If you want to stay in the past and ramble on about how things were "better" (even though they weren't), more power to you. But I'm going to stay in the present.

Some of these posts are downright ridiculous. How can someone call a PC gamer NOT a PC gamer just because they don't use mods? Mods are great I love them and find many of them useful and fun to use but they are not necessary to play a PC game. They are just "there" to add to the experience, it's optional. Low graphics doesn't mean it won't be fun. I still have old DOOM classics in my PC and some other old PC games, I still play them.

The ENBs in skyrim don't look all that great in motion to be honest. There are a few that are pretty amazing,but you have to remember these are being created by hobbyists and tend to come with bugs. I think the graphics overhauls done to keep Morrowind updated where much more impressive.

I concur. I recently re-bought a Gamecube after not having one since 2006, and I bought a copy of Metroid Prime. Now that game's graphics still impress me to this day. I will gladly take an artstyle over raw graphical power any day of the week. I think people should clamour for better hardware for things like physics, artificial intelligence, enemy/object density etc. and less for raw graphical detail.

tons, but my main graphical ones include an 8k res milky way and starfield mods, along with 4k res HD textures on just about everything else, some HD water, new moon textures, and some city and wildlife sounds

The character models, grass, and sky textures look nicer, but I don't see any other differences tbh...superclocked

bokeh DOF, self shadowing objects, 4k-8k resolution textures, sunrays, better reflections, surfaces can get wet....lots of stuff in there
