NOT ME.

I can't stand its repetiveness. GO to point B from A, kill kill kill, go to point C from B, kill kill kil.. rinse and repeat with a few extra things to do like boat/snowmobile chases.- which aren't that great either.

I find that there is no variety in the actualy gameplay. There aren't really times when i have to think about what i have to do (ex, Puzzles) or where i have to go.

Who else hates/likes the singleplayer, give reasons.

and just for clarification: im mainly talking about mw2, and black ops.

and finally? If Cod's single player isn't that great, why does it get such high scores?

Me neither. No pacing whatsoever, boring on rail sequences, and badly written story line. Good gunplay though and good soundtrack. I'm talking about all COD campaigns, they all feel very similar.

Assuming we're talking 4 onwards here, MW1's campaign and story generally was excellent. The ones after? No, not at all.

I actually liked the Black Ops campaign. It was just nutty enough to actually work.

The Modern Warfare series jumped the shark with the whole land based attack of the eastern seaboard thing... I was like.. "Ya lost me."

The only ones I have beaten are COD4, and Blackops.... I liked them both. I have also played the SP in COD2 and found it to be very good, but I never got around to actually completing the game Wont lie I dont really care for the SP in MW3, more interested if the MP is any good as MW2 was a big disappointment for me. In the end I dont think the Sp are anything special in the call of duty games, they could use a massive overhaul I think.

We all know how COD get their scores. Anyway, this just my opinion, some people maybe like no pacing in their shooters, how would I know. Never said they were terrible.

Cod4 was impressive, to say the least. WaW i liked alot, but it paled in comaprisson to the other single players of WW2 cod games. Didn't play MW2. Blops I played on a friends 360, in one evening, the story was predictable but good, but it was so painfully linear it almost felt like it was on rails. The SPs of COD and COD 2 now...those were excellent. Fantastic atmosphere and great 'behind enemy lines' missions. I used to love those. Hunting after tanks to stick a sticky bombs on them, those were the days.

quality is purely opinionated, but i firmly believe that the reason for the constant high scores of the call of duty games can be atleast partially due to hype

COD 4 Had a decent campaign with exciting moments and memorable characters

WaW Was just your Generic WW2 Campaign, nothing exciting

MW2 Had a lot of canned animations and some memorable characters, but was short and bland at times.

BO Had a good story with no memorable characters and 2 Times the canned animation

MW3 Had no memorable characters but an interesting story line.

Its just an average story about Russians and America at war involving Nukes. The only reason why I only care for the MP in war shooters.

Yes I do. I've played MW1/2 and BO. I'm actually looking foward to Price/Soap's finale in MW3.

Despite all the haters and naysayers, MW1 had a very great campaign that had great variety and depth in the storyline. ( Your on the ground as SF:SAS, then suddenly you get to fight these massive fights with so many soldiers as a Ranger, then suddenly you're the gunner of the AC130) It was crazy and spectacular.

BO and MW2 campaign's were lackluster.

MW2 tried too hard and it was too similar to MW1. Taking down Washington! What? Task 141? They don't even exist, give me back the SAS or some other real SF! OMG he's really the traiter and the person your controlling *spoilers* dies? Wow, I've never seen that one before!

BO was better than MW2 but the pacing is inconsistent or too consistent depending on how you see it. There's just way too much shooting and it becomes a chore. As the TC described go here and shoot everyone, then go there and shoot everyone. It felt you, as the player, wasn't accomplishing anything important except just putting two in the chest in one in the head for everyone you see. The best part of this game came from the beginning where you had to escape the prison. The other parts were MW1 clones.

I only played CODMW2's campaign and it was horrible. Most of it was on-rails with a few non-linear sections. Thestory was utterly confusing and they don't seem to explain it well. I'm usually decent at getting the story in games. The friendly Al also barely helped you.

I really enjoyed the CODMW2 campaign. It was very intense and I didn't mind about the length... it felt about right to be honest. I generally don't like any FPS games, but the 6 hours i spent completing this was well worth it. I don't think I would be saying that if I was the one who'd spent £45 on it, but that was my brother, and I'm pretty sure he got his money's worth in the multiplayer, which I haven't played at all

I like it.

It's not worth 60 dollars alone though either.

and i don't particularly like COD Multiplayer, i am more of the Battlefield / tactical variety.

That being said though.

yeah, the COD campaigns are a lot of fun, a lot of nice set pieces, runs like a Michael Bay action flick. Not deep at all, just action-movie fun.

and very few FPS, can get as good of a polish ride as COD can.
