred inches.

All I have to say is: Why does anyone need graphics to be that realistic? It's nice and all...But look at PS2 graphics:

Why do people need MORE detail than this?

I'm still impressed by PS2 graphics today. There's no need for any more detail. You really can't ask for much more.

Gamers sure are over-demanding.

Low graphics doesn't mean it won't be fun. I still have old DOOM classics in my PC and some other old PC games, I still play them.

If you can't stand crap graphics, you have weird standards.

I never said that. I was an avid Diablo 2 gamer until 2009. in 2009 it was 9 years old and people were comaplaining about it looking bad in 2000. To me it was completely fine. I only cared about how fun and addictive the game is.

Look at some of the games released today and compare them to that, we have come such a long way in such a short period of time.

I'm not sure how you can still be impressed with those graphics but they're nothing special, i want developers to keep pushing the boundaries and continue to make games look better and better.

Lmao, you know your argument are goddamn weak when you need to post an image that is microscopic to prove that it looks "okay". Sure a VHS tape looks good on a 60" HDTV... if you sit 10 metres from the screen, but you're not going to sit 10 metres from the screen are you? you're going to sit 2 metres from the screen.. and with blu-ray you can without seeing a single pixel.

Something tells me you're gaming on a 13" CRT screen and not getting why we don't think PS2 games look good...

So, by your flawed logic, PC gamers must use mods to make themselves classed as PC gamers?

Don't make me laugh. No need to embarrass yourself further.

GamerwillzPS

PC gamers bother with mods. lol

That's a stereotype.

Some casual gamers do play on PC. It could be anything. I for one don't use mods.

Whatever you are doing, good luck with errors. 100 mods conflicting with each other.

Again your talking out of your ass, I understand it may seem difficult to mod a game for you , but please don't try to act like you know from first hand experiance because its obvious you've never modded before

That is impressive, you can read his blog were he said that he tried roughly 300 mods over time and right now he used over 100 for those screenshots. To fuel that amount of research & patience you need a sh*tload of passion. He must love Skyrim a lot.

The most i've added to a Elder Scrolls game is a number of 32 mods for Morrowind to make the game suit my vision of a great game (vanilla is horrible gameplaywise, storywise, AI wise and graphics wise), and i lost my f*cking mind.

I usually don't care for mods myself unless it catches my eye. I installed a graphics mod for Crysis which just totally changed the way the game looked and made it look so much better. Even ran better. There are a few mods I think I would be interested in installing such as the fire horse. I'm not too big on modding though because I'm not very knowledgable on the subject. Tried installing a graphics mod along with a lighting mod on Crysis, and the graphics mod seemed to override the lighting mod. It was ok, 'cause the game still looked better.

Very ignorant. You probably should be quiet.
