EDIT look at one of the most popular PC games (outside of US) football manager series which has minimal graphics - it only just got 3D graphics last year!

graphics are the least important things in most PC games. The witcher, civilisation, the sims, Sins of a solar empire, etc are hardly graphical powerhouses, gameplay>graphics, but PC's can do amazing graphics as well. How does it come off as an insult exactly? He basically summed up the entire pc building experience and related to something else. It IS like building an expensive lego set. I fail to see the insult. Now if he said "well it's easy enough for someone like you because it's just like building a lego set", then I would see your point, nothing comes off as an insult from his post.

You may rather X shooter on X platform, but the PC does stick out clearly enough as dominant in this area.

The system has more AAA, AA, and A games than the consoles this gen alone.

A number of excellent exclusives, plus generally better multiplats.

I find it quite irritating that we have consolites regurgitate anti PC BS every day and preach the platform is unimportant compared to console gaming and so on, yet the moment someone thinks their provably higher end hardware is better than consoles then it is going too far.

I kno right, like pc can compete. The users just ignore the facts:

2. Developer support. 1st party? Sure, ya got scrub developer's like Valve (where user created content is far more popular than dev content so lol at valve skillzz). A few more developer's like blizzard are sorely needed. Even crytek realise the future.

3. It may cost $750 now, but next year add 250 to run the latest game, and the year after add again. new processor core series released? start over from scratch

4. Reliability. When i purchase a console game, bring it home it either works or its busted, allowing for replacement. I don't need to spend 2 hours on the internet searching the software conflict that i received with crysis. Hell, my copy of neverwinter nights didn't even have a REQUIRED file on the damn disc - this one took a day and a half of searching to find the cause, d/l the file and manually move it into the appropriate folder. fun experience, not.

Then there was the display driver issue i experienced with bioshock, which looks like to this day has never been resolved. Talk hardware, the last radeon i'll ever purchase was prone to over heating from the get-go. Had to install after market cooling to get the pos to do anything.

5. 30+ minute, 4-disc installs.

Eh, thats enough. now i got myself all mad thinking about my "fun" experiences with pc gaming.

I'll just mention that some games do run a dream, such as sims and world of warcraft, which are incidentally pc's biggest games, yet not played by me but my dear girlfiend. face it, casuals dominate the pc platform cos all the serious gamers are on HD consoles.

I own every console and a decent PC. Bow before me, simpletons.

No but seriously, PC > consoles, but that is just my opinion and preference. To each his own, guys. At the end of the day, be thankful we can enjoy any games at all. There are certain games that I would miss out on (KZ, MGS4, Halo for now, Mario Galaxy/Metroid) if I didnt have the consoles.

A lot of developers are going multiplat. Not just PC to consoles, but many are going consoles to PC. Look at Batman AA, Resident Evil 5, etc.

I haven't upgraded my computer in 2 years. It still runs every game at 1920x1200 full graphics. I also haven't upgraded to i7 yet, as i'm still using a C2D.

not its not. they are superior on pc and that can not be argued. you can use k/m or any game pad, 60fps constantly, hdtv or monitor, couch or chair, dedicated servers or p2p. pc is all about the options it gives you.

Yes it is. For example, I was a huge PC gamer, playing all kinds of FPS games ranging from CS to UT and when I played Halo multiplayer with 3 of my friends I didn't feel dissapointment or that the game was underwhelming compared to PC shooters. The game was well done and I enjoyed both singleplayer and multiplayer. PC FPS games may be superior in range of options but as far as enjoying the game goes, it's all about preference.

Ridiculous. This proves YOU are clueless about what you are doing, it's not a PC game problem. I only once had a problem that I couldn't solve in more than 10 minutes, and it happened when I was 12 years old.

Consoles are getting game installs too, just not yet as many. The number of disks is the least of the problems as you can play without any disk inserted on PC.
