As much as I enjoyed The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. I think Elder Scrolls IV: Skyrim is going to winRPGgame of the year. Xenoblade would be a good contender if Nintendo of America would get there heads out of their donkeys noses. But we could see and wait, my money is on Skyrim
but ES games have never had good story or characters110million
Morrowind. It has an absolutely fantastic story with very memorable characters.
Part of the reason Oblivion was such a let down, actually, was because it dropped the ball in the plot department.
TW2 is the best RPG I have played in years, so I think it has a shot at being the best RPG this year. I honestly think Skyrim is being massively overhyped, Oblivion wasnt that good untill mods and Skyrim doesnt look that good either from what I have seen and read.
I've played and beat Witcher 2. Fantastic game but it is not my personal favorite. Skyrim will be good and will win a lot of GOTY awards. But like others have said, Bethesda is overrated. Personally I've put in about 20 hours of the *** version of Xenoblade on my imported Wii, but i will wait for EU version to finish it. Those 20 hours were quite possibly the best time I've experienced in a RPG in at least 5 years (maybe the best game i've played in 5 years out of all games). Nintendo need to get their act together because nobody should miss out on this game, It's a masterpiece.
Really? Its a solid game, and its not a stretch to think that.Anyone who thinks the Witcher 2 will win RPG of the year here must enjoy fooling himself.

For me The Witcher 2.That's going to be hard to top. I'm seriously excited for Skyrim and Dark Souls, but I doubt either game will match TW2's ambition.
I'm really worried about Dark Souls. I think that they are focusing way too much on making the game punishing. One of the great things about Demons Souls is that even thought it was pretty harsh, the game was somewhat fair. I hope they don't get so wrapped up in trying to beat you up that they ruin the balance the first game had.
[QUOTE="SkyWard20"]Really? Its a solid game, and its not a stretch to think that. Except that it won't. Considering the reviewer's complaints about the game, it sounded like it barely managed to score a 9.0. The Witcher 2 won't get RPG of the year here. End of line.Anyone who thinks the Witcher 2 will win RPG of the year here must enjoy fooling himself.

I'm not confident that Gamespot will hand it to the Witcher 2, given that they usually prefer to hand out awards to games that don't deserve them.
For me, personally... I don't see a single RPG on the horizon that could top TW2 for me.

Really? I read the review, and had it not been for an ending that was not bad, but not as good as the rest, he sounded ready to give it a 9.5.
It is basically the ONLY rpg this gen to have great graphics, story, characters, gameplay.

The Mass Effect series has all of those. And so does The Lost Odyssey. And Crisis Core.Except that it won't.
