Halo 2 by a freaking mile.
"Aw yeah! It's time to finish the fight!!!"
*credits roll*
*jaw drops to floor*
*five minutes pass, jaw is still on floor*
Although I think Bioshock takes the runner up position. Not only did it spiral into nonsensical...ness after the big plot twist about two thirds of the way through the game, but it culminated in the most piss easy final boss fight I think I've ever faced and one of the most unfufilling endings (I got the good ending btw) ever.
Final Fantasy 7's ending was total blow ignore the spin offs and sequal and prequal, Simple fact is that based upon the information given to you in the game when you defeat sephiroth....
The planet uses holy to kill off all the humans which is why 500 years later we see no one but animals and plant life
Ninja Gaiden Sigma has a pretty awful ending. Just beat the game the other day and the ending had Ryu saying "Its Over" to then turn into the wind and fly off. I checked online to see if Ninja Gaiden chooses your ending based on how you played the game (I assumed I had gotten the bad ending). But nope, thats how it ends.
agreed on ff7. After immersing myself into all the characters I wanted to see a straight up happy or sad ending revolving around them to know whats going to happen after all this. It felt like I just made some best friends to have alot of fun with for one week then I wake up one day and the've all dissapeared never to be heard of or seen again for a long time. It was a very empty feeling.
if you knew anything, you'd know that all the plot holes were meant to be explained, but they werent because lucas art rushed the developers. and also revans fate was suppose to be the third game before they madi it into an mmoKOTOR II. There were so many plot elements left unfinished that you could tell the game was half-baked. What was Revan's fate? Who/what was making the HK-50 assault droids? Nope, they don't answer any of that. From what I saw of the Light-side ending, you just took your ship and flew off to the unknown. Whoopee.
Honorable mentions;
Crysis; "Come on, we're taking the fight to the aliens!" *roll credits*
RB6:V; "Come on, we're taking the fight to that traitor!" *roll credits*

MGS4's. The damn thing was way too long and bloated and it didn't have nearly the kind of impact that it should have done. I got to the point where I just wanted it to hurry up and finish. MGS3's ending was perfect so I don't understand how they fluffed it up so badly. Silent-Hal
I thought the ending was amazing. I wasnt even expecting what happened. It blew my mind.

for me it wasn't the length that was the problem, it was the twist that came after the twist that kicked off the epilogue, revealed in flashback format. it went against what the rest of the game was trying to establish and in the end came off as a case of bad desperate writing in a misguided attempt to "resolve" things.
