[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"]No, Prime 3 was an average game. At best. When you consider the lineage- an excellent and probably most consistently highly rated (until then) series of all time in Metroid, and one of the best received reboots in the subseries Prime, Prime 3 was a letdown plain and simple. Nothing worked. except y'know, the controls, awesome boss fights, atmosphere and clever puzzles in some areas. or are you just letting your pure hatred for the wii filter out any of the qualities the game had?I still don't understand the massive amount of hate Prime 3 gets over here.
Sure it was a bit more linear and the final boss was a dud but it was a pretty sweet ride all the way up till that point.

Meh ignore Chaz, his tastes are awful and changes his mind every 2 months. :P
Prime 3 was at the time good. What hurt the game most was seperating it into multiple worlds. Instead of one giant planet to explore, it was broken up killing the exploration. Plus the last third was forgettable.
I don't think the controls were the problem as MPT was awesome with the Wii controls.
No, I agree with you. And when they do- like Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, or to an extent, God of War- the IP gets instant recognition even outside of Sony's own fanboy circles. Not something you can say for something like Uncharted or Resistance. I just find it frustrating that 'Sony makes new IPs all the tiem!!!1!!' is actually a bargaining chip in arguments now that 'Sony doesn't milk!' has been debunked Again, theintentdoesn't matter at all. What matters is the fact that we as gamers are wont to get much fresher experiences, and with more frequency, from Sony than we are from Nintendo. Doesn't mean sh!t when those fresh experiences can't measure up to exclusives on other system, let alone most multiplats.[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"] Well, maybe if they invested into an original IP instead of a cheap knock-off of something else, they wouldn't have these problems.RulerofGondor
Did you skip over all the lore behind Bryo and the war that the inhabitants had there?ShinobishyguyNo, but I fail to see how this has anything to do with anything that I said
I dunno man, I've been pretty consistent in my hatred for Prime 3, and my reasons for said hatred, over the last five years.Meh ignore Chaz, his tastes are awful and changes his mind every 2 months. :P

[QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"] So apparently the planet once being inhabited by a warring tribe of lizards doesn't countcharizard1605That doesn't matter if in the here and now, it doesn't feel abandoned. there's f*cking ruined structures and left over golums everywhere.
Is a new Metroid game.
charizard1605
I continued reading :)
I would LOVE a new Metroid, especially for 3DS. Picking up from where Fusion left off would be great. Also if a new Metroid game is released for the Wii U, that's when it isn't an option for me to not buy the console anymore.
I don't plan to anytime soon :P:lol: man don't ever change Chaz. :P
Seabas989
I take this to be a victory  [QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"] there's f*cking ruined structures and left over golums everywhere Seriously can you set aside you bipolarity for one second and realize that it's possible for a game to be not quite as good as the first two, yet still a good game in it's own right? Do you understand the simple fact that the mere presence of other characters detracts from the feeling and sensation of isolation that the the other games in the series were so good at establishing, that added to the atmosphere, and that the absence of that was why the atmosphere in the game suffered? Bipolarity? What bipolarity> I flat out say it- it was an average game. An average shooter, a less than average Metroid game, an average action adventure game. There was nothing special or even 'good' about it. You know series where I recognize a game is good even if it's not as good as the previous ones? Oh, I don't know. Pokemon? Super Smash Bros.? Mario Kart? The Legend of Zelda? God of War? Mass Effect? Assassin's Creed? The Elder Scrolls? I can go on forever. I recognize a game as being good when it is, in fact, good. Prime 3 was not. Prime 3 was an average game that felt even more subpar in context. Plain and simple.nah, too much work:P
you can keep your list...

Can't say anything about Metroid Prime Hunters, but Metroid Prime 3 is awesome and Other M is great.
We need one but not anytime soon.
I want Retro to explore more gaming options in their immediate future outside of Metroid Prime.
I don't mind them returning to the series, but Metroid Prime 3 was crap, so I want them to branch out and discover other ways to show all the talent they have that went untapped for that turd.

winchester, lil' homie. Tho i bet you don't smoke.
thread: actually, i think a 3rd person Metroid game would be fantastic, we already seen how well it worked in 1st person. Why milk prime? Prime 3 wasn't as good as the other ones either way.
You say that like its a negative thing. Metroid games ar esupposed to have little in the way of dialouge, let alone stuopid nonsensical dialouge for 30 min at a time. You obviously don't play metroid. I've been playing Metroid since NES. It's always been a cinematic game, of sorts. Who is to say the plot can't be a little more fleshed out? The world is certainly interesting enough to do so.[QUOTE="Heirren"][QUOTE="Jonwh18"] their stories are terribly convoluted, heck no....

Fusion and Other M are excellent games, and great additions to the series (unlike Hunters), but I really think the best way to tell a "story" in Metroid is through the environment. The use of hostile and serene environments in Super is a great example, especially when the two come together in Maridia.
