it's simple which system sounds better saying, and has the greater name
Playstation or Xbox Or Nintendo
For me it's Playstation the name is just natural and it just sounds amazing.

This is where we separate the fanboys from the men...vashkey
And that pretty much sums up this entire thread. You just gained my respect good sir.
I like em all. Although the one thing I like about Playstaion is that they number their systems (1,2,3) unlike Nintendo or Microsoft. I mean we went from the Wii to the Wii-u. Would've been better to just call it Wii 2. Same goes for Microsoft, the 360 is a nice name but what are they gonna call it successor, 720?
Well, you hardly ever say PlayStation 3, you just abbreviate it to PS3. You generally leave the Xbox out of the 360, and the Nintendo out of Wii.
Between PS3, 360 and Wii... I choose Wii, cause it is only 1 syllible!
Out of Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo, I'll take Playstation.
Don't really care actually. I've got no beef or love with any of the system names, although the name "Wii" was used for stupid jokes for a few years which always pissed me off when I was talking about it.
PlayStation is probably the best name, but the "3" at the end of it makes it lose its appeal.EponiqueI agree with this. Playstation is a great name, but it would be nice if they were a little bit more original with the suffix.
Playstation.
The name is awesome.
PAL360
Sony PlayStation 3?
A Station where you Play?
---
Microsoft Xbox 360?
A Box named X?
---
Nintendo Wii?
As opposed to he, she, you, or I?
---
Only the Nintendo DS (Dual Screens) has a relatively normal console name this gen.
---
Sega always had epic names for their consoles (Nomad, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, Game Gear, SG-1000)
Honestly, I think the name "Playstation" is beyond lame. It might as well be "toy box" or "super fun happy console". In terms of description, GameCube fits best. Dreamcast sounds better.

"You have now arrived at Play Station on 3rd Street. The next train for Grand Central will be departing in approximately 15 minutes."
"Hey guys, this is my box. I named it X. It is my X-Box and it is MINE. I can make it do 360s...watch!"
"...Anyone want to play with my Wii?
This really is like trying to decide which turd is best.
I'd only say Xbox 360, if I could say simply 360. Xbox sounds a little dry. It has little imagination especially when you realise it simply means Direct X-Box or Direct X set top box. The only reason Xbox is some what cool is because MS heavily marketed it.
The Wii/Wii U, just sounds silly. No two ways about it, no marketing in the world can make that sound cool. They could paint wii on a 747 and it still wouldn't look cool, people would just call it the flying wee. I wonder how many people thought it was a joke the first time they saw it. They gaming media laughed at the name.
Playstation sounded cool a while ago, but Playstation 3 just sound stale now. Sorry, they've just been riding the name out for a good long time, I understand it's a brand but wow.
Last gen i'd say Dreamcast, but I gather this is about the current gen. I remember this episode of CSI where one guy in the lab suddenly says, "have you got that Dreamcast yet, I hear it has real nice graphics". I just lol'd, that was some random product placement, but I kinda liked it in a weired way.
