What's better than Xbox Live?

Lets make a list of things that you could be spending $50 a year on that would be better than XBL. Try to keep it down to one item per post so the number of responses to this thread would be a somewhat accurate representation of the number of things you COULD Be doing instead of blowing $50 on XBL.

Minus, of course, the inevitable influx of those defending the service, insisting that because it's marginally better than "anything else" that it's worth the money.


I'm trying to make a point here about exactly how much $50 is worth.

I'll start with:

10 Virtual Console NES games.

15 Months of GS Total Access. No wait...

I suppose it would pay for your half of a meal in a restaurant....maybe.

Geeze, what restaurants are YOU going to? My favorite Japanese restaurant is only around $25 for me and my wife, and that's including sushi.

Then again, you might have a full family.






And... 3 new pairs of pants.

28 pounds

You could get a platinum ps3 game (R&C or Uncharted) and then a DL game like eden.

Or you could get the COD4 map pack, then 2 warhawk add ons and then get some food to eat whilst playing!

50 dollars. roughly 30-35quid.

So long as you get your money's worth out of whatever it is you're buying, it's pointless to make a thread like this. I mean what could you buy instead of an xbox? Or a PS3?

Dinner - 15 x 2 =30 dollars

Movies - 10x2 = 20 dollars

Normal date. Maybe cost of living is cheaper where I live but I could easily have a date for 50 dollars.

in london a date is roughly about 40quid also

movies £9x2=18

food(nandos) £7x2=14

bus tickets £2x2=4

total £36 :P
