Which are most Hardcore/Manly games of all time?

Sniper made a interesting thread regarding What is the most easiest/Casual game of all time?

My question now is which is most Hardcore/Manly game of all time Warriors? No casual, girly animu themed games. Have to be pretty challenging which only real men play.

It's one of the most hardcore, challenging games of modern times, right up there with the likes of Ninja Gaiden and Souls.

Yeah, this games are actually pretty Hard lol. But in Japan this games are considered Easy Heh.

Definitely the DMC and Ninja Gaiden series. I'll even grudgingly admit that the DS series is hard/manly whatever, though i much prefer Dmc.

I'd probably also add Dante's Inferno, God of War, Duke Nukem, Doom, and Serious Sam to my list.

Duke Nukem 3d is a game specifically made for men who aspire to be alpha males through sociopathic dominance. In this day and age, it would get rekt by men who play Gone Home and put moisturizer on their face.

I don't necessarily consider all hardcore games to be manly and all manly games to be hardcore so I'll split them up:

Hardcore: Games like Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, F-Zero GX, Dark Souls series, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Mega Man, and Castlevania.

Manly: Games like God of War, Ninja Gaiden, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Madden, and Gears of War.

Painkiller. You are a Heaven sent hitman who slays demons with a gun that shoots shurikens and lightning while a metal soundtrack plays in the background.

The Batman Arkham games. I mean you get to fill the boots of *bleeping* BATMAN!! It doesn't get any manlier than that!

In no universe should Jak 2 be on that list, OP. To say I'm disappointed in you is an understatement.

I would wager a few older titles, maybe Battletoads, should be on the list though I haven't really played many of the "hardcore manly" games.

Definitely not a game where a protagonist wears a Capri.

in all seriousness, theres nothing manly or hardcore about video games. calling them manly is just as cringeworthy as calling games a sport.

I consider Hardcore and Manly two different things.

Manly: Call of Duty, God of War, Army of Two

Hardcore: Demon's Souls, IKaruga, Ghosts n' Gouls, F-Zero GX

Both: Ninja Gaiden, Resident Evil 4, Darkwatch

Rygar and Battletoads are some old school hard has hell games. I remember leaving Rygar on over night since you couldn't save. My friend and I took turns playing it straight through until we beat it. It took many many deaths and restarts. They made a 3D Rygar that looked ok, but I'm not sure how difficult it was in comparison to the original.

Battletoads is a well known hard core difficult game, but I eventually beat it.

Then, of course, there's Duke Nukem. Not a difficult game, but Duke is the epitome of testosterone.
