When will we have games that surpass Crysis?

Its been out for 3 years, and there hasnt been any graphical progress in the industry. Do you think developers are waiting until the next consoles to come out before devoting resources (and money) to produce better visuals? And releasing them multi-platform?

Dont you mean crysis warhead? anyway 3-4 months thn crysis 2 will be the one to beat (PC)

You'll notice that the games that look so much more advanced than what you see on the consoles are almost always PC exclusives (with a few exceptions like Metro 2033). Developers aren't willing to spend significant time and money on advancements that only part of their audience would be able to have. It won't be until the next console generation (or, more accurately, the next Xbox) that we will start seeing Crysis-level multi-platform titles.

I think only TW2 has a chance, since Crysis 2 is multiplat and all.

I don't think it matters whether it's exclusive or multiplatform. Many of the latter still have a best-looking version.

I think you would have to be blind to not see the advancement in graphics these past 3 years. Crysis looks great, but it still has a lot of stuff that looks outdated and janky.

Nope, Crysis is still the best. Metro 2033 (PC) and Silen Hunter 5 come close though.

No console game even comes anywhere near close to Crysis level and anyone who says otherwise is just flat out lieing to themselves or is just a fanboy who has never been fortunate enough to have actually played any Crysis game.

Until them let system wars folk entertain you with an endless barrage of Crysis screenshots. You may claim that you dont see the difference, but rest assured you will be in the very small minority.

I own Crysis and max it out on a GTX285. It looks great but to say no console game comes close is absoutley hillarious at this point. The fact of the matter is graphic evolution has stagnated over the past 3 years. The only console really evolving is the PS3 with the 360 not really doing anythign significantly better then GeoW 2 and the PC not doing anything better then Crysis.

The reason for this is for for a PC game to really blow past consoles to the point where even the average person would notice it would need minimum requirements of probalby about a GTX280 and max that would push todays high end GPU's. PC developers wont do this because they would be eliminating a good portion of there pc fanbase. So it wont be untill the next console where you start to see graphics that look a generation beyond Crysis . And that goes for both PC and consoles because producing games look far beyond that simply cost to much money to release on one platform.

Id hate to inform you but Crytek doesnt release pics of what the games going to look like on average settings. I remeber the original Crysis footage they showed back in 2006 before the game released wich looked far better then the game at max settings. i wonder if there do the same with Crysis 2.
