And the region itself, there's just so much to explore.
It'd be awesome if they remade it for the 3ds. :D They will, if they continue the trend.
Except for the water (urgh), Hoenn was probably geographically the best region in Pokemon games. I mean, when I looked at the Hoenn map in Sapphire today, my mind boggled at just how big it was.And it had some of the coolest Pokemon... Rayquaza, Groudon, Swampert, Salamence, and most of all, Blaziken :D
Its problems included the fact that it was grind heavy, unbalanced, had a horribly broken leveling curve, and was a drag to play through starting from the fourth gym onwards to the seventh.
EDIT: And of course, I look forward to the remakes too. Maybe they'l fix all the problems and give Hoenn the treatment that it deserves.
I agree with most of this, but you'd have to explain the broken leveling curve. It's been a while since I played it. :P
I still remember after beating the 4th gym, then having to backtrack all the way back to petalburg, and THEN having to go all the way to the 6th gym :/ yeah, it did drag on at times.
After the 7th gym though it was incredible. And, the Regi's are still the best legendary trio to date.
EDIT: As for the water, yeah there was a ton of it but there was always something to explore out on the sea, it's great that it just wasn't one big empty space. Hoenn is definitely the best region, It's just a shame how much backtracking had to be done in it.
