Which one will have a bigger reaction if it flops? Skyward Sword or Uncharted 3?

Based on the information I know on both games, I'd say Skyward Sword has a high chance of being the Legend of Zelda's Mario Galaxy. They are really changing up the game and EXPANDING exploration (something sequels tend not to do these days)Thus I assume rave reviews the likes of which the series has not seen in a long time shall follow.

Uncharted 3 on the other hand might be hit for being too much of the same. I actually think the superficial effects of the cinematics and set pieces will have worn off with reviewers and they will actually review it on it's gameplay... Which wasn't so hot in Uncharted 2.

In this forum, Uncharted 3. Sheep have already been so thoroughly demoralized by Nintendo's showing this gen that there are hardly any of them left.

They could not give TP an 8.5 withought rage, so if SS goes below a 9.0 crap.

Cows will probably downplay(GT5) or even deny it was ever hyped(INFAMOUS 2). Sheep on the other hand will take this very seriously. Mainly because wii has absolutely noting worth nothing on the horizon. 1 good game after a 12 month drought excuses nintendo in their eyes. You saw it with n64, GC and now wii.

I agree with TC that the TP thing was just dumb. So I think the bigger reaction will be with Uncharted.

SS, easily. Sheep have unrealistically high hopes for the game, I've seen people hype AAAAE. The game will score no higher than 8.5, mark my words...

Nintendo just keep regurgitating the same formula over and over, and it still doesnt have voice acting, not to mention the awful artstyle (although i suppose it does appeal to 3 year olds, the Wiis target audience). But yeah, if Zelda flops, it'll just be a flop due to Nintendo just playing it safe with the franchise as usual. TP already flopped, and it looks way better than Skyward Sword will be.

Having Master Chief as his avatar definitley does not help his cause.

On one hand, there's a precedent for Skyward Sword, i.e. the Twilight Princess flop reaction. I wasn't around to experience it, but I've heard the reaction was explosive beyond the boundaries of reason.

On the other hand, the most aggressive nitpicking of reviews and the most claims of bias always seem to be associated with PS3 flops (atleast from what I've seen). And since Uncharted 3 is pretty much the biggest PS3 exclusive, the reaction would be like the Infamous 2 reaction x100.

I'm honestly on the fence. I think Zelda fans are probably more passionate than UC fans, but then again, I think that we're unlikely to see another TP-like reaction because we're all aware of how dumb that was.

So skyward sword would generate the bigger reaction. Cows on system wars hype uncharted series as the biggest ps3 series when its really not.

Serioursly,everyone and their Aunt Jemima who has a ps3 knows about Uncharted. Even 360 players are well known of it. Skyward could be the bigger flop score wise, but Uncharted would be the bigger reaction due to following the success of its predecessor. And if UC isnt the best PS3 seires, what is? MGS is a done seires(PS3 only wise) and God of War is not OFFICIALLY announced.

This doesn't even make sense. Uncharted 3 looks way more similar to 2 than Skyward Sword looks in comparison to any Zelda game.

The 3-year-old comment is just more of the "it's kiddie!" argument. Not really worth typing out a thought out response to.

I say Skyward Sword. The fans will just say, it's old school. It explains its extremely poor graphics and simple gameplay. LustForSoul

How is the gameplay any more simple than Uncharted or 90% of the games that have come out this gen? Actually, it's design is actually more complex (though I wouldn't call it a complex game than UC as it's not as linear and it's dungeons are huge puzzles with smaller puzzles inside them.

As for graphics, it looks perfectly good for a Wii game.

Sony has a bigger fanbase on SW, so Uncharted 3.

Not necessarily the most epic moment in SW history, but probably the most epic in GS/GF history lol.

The UC series is still new, isn't quite as involving and doesn't share the same legendary status as Zelda. UC doesn't have hordes of fans that have been around for over 20 years, full of fond childhood memories.

UC has had one decent/good game and one great game. Zelda has many outstanding games, a few that can be considered among the best games of all time. Comparing a nice new IP to a legendary piece of gaming history.

I think it will be more fun in SW if UC3 flops, but I think SS will have the bigger reaction by far.

I don't know. Zelda already has a great history tarnished with a flop. But Uncharted has one great game and one meh game. So it could go either way.

I would be kinda pissed if UC3 flopped. Bad enougg GS flopped infamous 2. Anyways I still think Zelda would cause more chaos.

So if Uncharted 3 or Skyward flops does that mean Skyrim or Witcher 2 win GOTY?

I think Uncharted 3 will be good, but it will be hard to top the sucess of the second one.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at with my earlier post. TP was huge for GS/GF, but in the confines of SW Doom 3 took the cake!

Seeing as how that one reviewer was actually recieving DEATH THREATS for giving Twilight Princess a 8.8 (yes, death threats over a ****ing 8.8 ) I'd say the answer is fairly obvious.

Uncharted is due for a flop, I think. It would be terrible for the cows, of course, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if it got an 8.5 or somesuch.

Whereas yet another Zelda flop would provoke so many "lol Zelda is dying" comments that sheep would probably be driven out of SW till the U comes out. Right after they force some poor sucker into retirement over the review, of course.

UC3. Cows feel the need to over-compensate for every minute failure even if it really isn't a failure at all. They're still damage contolling the 360's lead constantly, and success this year is practically riding on UC3 and its expected besting of Gears 3. What would be even better is if Gears scored a whole point higher. God, I would be glued to this site for days.

Skyward Sword would blow over quickly, I definitely haven't noticed a huge level of hype surrounding it and most of the attention from fanboys is going to be on the Wii-U in the coming year. Twilight Princess launched a system, Skyward Sword is that system's sputtering end.
