Can't decide between the Sega Megadrive, Saturn & Dreamcast. The golden age of gaming, gaming when it was at its purest, not season passes, microtransactions, lootboxes, broken games.
PC is by far, far the worst gaming platform there is.

Also, it can't be these old systems when Forza wasn't on them. Stop being fake.

Boomer? nope. Let me guess you're gen Z right?
While Forza is my best racing franchise, it doesn't alone beat the total amount of classics Sega made on those systems i mentioned.

I have no idea wtf gen Z is 😆
The PC. its one of the constants in gaming for me. i jump on and off consoles at various points but i always have a gaming PC.
I love its more open nature. its great that i can choose what goes into it. it works with every controller and primarily uses the GOAT (Mouse and keyboard.....i couldn't actually use it for ages but i managed to fix that now and MAN have i missed it). These days i can tinker if i want but everything tends to just work now (vast improvement from the late 90s/early 00s).
Then there are the games. All the multiplats (and the best version of those generally). Lots of variety, never a shortage of something to play. I would love to see more AAA games bringing top end PCs to their knees: really pushing the state of the art. but production costs are, sadly, a factor...and the AAA sector has bigger problems at the moment.
Really the only thing annoying me about PC gaming at the moment is the lack of hardware at a reasonable price...dam shortages :(.
My favorite systems of all time:
Nintendo Switch, Xbox One X, Xbox 360, Nintendo Gamecube, Sega Dreamcast, Sony Playstation 2 & 3, Nintendo DS & 3DS, SNES.
If I had to pick a single entry: Nintendo Switch.
Tough call. If we take out all previous gen ports, remakes, and backwards compatibility only focusing on what that specific gen offered, then I'd probably have to narrow it down to Genesis or PS1. Probably end up slanting more towards PS1 as so many incredible new IPs were made for the leap to 3D.
If we are including everything available on the system, then I'd probably go with PS4/5 (basically the same at this point). Every favorite series of mine with the exception of Dino Crisis have been on the PS4 in some fashion. PS5 is included in that as it plays all the good PS4 games.
As for handhelds, my pick is easy. Sega Game Gear. Hands down. I took that thing with me everywhere as a kid. I still have it and have fixed it up. If the IRS ever gives me the tax return I'm owed, I'm planning to buy the Everdrive for it. I may eventually upgrade the screen as well.
That would be the SNES for me. It had so many awesome games that are bona fide classics now along with my all time favourite game, Chrono Trigger. Some of my favourite games from that system are:
- Chrono Trigger
- Super Mario World
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- Super Metroid
- Super Castlevania IV
- Mega Man X
- Sparkster
- Contra III: The Alien Wars
- Breath of Fire I And II
- Final Fantasy II and III
- Sparkster
- Axelay
- Legend of the Mystical Ninja
- Final Fight 1,2, and 3
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time
I could go on and on. Such an amazing system.
1. Xbox 360
2. Xbox One
3. Sega Genesis
4. PS1
5. Xbox
6. Sega Dreamcast
7. PS2
8. Sega CD
9. Atari 2600
10. TG16

Lol, I wouldn't go that far, but it's definitely one of the most overrated.
Honorable mention goes to original Game Boy. I got one for Christmas the year it came out, and that thing is still functional. Mom plays Tetris on it.
But PC is my main squeeze when it comes to gaming...then, now, and always.
@sheep99: My freind, if this was an anime, you'd be the edgy anti-hero. Probably have like a little Kato mask or some shit.
Xbox 360 is my favourite console so far.
I don't count the PC, because it's not much of a discussion. It's omnipresent. It was the beginning, the present and will be at the end of gaming, with any of the one billion PCs able to play something. With an uncountable amount of games. What other system can come close.
@Telekill: Amstrad was popular in the UK during the 80s founded by Sir Alan Sugar and the Amstrad CPC (464-664 in my case) was a competitor to the ZX Spectrum and the C64 microcomputers of its time before the Acorn Apple and Amiga. Its one the systems i have the most fond memories of, I still have it in the loft.
