No, I play video games. The things that already aren't realistic. I'd love to see a group of kids in Fallout try to rob a caravan passing by (if I was chaotic good i'd falcon punch them across the map). Or a kid in TES trying to be some big hero. Just because they are in the game doesn't mean you have to find every last one and kill them on sight. It just adds to the immersion (like full fledged families) and it's fun.

It's harmful to the developer (due to the media backlash), it's harmful to players who would find it overly disturbing, it's harmful to the image of gaming in general and it would be harmful to everyone that thinks certain things are off-limits (which considering it's a taboo, I'm guessing they are many).

Just because the children ARE there, doesn't mean that you are forced to kill every single one in the game.
