Let's keep this a civil discussion, please!

This is going to be more of a survey of how many console fanboys there are on gamespot opposed to pc fanboys. It seems the number of PS3 fanboys in system wars is highest (judging form previous poles), so that, combined with the wii and 360 fans, should ensure a higher percentage of 'console gaming' votes.
Asking system wars to have a civil discussion is like trying to convince Bin Laden to become a peace activist. Not going to happen.

Yup yup... so the way I see it we rather turn this thread into a "Asking Sw to have a civil discussion is like..." analogies thread.

I completely agree. Let the analogies begin!!!
 nice one, as for me, i like console better i started on consoles as my earliest memory's as a child. When i picked up that controller and pressed the button was like i died and went to heaven. I still like pc thoughAsking system wars to have a civil discussion is like trying to convince Bin Laden to become a peace activist. Not going to happen.

Depends on the gen. This - PC for me, previous gen - both. In 90's I loved console gaming more. I hate how consoles became underpowered PC's this gen and almost lost their identity.

Asking System Wars to have a civil discussion is like the French beating the Germans. L'Impossible
As for the actual topic, console gaming is fun for playing with friends i.e. halo and what not, I prefer PC for my actual gaming
3 against 1? Again?
Oh well, I'll say PC based off my experiences, but they all have their merits.
Well of course its 3 on 1, thats the only way the consoles have a chance :) ...seriously this thread was too tame, someone had to make a comment like this >_>[QUOTE="Valiant_Rebel"]Well of course its 3 on 1, thats the only way the consoles have a chance :) ...seriously this thread was too tame, someone had to make a comment like this >_>3 against 1? By ganging up? Not cool. > _> :P
Both have their strengths and weaknesses but personally, I prefer the "insert disc and play" simplicity of console gaming. The_Game21xGood point. I don't always play consoles, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis... I mean the 360 :P. Otherwise i'm typically gaming on a PC.
One time fee for a console to play the newest titles for 5-10 years, with a simple, comfortable controller & on a wide screen at the end of my bed. Or an initial fee roughly twice the amount of a console, with expensive upgrades needed throughout the 5-10 years, have to deal with any shoddy updates, viruses, slowdowns, sit at a desk with a mouse & keyboard, all so I can play multiplat games with a small graphics advantage, but usually with terrible DRM & bugs.
Exclusive wise, PC may get an odd shooter (Crysis), but does get RTS & MMOs, the only ones I care about are usually Blizzard titles, which can be played on my cheap PC.
Well.. i dunno which is better really in genereal. Because on its on pc is the best gaming platform, But if I had choose between only playing on consoles, and only playing on pc I would def. have to go with consoles
Ignoring cost, neither is better than the other. Both are fantastic and it comes down to what you want in your system, as well as which has the most games that interest you.
PC for me. Bigger library, better library, better graphics, better online, free online, bigger scope, better controls.
Console gaming is pretty sweet, but I always come back to PC gaming. The PC gaming landscape is changing so rapidly that there's always something new to play, whether it's a nice custom map, a new indie title or a sale on a DD system. Eventually I'll get tired of a console, it always happens, I'll have a cooldown period where I'll play different systems before getting my interest sparked again. This never happens with PC gaming so it'll always be the platform where I'll spend most of my time.

Luckily, I have the luxury of both. :P

To each their own. I have owned 360's and PS3's and sold both because I never used them.
That made no sense, and the only sense I could make of it is completely false. No console has a bigger library than the PC.[QUOTE="GioVela2010"]
Console Gaming: Bigger library of great next gen games.

Who said anything about 1 console having more great games? I said Console Gaming has more great games than PC Gaming. "Console Gaming" as a whole includes PS3, 360 and Wii together.
I can play all PC games on my 360, but i cant play any 360/PS3 exclusives on my PC
So, 360/PS3 and a non gaming laptop for 2D adventures consoels do not get is the best solution by miles
A gaming PC is something i would never touch myself, i have avoided for decades now and saved me 10-15.000$ at least
I prefer PC gaming. It rewards the effort I put in with a much greater range of options, much more sophisticated games and generally less moronic game-design than the blockbuster-types I find on consoles.
And given that I already have a computer (which should cost about $400) I could get an upgrade it for another $300 or get a console for the same price. Why would I bother when the PC has a much larger catalogue of much more interesting games and tops it off with a hardware superiority so vast that even low-end systems of today can literally make a console cry?

Did you just seriously say you can play all PC games on your 360? That has got to be the most ignorant comment I have ever heard on here.I can play all PC games on my 360, but i cant play any 360/PS3 exclusives on my PC

Eh I prefer PC gaming for its sheer modding ability, more competive online community (good luck finding a good console clan). Really all games on PC have better controls than consoles except racing games and fighting games. For that you just need to plug in a controller to make work, however if I wanted to play a rts on a console im out of luck. Also im going to have a PC in my home anyways so why be redundant and get a console.
