Censorship wise.... I guess Australia... Price wise, I think Greece or Croatia.

Think of it this way... for the price of a PS3 in USA, we can buy 3 PS3 games in Croatia :P

I payed my 80 gig PS3 a year ago 3700 HRK which equals 646 USD.

For every 3, 60 USD games you get, we can get 2.

Our PDV ( I don't know the American word, but google translated it to Value Added Tax) is 23%

Probably Congo: "The Republic of Congo in central Africa is leading the way being the Poorest Country today with a GDP-per Capita of $300.00" I mean...the entire nation only makes $300 a year. The entire nation would have to come together to buy a PSP Go, or a Wii.

xXDante666Xx

You should stop playing video games, and go back to school. Seriously.

I hope he knows per capita is latin for each head aka each person, if you think the entire population of 3 and a half millions make 300 USD as a whole.....

Sierra Leone or maybe Burundi

They don't have electricity and they constatly have civil wars and everything sucks. I also think Iraq ends up pretty high on this list as well. First they had a peaceful existense then yankees came and took their oil. They started mass rioting and suicide bombing and then they makes games about how glorius the war in Iraq was end sells it to them for money.

I always feel sorry for Europeans and Australians.

Zerocrossings

The Philippines.

The gaming society here is a joke.

DoTA(WC3) and cheap MMORPG players FTL

joopyme

The Philippines. Everyone here prefers playing DOTA, almost everyone here pirates their games (thus making people who own both a PSP Go and a PS3 like me mistakened as a really rich person), absolutely no support from SCE, Nintendo and Microsoft and that almost every original game is severely overpriced because they're all imported.tekken220
I hope you guys are joking :| Our gaming community may suck (Well, the whole country sucks) but that doesn't mean we have it bad. Warcraft III and MMORPG players, stereotyping and lack of support does not mean we suffer as gamers. First of all, we're in a 3rd world country, of course people are gonna play cheap MMORPGs since it's, well, cheap. Second, just because people like playing a custom map of Warcraft III doesn't mean we're affected. And lastly, just because we don't get support doesn't mean we can't game and all games are overpriced. Datablitz does a great job of getting games at good prices and quick too. Piracy is the only thing that affects us.

Just saying. I've been a Nintendo gamer for the last 3 years in this country and I'm fine with it (If you're truly Filipino, you'll know Philippines is a Sony fanboy country and most people are graphic lovers and Nintendo is looked down upon) I believe Korea and/or Australia have it worse.

Many games are actually released at lower price points in the Philippines - legal AND cheap. You just gotta know where to buy. Datablitz occasionally sells retail PC games cheaper than in richer countries, and they give you an additional discount for cash purchases. Also, you can buy used games for less than half the price of new games - and the games are generally in very good condition, too. It's the piracy that really plagues the streets, but what can you do? Most people can't afford to buy one game a year at the usual prices, and Datablitz doesn't have the profit margin to cut prices to clear stock. The worst part is that the Philippine gaming market is so small in terms of sheer monetary value that piracy gets ignored - just like the rest of the gamers in the country. Good for pirates, bad for the rest.

China has a pretty good games industry. They have limits on MMOs but they have a thriving gaming industry, a very strong starcraft community and the Taipei game show is the biggest in the world (300,000).

Who knew so many Filipinos found gaming here so bad. I must be tired but I can't get you, first paragraph you mention that gaming here is ok and not expensive. Second paragraph, you mention piracy kills us. You naming it as one of the worst or not?

dragonfly110

Actually here in Brazil the ps2 launched with a price of 699 Reais (367 USD), but we had the Xbox 360 officialy here since 2008, and while the prices were absurd at that time (almost reaching 1200USD) nowadays they sell for 473 USD. And although Sony doesn't sell the ps3 console officially, it has started selling the games here with the price ranging from 52 USD to 104 USD. Games for the Xbox360 here cost from 52 USD to 84 USD. You can also find a ps3 here for 473USD at import shops

So while the prices in Brazil are way higher than those from the USA and Japan, I think that there is still worse places to be a gamer than here.

Italy's the worst european country, thats for sure.

here, modern warfare 2 used costs 59 euroes. forza 3 used costs 54. the 360 wifi adaptor costs 79. and twilight princess is STILL 59.

at least the consoles themselves are pretty cheap. a DSlite costs 99.

That problem applies throughout the European Union, excluding the United Kingdom. That's why every informed European gamer uses this website to find out where to buy their games in the United Kingdom for little money.

I was thinking of some third-world septic colony, but that works too. :P

Not too sure people living in Third World Countries plays games or really cares.

Well here in Philippines (a third world country), what the US gets, we also get it. There are a few games sold here that are European and Japanese versions and of course plenty of Asian versions which are cheaper than the American versions. Yes piracy is rampant here but there are also plenty of people who buy original games. We have a store similar to Gamestop selling 100% original with many branches around the country.

You can't play games (or do anything for that matter) when your country has this kind of power grid.

What an effed up place.

Computer House in Saudi Arabia sells European and American games, though, so you have to pay attention to what you buy. What's more, is there any competition at all?

I've went to Saudi Arabia many times and yes, there is competition for Computer House, and most games are European versions and sell for prices lower than in the US or Europe (I bought LittleBigPlanet new from there for the equivalent of $36).

Venezuela due the clown known as ChavezGiancar
Taken from Wikipedia: "In November 2009, the Government of Venezuela announced that it would ban all video games in which the objective was to shoot people. The ban was due to widespread violence in the country." Holy mother of Mario. That's like 50%(give or take, OBVIOUSLY) of Videogames out there.
