well both sony and ms require paying for online, so yeah...

How many times are you going to finish Crackdown and Dead Rising 2? Probably just as much as anyone who plays PlayStation Plus games.

Paid to get hacked?i hate that sony switched to it. but i understand why they did as a company. Im mad but what can i do. I guess the playing field is leveled in the next gen. this current gen though , ps3 has a clear advantage. i hate it but i can't do anything about it.I usually saw 2-3 posts a day about that in the past. But I don't see anymore of those posts. Where did they go?

thanks for stating the obvious . I'm pretty sure sony fanboys are upset as well but what can they do? If MS was able to make a profit out of live , sony probably wondered why they couldn't either. Too bad we can't do anything about it.[QUOTE="j_assassin"]Whats the problem? Ps3 online play is still free last time i checked..lostrib

Yet you don't at all own Crackdown or Dead Rising 2. And you say renting like its a bad thing. Looking at Gamestops success, I think its pretty clear that most people do not keep their games. And the price of Plus makes access to these games cost pennies on the dollar.

I guess its the same as when people were saying bluray wasnt needed ;) Yep. Every fanboy Lem talked about how bad it was and even went out of their way to buy the disc version of Betamax even though hardly any studio even supported it.They got drowned out by the XBL Paywall.I usually saw 2-3 posts a day about that in the past. They did the same thing when Sony put Rumble back into the DS3. LOL!! First it was "Sixaxis is better and more innovative then rumble. We don't need rumble." Then when it came back they were, "Sony knew rumble was good so they added it back and kept Sixaxis as well."I always thought they were complaining about the principle of it. But I guess not.

I guess its the same as when people were saying bluray wasnt needed ;) It wasn't needed last generation. Sheesh the XBox 360 proved that in spades. The Wii proved that as well, as it completely destroyed the PS3 in sales in all categories. So yeah, looks like we were right. Blu-Ray WASN'T NEEDED. Is it needed now? Sure, games are getting a lot larger and most games will now be 1080p, so you're going to need all the extra space. That's why it's in the XBox One now.[QUOTE="mems_1224"][QUOTE="Murderstyle75"] Yet you don't at all own Crackdown or Dead Rising 2. And you say renting like its a bad thing. If you have the digital version, you have a license to play it which can be revoked for any reason M$ sees fit. And good luck RE-downloading it or transferring the license once 360 online support is dropped. Nope, its my game for the rest of my life. Thank you MS.

So what you're saying is that you enjoy being bent over, then? Okay. Doesn't change anything I've said, lol.[QUOTE="lx_theo"][QUOTE="RR360DD"]
Uh no.
Ive always defended the idea of paying for an online service. Cows on the other hand claim I was just being bent over. So I'm just using their own logic against them. They can't spend 7+ years making fun of people who pay for online, only to say its okay when it happens to them. Doesn't work like that
I said it many times over the last couple of years that Sony would wait until the PS4 to charge for online, and I was right.

One Year of PS Plus Value In "Free" Games: $1854.86
Even if the "free" games were useless, stil a better deal than xpcbox one!

I've always scorned MS for making people pay for XBL despite it offering almost nother over PSN. I'm not too thrilled about having to pay to play online, but hey, at least I get free games out of it.
[QUOTE="crusadernm"]If you actually looked at the reaction of it, this is the reality of it... Most are not in favor of it. Some are because they think it will improve the online, but most rather not. Most of the people against, though, already have PS+ and their reaction has been very mild because of it... Or they have decided to simply not play online.I always thought they were complaining about the principle of it. But I guess not.

PS3 owner here. I'm more than likely not going to get PS+ if I do get a PS4.

Which I highly respect. If I didn't think the PS+ deal was worth it (I don't count online play as part of what I'm paying for when saying that), then I wouldn't get PS+ to play online either. If it changes where I don't think the deal is worth it, I will give up online play on the console. Think that's the general opinion in general.I don't see what the big problem is? I have no problem admitting that seven years ago I said I would never pay for multiplayer, but back then multiplayer was no where as big as it is today.
So as a reasonable person who understands business, I can easily see why paying for online gaming is necessary, plus Sony has already stated that the money from PS+ will not be for profits, but will be for improving and maintaining PS+ and online gaming.
I look at it like this, PSN on PS3 was new and had growing pains, basically in the beginning it was still bata, over the years it has steadily improved, during that time we got it for free, now seven years later we have a much different PSN then what we started with, and we have the PS4, it will have many more people who are primarily focused on online gaming from the beginning then the PS3 had, thus the costs for maintaining and improving will go up significantly.
I know in a perfect world all online gaming would be free, if that really matters to you then you still have PS3, Nintendo, and PC gaming, but at fifty bucks a year, plus cloud storage, new games to play every month, and discounts it's not a bad deal.
So make a stand instead like Windows gamers did when M$ tried to charge for Windows Live.I've always scorned MS for making people pay for XBL despite it offering almost nother over PSN. I'm not too thrilled about having to pay to play online, but hey, at least I get free games out of it.

XBL member are getting FREE games as well. They had given away FREE games in the past as well. The XBL service is still better then PSN and will still be better when the XBox One and PS4 launches. are not the xbl free games only till xb1 comes out?
anyway different point from what i can tell on ps4 you can buy ps+ to play online multiplayer but nothing else is blocked and are different services while xbl seems to be needed then have paid for services blocked if you dont have gold even if you have paid for it.
i dont play much multiplayer so i wont need it.
but on the point of where the complainers go i think its just not that big of a deal,(also some hypocrisy for now having to pay for it).
im also hapy that mmos are seperate they are only paid for if the company says so,and as such for most shooters id stick with planetside 2 ,blacklight and so on .

Principle on SW? WUT. Sony fans complained about it only to flame Xbox players. Now they do not care about playing. Why is that? I wonder..... Welcome to SW.
Believe you me, we do care about paying for online play. It's unfair and greedy. That being said however, what else can we do? Move to a console that has a more expensive online fee? Bulid a $1000 PC? Buy a Wii U? Having to pay for online won't stop me from getting a PS4; it'll just something that I hate about it.
Sony makes it worth paying for. If Sony provided the same service as Microsoft (pay and get nothing back), I would have been devastated.

XBL members get free games for a few months and only on 360. That ends in November. They are not even giving you $60 worth of free games
Apparently you were too stupid to read or even understand the Xbox Live Terms of Use upon purchase of the service. F*cking kids these days. Didnt read because you couldn't understand it anyway.Murderstyle75U mad I have Crackdown forever bro? Theres no need to be upset.
