It seems like they're getting harder and harder to come up with these days, doesn't it?

Its still pretty expensive for most people, especially when you consider the global economic situation and the price of its nearest competitor.
However I agree the PS3 is finally starting to prove its worth and I don't doubt that by the end of this gen it will have had the most impressive software lineup out of the 3 current-gen consoles.
Sony have just got to get their costs down.
I really want one, but I don't have the money. I'm moving and all of my money is going to u-haul/security deposit/rent/new furniture. It's ok though, because I still have tons of wii games that I haven't beaten 100% yet.
[QUOTE="AdoringFan_"]What about sheep? For most of the lemmings, its because of the price.

Sheeps follow Nintendo products too much. Even if the next nintendo console end up as expensive as the PS3 is currently they'll probably still get it, but right now they'll follow anyone's excuse to say PS3 is a bad console.

Oh, that makes sense, I guess.Price for me. I'll think about getting one when it drops to atleast $300. In the meantime I have my Wii and the recent releases have occupied me enough. And it's not like I have lots of time to spend playing either so like I said, I'm fine with my Wii & PCright now.
What usually drives me to purchase consoles are great jrpg titles. It is why i own a ps, ps2, but not the ps3.
Considering how far into this gen we currently are. I probably wouldn't want to purchase a ps3 at this point even if it did get a large ammount of tempting games.
I would then rather just wait for the next gen, and hope for good BC.
Fixed :DFor most of the people who don't have much money to spare, its because of the price.

Then why buy one...... sorry for not understanding.Took too long to get good games. I was going to buy one at launch.
I'll be getting one next week and hate it too.:)

I hate how people complain about the price, don't you people know that Sony loses several dollars every time they sell a PS3! Of course I think the PS3 would have been fine without the Bluray player which probably would have decreased the selling price(but thats what makes some people buy the PS3 in the first place).

Fixed again! :D
[QUOTE="mitu123"]Then why buy one...... sorry for not understanding. Dude, I hate all systems, all of them are flawed, but that didn't stop me from getting a $800 PC, Nintendo DS, Wii and 360. I know I'm going to like the PS3, but also hate it as well, if you know what I mean, if not, then I did a poor job of explaining.Took too long to get good games. I was going to buy one at launch.

I hate how people complain about the price, don't you people know that Sony loses several dollars every time they sell a PS3! lil_zelda_dudeAnd why should we, the consumers, care about how much money a company loses?
I could buy one when ever I want, but there aren't enough games that I am interested in to merit a purchase just yet and Wii is keeping me quite busy. I have played many of the multiplatform games that the PS3 has on my younger bros' 360. I am interested in Street Fighter IV, Deadspace, Uncharted, and LittleBigPlanet. When Beyond Good and Evil 2 is released, it will be a shoe in.
I haven't really been able to get into the FPS genre so I hope the next Uncharted keeps itself from turning too much into a shooter. The 5 minute gameplay video made it look very promising though.
Not really. I just want MGS4. And one game isn't good enough to buy an entire console.
I was interested in Killzone until my friend told me how ridiculously unbalanced it is. As for Infamous, I don't really care. It's looks good I guess but I'm not that interested. And honestly I never liked God of War. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not for me. I've never really felt the game was that fun. Sure it's bloody and over the top but the rest of the game doesn't really feel that outstanding to me.
I'm not about about to drop a crap load of cash for one game I want and three I find mildly interesting. I'll probably buy the PS3 some day. But unless a crap load of excelent exclusive games that cater to my specific tastes fall from the sky I probably wont be buy the PS3 till a price cut or two.
And really, if you already have a 360 it just isnt worth it. Sure, the PS3 is slightly ahead this year. Killzone 2 and and Infamous, whooho, right? But is two games really enough to just go out and buy an entire console? Three even?
The 360 and PS3 are just too much alike to throw down the cash for both if you're on a limited budget. Or at least thats what I think.
[QUOTE="lil_zelda_dude"]Regardless of if Sony loses money or not, the PS3 was and is an expensive console. The PS3 is at its lowest 400$ this was the price of the 360 at launch, Blu-ray players run at like 500-1000 dollars on their own, the PS3 has one, add how long the PS3 lasts and I'm pretty sure thats a decent *inexpensive* price for what you get.I hate how people complain about the price, don't you people know that Sony loses several dollars every time they sell a PS3! I had one and it messed up. I have to spend my money on other things at the moment. So I really don't have enough money to buy a PS3 right now. Oh well...

You can get nice players for $200....lil_zelda_dude
The PS3 is not inexpensive. Its either worth its price or its not, but $400 is hardly inexpensive for a toy.
Or for normal everyday people who don't want to spend 300 pounds on one console when I got my Xbox and my Wii for 330...For most of the lemmings, its because of the price.

, add how long the PS3 lasts and I'm pretty sure thats a decent *inexpensive* price for what you get.lil_zelda_dudeYou can spin it all you want with "long-term value" and whatnot, but unless you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, $400 is not inexpensive in any situation, especially in these days of economical woes.
