Starcraft is a good game, but it always felt pretty generic from a visual standpoint. The two aren't even worth comparing.

How is Starcraft generic but Halo is not? Where the main character is a super soldier who takes on endless amounts of bad guys wearing motocross gear, and the marines int he game look like a blantent ripoff of James Cameron's Aliens.. This isn't defending Starcraft as so much questioning your choice of not calling Halo generic as well.

Halo has only gotten better, and Reach looks incredible. Starcraft just looks like those models that kids used to paint in the very early 90s.

Halo's armor and weapons are more realistic, who would wear a 5 ton space suit to fight? Plus Halo's weapons are very powerful, assuming the forerunners are similar to the humans. Remember Halo is also a weapon.
.. Uhh Starship Troopers gave the whole idea of that.. Having a space suit thats extremely powerful, fast, and the ability to carry large loads of ammunition.. Its basically what the military is trying to do TODAY in developing exo skeletons and what not..
yeah and halo's spartan armor does that too. and better since its less than half of the size and weight. and i'm pretty sure, the military if possible would prefer to build a suit that you can at least get through a door with. not to mention the energy shields and gel layers...Halo if you ask me looks more impressive.
but out of all choices in the Sci-Fi tech. I love Deus Ex : Human Revolution.
anything resembling Ghost in the Shell tech is just pure win, and - to me - looks liek the closest thing to a future world then i think people give it credit for.
>IG is just a aliens rip off
you do know that every sci-fi franchise (be it Warhammer 40k,Starcraft and of course Halo) have ripped off James camerons space marines? not to metion Cameron ripped off Starship troopers
Michael biehn (he played Hicks and Kyle reese) said Cameron made everyone read Starship troopers before filming aliens
starcraft. halo vehicles (humans) look like crap. It isnt futuretech, its basically what we have now but simpler. Starcraft's human tech actually looks sorta futurey.
That always struck me as odd when i was a kid playing StarCraft. I kept thinking "wait is this like alternate history where the South really did rise again and become not only a global superpower but an intergalactic one?!!!" :DId say halo...It atleast doesn't have such concepts as...the CONFEDERACY in space still going and southern accents. though I'm unsure if they removed that from starcraft 2...

Halo
The firebats in SC2 are like half the size of a seige tank lol the proportions are so off lol
NanoMan88
I think its worse that the terran battlecruiser which is a capital ship is the size of 4 marines and can be brought down by small arms fire.
As was said in regard to Halo's weaponsThis directly translates to Starcraft's gameplay choices and visual representation. Otherwise you know, everything outside of gameplay is generally different in representation.well, that comes down to a gameplay choice, not rational advancement of weapons..

Case point being Halo Wars.
Compare that to the Halo games. Yeah see my point?
